Yashasvi Jaiswal versus Saim Ayub

can u tell me about a single good innings that jaiswal has played when the pitch wasnt flat.he failed against nz,sa and now vs aus apart from that 161 which he scored when the pitch had turned into a phatta,he has nothing to show and he couldnt even cross single digit scores in the remaining inninigs
Yeah sure, the 4th test match vs England in Ranchi where he scored 73 and 37.

The second test match vs Eng where he scored 200 and no one else in the team crossed 50.

His T20 habits let him down a bit. Loose shots atleast twice in Australian tour. When he buckled down he made 170. Getting out to full swinging ball has nothing to do with pitch. It can happen upfront for an opener. You can use this logic against any batsmen. None better than one mr. Jo Root who is yet o make a 100 in Australia

One difference is Jaiswal will have a lot of competition within Indian set up. Saim has zero competition. How it will impact their career is something we have to wait and see.

As long as Saim plays for his team and not to keep out competition, no one will care.

Yashasvi Jaiswal may not have delivered performances so extraordinary that we’d compare him to legends like Virat Kohli or Sachin Tendulkar, but he certainly hasn’t been so underwhelming as to deserve heavy criticism either. Among the crop of young emerging players, his name stands out for good reason. A couple of poor series doesn’t define a player’s career. Judging him—or anyone—against the unparalleled standards of icons like Sachin Tendulkar or Hanif Mohammad is unrealistic and often unfair. Let’s allow Jaiswal the time to grow and prove himself over the next few years before rushing to conclusions. And no, he is not overhyped. Anyone who earns the right to wear the Indian jersey has done so through sheer ability and relentless hard work.

Gill is a far better batsman than Babar. 10 years down the line even hardcore Babar fans wouldn’t dare to compare the two.

India is a batting-obsessed nation. They will never be short of world class batsmen. We celebrate one Babar Azam in 20 years where as they produce several elite batsmen every few years.
Disagree here Mamoon. Gill is not even close to Babar.

No doubt. Gill has tapered off big time. He is a very average player.

Babar would walk into the Indian Test and ODI team ahead of Gill.
this current lot of indian cricketers is not humble and they are not showing any respect veterans ,greats like starc, cummins.Harsshit and jaiswal were shown their true value by starc

I don't mind that tbh it is something we can learn from India. No need to be overfriendly particularly with HTBs and FTBs from Aus. Give it back to them. We are missing characters.

still u have to show some respect to the greats/veterans of game being a rookie urself

Jaiswal is 23 years old.
2024 was his first full year as an international cricketer and he will finish with 1300+ test runs at an average of around 50.

That is a great start to his test career. There is zero merit in criticizing him for anything right now.

Tougher tests await him but he is doing fine. He stays back so was always going to struggle against pace in Australia. It was evident in South Africa as well. Very early days.
