Latham's been garbage, but Sarfraz has been even worse. If I could give Nicholls the gloves I would.

Toss up between Hasan Ali and Amir. Amir has better economy but Ali better wicket taking ability, along with his good 50 with the bat.

You know things are bad when Latham and Nicolls are making the side when they've done so little this series.

Would any Pakistani player get in to the New Zealand side?

NZ though a good and hard working unit are certainly not world beaters like we are making them appear. Looking at the current two teams would any Pak player get in to the NZ side? I can't think of even one.

Shadab, Fakhar and Hasan Ali are potentially the only players that could get into the NZ line-up

Hasan Ali and Amir are the only two players I'd take.

Fakhar for Nicols, if we're not doing like for like.

On current form, probably not. However, on ability several players would. Namely, Babar, Amir, Hassan, Shadab and Fakhar.

Let alone New Zealand, only 1-2 of our players get into India, Australia, South Africa and England at best. Sums up the gap between us and the top sides - it is huge, and one-off wins in the Champions Trophy against South Africa, England and India does not change that.

The top ODI sides in the world, i.e. the aforementioned teams, will beat Pakistan anywhere in the world in any conditions 8/10 times. It just so happened that those 2/10 games happened in the Champions Trophy.

Yes very terrifying to be honest. This NZ side itself is an average side so if we are struggling to even compete against them then this should be a huge concern.

But it was inevitable. The batting line up we are carrying would struggle to beat even BD in their current form.

People are really underestimating this Pakistan side.

Shinwari,Imad,Haris and a good opener then we will be back on track.
All asian teams have been humiliated in NZ I do not remember the last time an asian team won a match in NZ

Coming back to the topic.

5 6 Pakistan players will comfortably make it into this NZ XI
This NZ XI is only good for NZ conditions they will struggle overseas hence why they lost to bangladesh in the CT not so long ago.
But NZ is better than Australia in ODI definitely.

Yes an average side that almost beat india in India?
An average side that has won their last 20 matches against asian sides at home?

Typical Kamran Akmal fan logic

When I said average I mean relative to the likes of India, England and SA.

Munro is a failure, so I make FZ opening with Martin

Shadab obviously makes the XI as only spinner (& all rounder)

Hasan has bowled well & batted as well.

Rest probably are Kiwi; may be Amir & Fahim can make 15 men squad.

Shadab and Hasan definitely will get into this NZ side which will strengthen their bowling and lower order batting. That will make this NZ team quite scary to be honest.

Lol! Why on every thread you tell that CT 17 was 2/10 times victory?

Just accept that Pak won and move on.

Or in any form. We would thrash this Pk side all day. The Pk batting is comically bat, worse than associate level.

what conditions are they playing in?

If its in the UAE or India or SL, then Shadab, Hassan, Babar even Malik and Farkhar can replace players in a full strength NZ team

If they're playing in NZ, then Shadab and Hassan are probably the only two with a chance

I think, it's about the team of the series.

In UAE, Babar & Malik will make the playing XI on top of those 3.

None of out crappy batsmen would dislodge any of kiwis current batsmen

NZ in NZ is a very good team. PPers are being harsh on Pakistani Team here.

Only Hasan Ali.

Munro/Guptill > Fakhar, Boult > Amir, Santner > Shadab and Williamson/Ross Taylor > Babar

Non of NZ player Will get in to Pakistan team, If they’re playing outsider of NZ

There were unbeaten until the final in the last world cup.

So, World beaters until the final. They also beat the finalists in a group game.

Reaching the WC final some years back does not make them "world beaters". For that they had to win the WC then follow it up by defeating the likes of RSA and Australia away from home. This team is not good enough to win in these countries.
