Really impressed with Azhar.

Azhar is an EXTREMELY solid test player. But I really feel for him being a Pakistani.

He is a very old school test player. You bowl 5th stump, he will leave it all day. You try to ball around the wicket and pitch outside leg, he will kick it away all day. When the bowler gets frustrated and try to ball straighter, he's going to start to take advantage.

However, that means his strike rate will always be on the lower side. And the average Pakistani fan still prefers a 20 avg with an 80 strike rate over a 40+ average at a 60 strike rate, so he will always get criticized.

Extreme shame cause he's a great test player. Too early to compare in his career, but he could be similar to Dravid for us. Usually takes a good delivery to get him out.

I am not sure it has to be Fawad Alam, but Hafeez has NO business being in the Pakistani test team. Much like Misbah in 20/20, Hafeez needs to step aside in test matches.

I'd replace Hafeez in my test lineup. (Again, not necessarily with Fawad, cause I may prefer a slightly better test bowler)

Haha, ironically, i am exact opposite of you.

I think Fawad SHOULD be in the ODI team 100%.
For 20/20, depending on pitch or lineup, he would be in my team - but def in my 15 man squad.

For tests, maybe. Cause right now, he would replace Hafeez for me. But then we have 4 bowlers + Fawad/Azhar. I rather have a slightly better 5th bowler. Because on UAE (dead tracks), I think you play 3 pace bowlers + Ajmal, so I want at least a semi-attack 2nd spinner. Or if I play 2 spinners + 2 pace bowlers, I want another medium pacer.

But I agree that Fawad deserves a chance. The man has been so consistent, and when you watch him, he just gives a 100%. Love his effort.
