Joe root missed in final playing 11 between eng vs ind 3rd t20i.He is regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world. Will it be end of root in t20???

It will be very hard. Root doesn't have that many gears, and because England wants a team full of sloggers, Root is not the most attractive option. He's easily the slowest run scorer for England (on average). You can get away with slow scoring in ODIs but not T20s. Root's natural way of building innings can only kill the momentum for the team.

I think Root should focus on test and ODIs only. He's not a natural slogger and trying to become one can damage his game. Unlike most countries, England doesn't have a shortage of quality batsmen in LOIs.

It will be hard for Joe Root to make a comeback to the T20 team. He is a good ODI/Test player but England have lots of great hitters in T20, so it is hard to accommodate Joe Root.

England now have stokes back. So they can drop one of the bowlers to accommodate an extra batter. But I suspect they might bring another explosive bat from their domestic like Livingstone or someone rather than root.

I don't think root has any business being in the t20 side. He's simply not a good t20 batsman.

He needs to find his perfect game for t20 otherwise I don't see him coming back to playing 11.

There are plenty of young dynamic as well as experienced batsmen coming through ranks in England's domestic white ball cricket.

Malan,Denly,duckett,Livingstone,vince,
joe clarke,sam hain,ed pollock,bell Drummond,Ollie pope etc.

As already said, there is pretty much no use of Root in T20s.

What Root is good at is to hold one end and score 50s-60s consistently in every second match. In odis, he has an important role as a couple of early wickets means batters have to control the game and look for consolidation.

Root is the best man for that. He will do the consolidation role and control the game in 50-overs format, allowing Stokesy and Buttler to go all guns blazing in the last 10-15.

In T-20, that is not required though. You can go berserk all the way, particularly, if you have depth in batting which England have.

Roy
Buttler
Hales
Morgan
Bairstow
Stokes
Ali/ Willey

Omg this line up tho ! We've bowled really well, especially our spinners to this beast line up

Root and Smith are a liability in T20s. This is what rules them out of any comparison with Kohli as to who the overall greatest batsman in the world is today. It’s between Kohli, Kane and Warner.

I would drop Hales and play Root at 3. Like it was said in another thread, Hales totally sucked the momentum out of 2 very good starts and with these starts you need someone like Root who can keep batting at 120 strike rate and let the other hit around him.

Kohli has been horrendeous in t20 after the end of 2016. He has scored runs but has done so with no impact.
Talking about root and smith. They dont play int t20 much. Otherwise smith , kohli , roo and williamson are in same class in t20 .

Don't think he is that important in T20's tbh.
