When people moan about the appointment of a captain without giving him a chance.
 
wow, some rationality there !

You know things are bad when Mamoon backs a certain selection :sohail:amin

or when he dismisses a certain non-selection :sahmed:fadi
 
All I'm saying is, he has looked a good captain in domestic cricket so give him a chance.
 
After the World Cup final. Have double-shifts from Monday so won't get time to post.

Wanted to leave after the QF but there was no point in doing so, because I have enough time on my hands till Sunday.
 
things are bad and there is not planning when a player who didn't played a single odi in last 2 years is back as captain of odi team
 
You know the pitch is flat when even the likes of Shoaib malik score a double century.
 
When India is playing so bad that burned Indians are bumping pointless threads to take cheap shots.
 
When indians are hammered so much that they cant even find solace in a pakistan loss (because we arent losing any :misbah) and then have to resort to make cheap shots.

When fanboys are ready to sacrifice team unity to bring back Amir into the team amd start cursing loyal and honest Pakistani Players when they take a stand(flawed and needless stand, btw).

It's still the same,, though Misbah is not around any more - they made Azhar, who is officially almost 31 (probably close to real, if not actually 31) & his deputy as someone officially 30 (actually, probably under 35, that I can say), who is already carrying 15-20KG extra for a WK & most likely to be dropped in couple of years time (already struggling to keep LO spot) & the only viable replacement, if Azhar is sacked (or he opts out) is another one around 35 (& icing on the cake could be that MoHa is made deputy of Malik).

This is elementary mistake of not appointing Captain & Deputy with at least 5 years gap (that is, if both are same type of specialist, i.e., both batsmen or both all-rounders or both bowlers). If the Captain is a batsman & deputy is fast bowler, it should be 10 years gap & may be of same age if the case is opposite, so that there is a possible continuation of the leadership. AUS almost always appoint batsman as they Captain & the deputy is younger by few years (who is groomed as future Captain in domestics for past few years). Tubby Taylor was made AB's deputy on his 18th month in AUS debut & he was made to lead "that" NSW team at 23; later, Ponting was made Tasmania Captain in 1997-98 at 21 over Boon & his uncle, so that he could take the charge from Steve 3/4 years later. PCB appointed Misbah Captain at official 38 & his deputy at 31 (again official); however, the T20 decision was a bit over kill - they appointed a 16 years old as Captain.

Aamir probably finished his chance for those few more dollars, but if he is "clean" enough to be called back, he should be "pure" enough to be given Captaincy. If I were in PCB's position, I probably would have made Azhar as Misbah's deputy (& once Misbah retires, may be Aamir as 1st Deputy & Babar as 2nd Deputy) & Malik to take the LO Captaincy with Imad or Aamir as his deputy. Imad is extremely under-rated Captain in Pakistani ranks, he is educated, learned his game in UK clubs & led probably the best ever U19 side (definitely from PAK) for almost 3 years & he is a type of player you should think of a 10+ years career, at least in LOs. In ideal world, for LOs, Aamir should be made Captain after 2019 WC with Babar his Deputy & by 2020, both pair for Test as well - Imad can be Aamir's boss in T20 for few years, because I am not sure if he can keep his place in Test side on merit.

It'll be another "bad Day", if Azhar & Sarfraz is announced to continue for one more year.

You need to have Bradmanesque stats if you want the world to know about your opinions on fixers and whether they should return to international cricket or not.
 
There are people who think that if we win the upcoming T20 World Cup then Afridi will go down as the greatest Pakistani cricketer ever. :facepalm:

Yes but that also has to do with the fact that test batting standards have gone down further

1) When Hafeez is looked up to as a senior player who has been there and done it all, the one for the youngsters to look up to when the going gets tough.

2) When Umar Gul is described as the 'spearhead' of a pace attack - talk about blunt spears!

3) When Umar Akmal is described as your most 'talented' batsman - back in the day when I watched real cricket, a batsman had to score 50s and 100s and know how to build an innings to be seen as talented, not just hit and miss your way to flashy 20s or 30s.
 
Pakistans best bowlers in past 5 years:

Asif: banned for fixing
Amir: fixing
Ajmal: chucking
Yasir: doping

All I will say is it would be tough being a pak fan right now
 
1 When shehzad, hafeez, asad, sarfraz, rizwan, maqsood, anwar ali keep selected again and again
2 When our sensible selectors and coaches are thinking of making someone open who is lazy, who got slow hands, slow feet, weak on short stuff and problably also cant play swing

2 When azhar ali is still the captain and in the team
3 When the best captain in the country, malik is not made captain
4 When imad wasim is not being groomed as future captain
5 When the extra ordinary talent nauman anwar is being ignored
6 When the best openers in the country nauman and sharjeel are not in the team
7 When haris sohail is not able to play
8 When umer akmal is not in the odi team
9 When neither of the players selected are complete allround batsmens except babar azam (with more exposure ll become great), umer akmal and malik is also decent he is more needed as a captain.

10 When we still aren't able to play the aggressive brand of cricket .Btw I am not shocked, bcz if u wont bring players who are complete allround cricketers. Who got the ability to play proper calculated strokes, able to find the gaps, less dot balls while maintaining a sr of 100 to 110 and able to play at a sr of 160 or more when needed. Then I am not shocked that we aren't able to play the aggressive brand of cricket, bcz slogging isn't modern day cricket mr azhar ali and co, I am sorry.

11 When u are one of the worst teams in modern day cricket. Again I am not shocked at all that we are placed at 8 or 9.

So basically what you are trying to say is that things are bad because Malik isn't the captain and Nauman Anwar, Sharjeel and Umer Akmal aren't in the ODI team.

I just hope you know that Haris Sohail is injured.
 
I am surprised this thread hasn't raised its head considering the Asia cup/WT20 debacle.

So here goes:

1) When you are relying on Bangladesh to beat the team you cant beat.
2) Only joy is seeing India loose rather than your team win.
3) Any win comes as a relief. (Bangladesh, UAE etc)
