Zakir Naik - What do you think of him?

you made the analogy. I merely agreed with your analogy

Yup, becos religion has caused no deaths.

and atheistic dogma commands atheists to go out kill becos they will reach heaven in afterlife... oh wait...

I no where said religious wars did not occur , they did , but if you want to discuss about Islam and wars , make a thread I will come there.

I would say not to worry about his rants. He is more concerned about old testament and its instructions to kill people, he thinks God is an evil entity ordering it's creation to kill each other (for no good reason)

I am sure he is a closet Islamophobe as well dressed as an equal opportunity religion basher.

<SNIP>

Maybe you can answer this
here is my question to all theists.

did god have foreknowledge of this tragedy?

Is he capable of preventing this tragedy? 1) Either god is omniscient + omnipotent to stop this or 2) he wasn't. Or 3) he is not all that merciful

It seems that faith has triumphed over science.
He just likes to phrase his thoughts that way. He is trying to provide the negative evidence of God so to speak. I know it’s nonsensical and he thinks of it probably as a bit of genius but here it is. 🤦‍♂️

What @Stewie wrote , do you agree with that ?

yup. I'm an athiest. If there is a god I'll be an anti-theist.

Islamophobia is a convenient ruse for islamists to hide behind.

how about you answer my question.
Atheists don’t believe in god. So you fail that first test if we follow your views here.

You seem to believe in god but think god is evil. You are more of a satanist if you ask me. Lol.

was god incapable of preventing tragedies like kids drowning or is he indifferent?

sure.

Dude I could point you in the direction of a tons of publications, explanations on the matter, question is are you going to pay any attention? I am sure this has been answered a hundred times in the past but if you are not willing to try and understand the concepts wht good is this whole exercise?

So I am going to take one more attempt at this fi sabeel Allah. Agay murdey mein Jaan to sirf Allah hi daal Sakta hai.

Nothing in this world happens without Allah's knowledge or consent. If you study theology of the Abrahamic FAITHS, this goes back to the creation of Adam. In Muslim tradition, God asked Lucifer to bow to Adam. He refused. God had given the creation the power of choice or free will so considered it superior to the rest of the creation. Lucifer refused to accept it. Since then there has been a battle between good and evil. God banished Lucifer and told him he can try and corrupt man till Judgment Day. This is a test of man to see what choice he makes. God is going to give Lucifer a freehand till Judgment Day and let him corrupt all the men he can. Eventually the good will prevail.

So all the tragedies and evil, they are a test of man. God knows about them, he can definitely prevent them. But he has given Lucifer a free hand. Muslims believe this life and world is merely a fleeting moment in the grander scheme of things so make all the sacrifices here and do the right things and you shall reap the rewards in the after life. All the victims of tragedies and evil and injustice in the world, will be taken care of by God in the afterlife.

This is religion 101 by the way. I may have made a few errors or mistakes in my post and I welcome others to correct them. It has been a while since I studied this stuff but I think I caught the first for the severely uneducated in this regard.

So now I am sure you are not going to stop asking this idiotic question, @rpant_gabba. To the non-believers this will sound like a fantasy tale and I am not going to lie it does. But this is the reason why all the evil happens in the world.

ABSTRACT‘The Problem of Evil’ has continued to survive as one of the most contested issues in the historyof philosophy of religion. This thesis aims at contributing to the existing literature by exploringthe notion of evil in the Qur’an and Islamic Mystical thought as expressed in the writings of Jalalad-Din Rumi and Muhammad Iqbal. The Qur’an sheds light on various shades of moral evil andexplains how they are manifested through the actions of various agents. When it comes tonatural evil and human suffering resulting from it, the Qur’an provides a utilitarian place for it inhuman life. Rumi and Iqbal, whose mystical views are rooted in the Quran, argue that evil isrelative, and that evil has an important role to play in advancing the spiritual development of anindividual. Moreover, Rumi regards evil as a logical necessity for the functioning of life in thisworld.

He was capable but he didn't. We are nothing but a LEGO set to him.

Once again, you guys have adopted the approach to prove a negative since you cannot disprove the positive. I think it’s the wrong approach but sure go ahead.

To the non-believers this will sound like a fantasy tale and I am not going to lie it does.
Won't disagree with you there.
But this is the reason why all the evil happens in the world.
Sounds like passing the buck

Can you explain the merciful part of the tale when he sits and watches kids drown, getting raped by preist etc. doenst soudn very merciful to me

What do u mean ?
You cannot prove or disprove the existence of God as the creator and responsible for all things that exist. So now you are trying to posit that IF God exists, why is he allowing for all the bad things to happen in this world. Thereby trying to prove either God doesn’t exist or if He does, he is some malevolent force and nota benevolent creator. I think that’s the angle @rpant_gabba is coming from.

Hope that made sense

If that’s what it sounds like to you, what can I say. I am not trying to prove anything or convince anyone of anything. You are free to believe what you believe.
I just gave you the background and answer to your question. You will find the same answer from almost all the believers. If we are all passing the buck, well.. nothing further to discuss then.

yup. I'm an athiest. If there is a god I'll be an anti-theist.

Islamophobia is a convenient ruse for islamists to hide behind.

how about you answer my question.
So if you believe God is an evil entity , that means you believe in an entity , now your question is regarding the attributes of God, not existence of God.

So excited to have Dr Zakir in Pakistan. It was my dream to have him give a talk in Pakistan.

who are the real ones?

What is the purpose of saying ? Will that answer the initial question I posed ? You are not good enough to see the fallacy you have. If tomorrow I say my professor is an evil person , and then I say I do not believe in the existence of my professor , what does that show ? My knowledge or ignorance ?

In order my professor to be evil , he needs to exist.

‘Eligible For Marriage’: In Pakistan Orphanage, Zakir Naik Says Orphaned Girls Can’t Be Referred To As Daughters

Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik sparked controversy by leaving the stage abruptly during an event hosted by the Pakistan Sweet Home Foundation, which supports orphaned girls, on Wednesday.Naik was invited to present awards to the young orphaned girls but exited the venue when the host called them for felicitation.

In Pakistan Zakir Naik was in an orphanage. When the little orphan girls were called on the stage to receive the shield, he left the stage without giving the shield. His argument is that these little girls are of marriageable age, so for Muslim men should not be associated with… pic.twitter.com/UxpHJEfw2K— Imtiaz Mahmood (@ImtiazMadmood) October 2, 2024. The incident occurred when the announcer referred to the girls as “daughters”. Naik said it was inappropriate for the announcer to refer to the girls as his “daughters”.

“You cannot touch them or call them your daughters,” he said, citing that the girls were considered “non-mahrams”.

In Islamic terminology, “non-mahrams” refers to individuals who are not closely related and are thus eligible for marriage.

Zakir Naik is scheduled to deliver a series of public speeches in major Pakistani cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore, as reported by Pakistani newspaper The Tribune. In addition to his talks, Naik is expected to lead and address Friday prayer congregations during his visit.

Naik was accorded a red carpet welcome by the Pakistani government. The preacher later met deputy prime minister Ishaq Dar ahead of his meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Since 2016, Naik has been residing in Malaysia following the initiation of legal proceedings against him by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA has charged him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code (now known as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita).

India has sought Naik’s extradition to face charges, but Malaysia has yet to comply with this request.

Hopefully, people can learn something positive from this visit. Too much negativity is spread everywhere in Pakistan atm.

I wasn't a fan of him but seeing the insane Indian reaction to him it's clear this man must be protected at all costs.

He was seen as a relatively harmless religious preacher who's life was dedicated to spreading Islam prior to the rise in hindutva. Since then he has been elevated into some sort of boogie man due to internet chatter by hindutva bots, to the point where he was banned from preaching in other countries as well, ironically the same countries which welcomed the once banned Butcher of Gujarat once he won elections.

Any evidence to justify the butcher epithet?

Zakir Naik is not spreading just Islam. He is spreading Islamism. He is a great foot soldier for Islam, but his services are wasted in countries like Pakistan, where he will be preaching to the choir.

Pak organisers should have planned this better. It maybe not to your understanding but there are various schools of thought. Naik is more conservative, he feels it’s wrong to stand next to a teenage or adult women . He excused himself in order to follow his belief & in that belief is in his opinion respecting the females on stage next to him .

His intent wasn’t to be disrespectful to them, it’s pretty obvious to anyone who has passed junior school.

There are many so called scholars from all religions who openly agree with criminal aspects esp in India. Ie many Hindu scholars believe Vishnu disguised himself as a woman’s husband to assault her in an explicit manners . That’s evil intent towards women , Naik hasn’t such views of treatment of women. I’m not a fan but pls use some sense , instead of hate.

Btw countries laugh at him being wanted by the bjp government. The man converted more Hindus than modi made cups of chai . Real reason why he’s hated

This shows the difference between Indian Muslims and Pakistani Muslims. We are very moderate compared to them. Even our most kattar mullah would not have done something like this. 🤣

Dr. Zakir Naik, an ordinary preacher, gets to meet the PM of Pakistan?
Didn't think it would be so easy for someone so insignificant in the scheme of things to meet such a high level, senior leader in Pakistan.
Or maybe the PM of Pakistan isn't as important as we are led to think.

Brother raised a good point but Zakir will find himself more at home in neighbouring Afghanistan.

Now check, its been posted in Pak news outlets as well. Looks like you are proven wrong yet again.

Why are you hiding behind India?

Pls tell us why is he banned in UK, the country you live, if he is so intelligent?

Brit Pakistanis are avoiding this topic like a plague :ma

just curious, him being Indian, he's banned from his native country , it seems strange.

Hate speech laws were implemented to ban Naik to enter UK. However his Peace Channel is still given air time. Maybe in the future his ban will be lifted, similar to when butcher of Gujraat Modhi was banned from entry to UK for best part of a decade.

why is he hated so much in India?

He is a highly intelligent guy.
Have you listened to him?

I'm against him being banned in India but he comes across as a buffoon who tries to sound knowledgeable on subject he has barely any knowledge on. Mostly his job is to mislead Muslims...I honestly don't think he bothers with other religions too much. He's been provocative a few times demeaning other religions but he should've just been charged with hate speech like a few folks have been.

Yes. But hate speech is nothing new in india. There was a facist hindutwa pandit who threatened to destroy Mecca! He should be booted out ?

I think he was charged. Plenty of folks have been charged on allegations of hate speech against Islam too. Do you have his name? Was trying to google it to check if he has indeed was charged though I suppose it's possible he got away with it if he was in one of the BJP government states.

Irrespective, Zakir Naik was rightly charged for hate speech. If he believes he's an Indian, he should return to India, get a good lawyer and face the charges. Shouldn't be an issue. There's Muslim politicians like Owaisi who've used hate speech as well, been charged and are fighting the charges in the court.

I suppose he's a bit like those Hindu 'Guru' Buffoons who don't want to face the law. There was one holed up in his 'Ashram' and had to be dragged out by the cops after an armed confrontation with his followers.

You said he is an intelligent person. Why did the UK ban him then under hate speech?
I think he's a highly intelligent individual, who took guidance from the Great Dr israr Ahmad.

As a UK citizen, I will always obide and respect the law. If Mr Naik fell short of these standards on that occasion then he was barred, just like Mohdi, for a full decade.

So you accept Indian Muslims are extremists
I accepted a long time ago that stereotyping and generalization is bad because it achieves no purpose. But overall, I have noticed that "some" Pakistani Muslims have gone a lot left and "some" Indian Muslims have gone a lot to the right. I say this from personal experience because I have dealt with both in the US. Admittedly, I have not lived in Pakistan since the early 90s, and I am told after 9/11 and due to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the Pakistanis have also gone towards the conservative and religious side, but I cannot personally speak to it much. But I compare some of the Indian Muslims I meet today in the US to Pakistanis I remember from the 80s and 90s in Pakistan and I would say the Indian Muslims of today are definitely more conservative.

The Indian Muslims in a lot of ways are faced with the same situation American Muslims face. The dilemma of living in a culture and society where their views and traditions are in a minority and to retain their identity of faith, they become very conservative in their life, in their efforts to ensure their kids don't completely lose sight of their identity. Sometimes that causes kids to rebel and completely abandon their religious identity and sometimes they go the extra measures and can be added somewhere on the extremist spectrum.

First of all, its Modi and not Modhi.

Second, Modi was temporarily banned for an impending court case in India and not due to hate speech. Once he became PM, Britain laid the red carpet for him. Then prime minister Cameron felicitated him in Wembley stadium and sat entire 90 mins of his speech. I was one of the 80 thousand Indians that attended it. Modi was also one of the few selective global leaders that was allowed to give speech in UK parliament. Pakistan need to take re birth again to produce a leader like Modi.

So if you are trying to rile us up by bringing Modi into this discussion, you are doing a bad job in these debates like you mostly do.

Lets leave Modi out of this discussion and focus on Zakir Naik.

Pls tell us more about Peace TV bro...how is it?

Do you follow that channel?

What kind of peace it propagates?

Just curious

Living not sure
But show off , yes definitely !

Actually he is living Sunnah to the tee.

When I go pick up my 7yo daughter from school, the though of consummating with any of her friends does not cross my mind.

They are all my daughters. And their mothers as my sisters.

His vulgar mindset does not fit Pakistani purity and simpleness. Keep evil out, I say.

It's odd that someone's first two posts on a forum about cricket are about Zakir Naik.
