Clearly, the Indian team stopped trying to win the game but I have no idea why. It's arrogance I guess from Dhoni but this is just a pathetic way to play the game.

Would Pakistan have done anything different in a similar situation?
Never tried to chase it.
All playing for personal records.
Aus would have chased this down or at least went for it not given up with 5 overs to go.
Match was over once Pandya got out
OK they did lose on purpose but at least make it look like they are at least trying , The way in which they setup Pakistan exit is pretty bizarre and unprofessional , Like I said earlier Basit was right.
Go check out Aus's chase against us before saying they would had chased this lol
"Even we could have accelerated and got to the target because the pitch was flat... but I think their bowlers bowled well" - Kohli at the post-match presentation.
Kohli knows but the poor guy can't do much.
Credit goes to Plunkett as well. Excellent cutters and he got Kohli, Pant, Pandya the only three guys that showed intent and could have won it for India. I dia should have gone with BK instead of one of the spinners too

Posters have not seen us chase in bilateral , Indian fans have been complaining about this situation for 2 effin years now and still posters think India did it deliberately.
Also without Dhawan we are playing with Rahul, you guys have no idea what a big downgrade that is for ICC touneys
C'mon man. We Indians and Pakistani fans see conspiracy every where. Lets give credit to the England players for outplaying India in all the departments.
Just ask yourself, if Pakistan situation was not dependent on this match, most Pakistan fans would have used this match to exclaim how bad this India team is. Now instead we are hearing something else.
It is just the context of the Pakistan survival chances that is making Pakistan fans imagine something that was simply not there. India tried its level best. The better team won. The game of cricket was the winner. As cricket fans lets celebrate this hard fought match and applaud the winners.
I said Aus would have chased THIS down today. If you think every cricket match is the same, you're wasting your time watching this sport.
The same strategy yes but a failed strategy. However the difference is Aussies tried to hit and got out. India didn't in the last 5 overs. Zero intent
Lol, it's about the lack of intent in the last five, when India had five wickets in hand. Even Kohli was hinting at the "discussions the two guys had in the middle" and that he will need to "sit down and assess situations".
Why does India care if Pakistan makes the Semis or not?
After Pandya got out, the chances of an India win went almost to 0 anyways.
Is it Indias fault Pakistan folded for 105 against West Indies?
Or when they beat us?
Or when we lost to Australia?
Shouldn't have to depend on others to make the semis. Win your own games first.
Hahaah PPers are so gullible , always ready to believe in conspiry theories. Simple fact is Indian batting is just rubbish. Rohit and Kohli are the only 2 batsmen we have.
India still in the game until pant got out.If dhoni plays like this in a must win game, he will be definitely dropped from the team after wc.
I'd be really annoyed if i was an indian fan. You can't not try, its insulting to fans and your country.
I don't see India winning the World Cup with this approach towards the game.
We are talking about intent here. 100 runs needed of last 10 overs with 6-7 wickets at hand. ENG was in similar position and they score 92, despite Bumrah brillant bowling.
Maybe that's why no single boundary was hit from overs 46-49? and 60 odd were scored in the last 10? Do not expose your lack of knowledge.
At half time told my misses... India to loose by 25-35 runs...
not happening though.Today India hit Pakistan where it hurts the most.
All this talk of friendship among neighbours is a sham. Machiavellian approach by India showed this.
If i could ask for a couple of miracles i would ask that Bangladesh and Srilanka both beat India by heavy margins.
We were in similar position in 2009 and fought tooth and nail against a marauding Aussie side, only losing in the last over of the match while defending a small score.

Yeah it was such a difficult total to chase down...
So we are just going to play dots balls, leave balls and show no intention of playing any shots and call it a day...
Difficulty scoring is one thing...not even making an attempt at it is another...India is guilty of the latter and hence they deliberately lost this match...
No different than W. Germany Vs. Austria in 1982 football WC...

2009? Which match was this?
No intent to win looked deliberate attempt
