but, but it was the correct decision to bowl first because there was a hint of grass on day 1 :misbah

:)))

You have a class bowler, use him properly.

Complete tactical abortion from Misbah and Pakistan. Indefensible - though some will try

Whether that is true or not, a 0-0 or a 1-0 to Zimbabwe is a great result for them. The unfortunate truth of matches involving minnows is that the lowest-ranked team never has anything to lose. The onus was on Pakistan to prove they are the better team and so far they have failed.

True.

But with 'nothing to lose' you would expect them to play a bit more freely since the pressure isn't on them. They have done the opposite.

Good fight by Zim. They have more or less ensured they won't lose. Pakistan shouldn't get complacent by the way. Odds are they will out-bat Zim. However, there is one man who may derail their plans. Brian Vittori.

bruv I'm with you on that...just poking fun at the people who continue to defend their 'unsung hero' :)))

Part of me is actually glad this has happened. Zimbabwe will make 450+ and make a complete buffoon of Misbah's decision to bowl first on a batting wicket.

The mistake will then not be repeated against Sri Lanka and England.

If it's a flat wicket just BAT. Simple as that.

I don't disagree, but teams have to respect their own limitations. In these five sessions, Zimbabwe have done so and Pakistan have not. Zimbabwe have clearly come here with a strategy to put 400 on the board first up and create pressure - meanwhile, Pakistan have no evident strategy

The 'Pakistan will beat England 2-0 in the UAE' merchants seem to have gone a bit quiet.

Omg a new low for Pakistan, getting our backsides kicked by Zimbabwe.

We knew they would be tricky opposition and that they would put up a fight but they are simply dominating now.

as much as I'd like to believe this mistake will not be repeated, it's not the case...just wait and see, Misbah is way too predictable...

and the sad thing is, the other day before match started, me & my buddy were joking that watch Misbah decide to bowl first after he wins the toss and sure enough, 2 hrs later at the toss he did just that! :)))

Yes, to make the tour interesting Zimbabwe has to show some fighting skills but this is ridiculous.

Only explanation for this is that Mohammad Yousuf AKA 'Moyo' is playing for Zimbabwe in the guise of his alter ego - Tino 'Mawoyo'.

132.6
Sohail Khan to Lamb, no run, patient as ever, blocked to the right of the bowler
132.5
Sohail Khan to Lamb, no run, short of length ball and that is blocked to the leg side
132.4
Sohail Khan to Lamb, no run, pushed off the back foot towards mid-off
132.3
Sohail Khan to Lamb, no run, short of length ball, Lamb gets behind the line and defends
132.2
Sohail Khan to Lamb, no run, shortish ball on leg stump, Lamb moves across to try and nudge the ball to square leg but can't get bat on it, off his body to the off side
Zemzwa: "Might be too soon to call but its reassuring to see the patience in Zim's approach. Good to see a shade of maturity in a youthful side, should grow to do greater things. Keep going gents"
132.1
Sohail Khan to Lamb, no run, short ball, Lamb stands tall and defends

Rubbish exhibition of bowling

even though we drew against WI 1-1, which was a disappointing result, at least the pitches were conducive to results and made for far better viewing...this is just not a good advert for test cricket, slow batting + dead wicket and no signs of aggression from either side just calls for boredom from neutral's point of view...

it's pitches like these that makes one realize the greatness of :imran :wasim :waqar :akhtar :asif on their ability to take wickets even in the most harshest of conditions

This guy Tino Mawoyo reminds me of Dravid of old, blocking everything..

strange days are upon us. Suraj: "a bowler with 200 average bowling to a batsman with 100 average." Sohail Khan's bowling average is now 226.

Zimbabwe should hit out, try to reach 400-450 and declare. You never know what could happen with our fragile batting order.

I concur. And as I mentioned upthread, unlike the Pak opening attack, in Vitori and Jarvis Zim has a younger, pacier new ball attack which took IIRC 10 wickets out of 20 in the Bangladesh test. Won't be so easy.

Good effort, a long spell on a wicket which hasn't offered massive turn against batsmen who are just trying to survive against him. He looks tired as.

Cheema back. Misbah should tell him to go into yorker mode.

Attacking field set by Misbah, short leg, another slip, gully.
