Will Pakistan winning the T20 World Cup have the same effects as Champions Trophy?

Exactly what the title says. If pakistan wins, will India pressure ICC to try to end the WT20 as a competition like they did with the Champions Trophy after Pakistan gave them phainty? Will they try to extend the IPL to 6 months out of the year to ensure an Indian is always winning trophies?

Could feel the media coverage/hype dissipate soon after Pakistan destroyed India in the opener. No statsbonanza on cricinfo, no slavish, drooling love stories/essays written on cover drives (Babar>>> Kohli).

If they can't compete, can easily see BCCI continue to monopolize cricket. Also, Pakistan winning the WT20 will severely devalue the IPL product. When the best players going around aren't in the competition, what's the point in playing?

No. I don't think so.

There's a difference between CT and World T20. One is a World Cup. Other is not.

World T20 has more prestige.

Also, Pakistan have already won the World T20 before (back in 2009).

Times were different in 2009. Game has changed as bcci and big 3 attempt to stifle non big 3 teams

I don't think so. Last 3 World T20s have been won by non-big 3 teams (Sri Lanka and West Indies).

As long as T20 format is there, World T20 is unlikely to go anywhere.

I think scrapping of CT is a good thing. It is a pointless tournament. 3 World Cups for 3 formats sounds more logical.
