2 Indian aircraft violating Pakistani airspace shot down; pilot arrested

I still think India will go for ceasefire first.

Will happen in next 48 hours after Pakistan makes more attacks.
 
Captured Pilot's full name is Varthamanan Abhinandan. His native is from Tamil Nadu. Depressing.

This is the one captured. Damn, feel for him and his family. War or battles is something that I will never support. Sad times. De-escalation needed, not war.

He was blindfolded and in enemy territory. He could have been caught by the ISI or, in his brainwashed mind, one of the hundreds of terrorist groups and non-state actors working in Pakistan.

Only a fool would question Pakistan and believe India at this point.

The Major said that they could have downed their original target, which was a military post, but did not because it would result in civilian deaths. On the other hand, India has killed two children due to their indiscriminate cross-border firing. There is only one terrorist nation in all this.

Why feel bad for him? This guy would have dropped missiles on Pakistani villages killing innocent civilians without even thinking twice.

Have some shame brother. You were chest thumping for Indians yesterday as we did not strike down their planes as we did not wanted escalations. Now that you nation has given Indians a befitting reply you ate looking for other things to criticise Pak like oh F16 is better than Mig 21 , oh defence minister is quiet. At least utter fee words in praise of brave PAF who chased down Indians and shot their planes, and avoided civilian casualties.
 
Indians claim they have downed an F-16, Pakistan claims they haven’t even engaged their premier jet.

Just goes to show how easy it is to lie in these situations, because clearly, one party is making up stuff here.

I don’t want to have a biased outlook, but I find it hard to believe that Pakistan will engage F-16s unless and until there is a full blown war.

No one is stupid enough to risk its best jets and best pilots in these situations.
 
Yup, it's official. PAK army has released a new image of a crashed Fighter Jet. It is a single seat Mig-21 flew by Vathamanan Abhinanthan.

If PAF did shoot down the second aircraft and arrested two pilots, its either Mig-29 or SU-30. The 2nd and 3rd pilots were caught not far from each other, hinting that they were operating the same aircraft.

The pilot must be treated respectfully. I did't like him being openly filmed and his hands being held. Respect comes first regardless of your enemy's antics

Gen Ghafoor only mentioned two pilots, one of whome is in CMH. Nobody mentioned three captured pilots.

DG ISPR didn't claim it. It's only the media.. DG ISPR said in the press briefing that they have taken down 2 other planes not the one which crushed in budgam.. whether you believe it or not is your preogrative... the video of the captured Indian pilot actually validates the DG ISPR claims..
 
it is good if India is denying that anything has happened. Win win situation for both the countries. Lets play cricket now :D

Then its another Mig-21 or a Mig-27. Wondering why we sent f-ing Flying coffins. Did we want to test ? WTH is this ? Should have sent a compatible fighter jet.

Do pilots only operate one type of jet? Or are they treated like any other vehicle with none being assigned to specific pilots?

F-16 is better than MiG-21 and Pervez Khattak has no authority over our forces. Both are facts.

I believe that Pakistan should have downed the jets when they embarked on a night adventure yesterday. The fact that Indian jets invaded our airspace and left unscathed made Pakistan look weak.

It was important for Pakistan to retaliate, but our response was not proportionate to India’s. It was over and above.

India can always get away with a technicality that they didn’t attack Pakistan; they attacked a non-state actor that took responsibility for a terror attack on Indian soil.

However, Pakistan did not attack an alleged terrorist hideout - they openly engaged India in an act of war.

The sensible thing for India now is to call it even and let the matter settle here. Neither Pakistan nor India can afford a full-scale war, especially Pakistan that has no money and is begging other countries for investment.

The best jets are assigned to the best pilots, and they are not engaged unless there is a crisis.
 
Can any one of my indian friends show us the the F16 pics or video ( which we haven't even used) the fake indian news mafia is claiming to have shot down.

Good from Pakistan to save their dignity. Commendable from Asif Ghafoor to STILL vouch for tabletalks. War, in no capacity whatsoever, is the answer. Dialogue is the only way this situation can be dealt with.

There were several violations from both sides, Pakistan dropped a couple of Indian jets in the course of all this

You just cannot help your self toning Indian line. Every third world and developing country needs investment and aid. Only few years back your beloved India was being paying donation by uk and there were big debates here that India is doing rather well so why are we still giving them charity.
And it's no way even in the battle as India did nothing special other than like nose in Pak and ran away with tails between their legs. There is still no evidence of any camp they bombed, but in return they lost two planes and 2 or3 pilots captured, and even their super sonic helicaptors start to fail in fear.

Exactly. However, Pakistan will solely be playing into Modi's hands. This is what he wants. It's a win-win situation for him personally, not India. Either the elections will be postponed or the general sentiment in India will cause him to garner sympathy votes.
 
The best part of DG ISPR presser was that Army isn't doing any chest thumping and hoo haa and is still asking for peace talk and PM IK speech is coming shortly he will probably again ask India to sit on table and talk instead of warmongering.

We can't run low on oil in just a day. Even in 65, we were able to operate for few weeks.
 
How come Pakistan always come up with footages / pics and videos as evidence but India just give us words and big claims?

2. Our aircraft have been shot down.
3. A pilot has been captured and his life is in danger.
4. We haven't shot anything down, leave alone an F-16 since they didn't even take to the skies today.
5. All our commercial flights are screwed. Refer the other thread for more.

What India don't realise is that Pakistan is a battle hardened army we have been fighting for last 15 years and almost every soldier served in this war on terror and PAF was used regularly there too.

Pak won this, yes. But I'm saying DG ISPR confirmed India encroached Pak air space yesterday. The only doubt was about the 300 number.

PM IK speech is also coming up shortly let's see what's in it. He just had a meeting of National Command Authority (command and control of pak nukes/missiles). I believe he will again offer india a chance to sit on table and talk for the third time. Pak Army presser also mentioned same they want to give peace a chance even after all this and india to need realize this Army isn't same like past this one really want to give peace a chance and is fully on board with PM IK.

I hope India now stops this escalation to spare the lives of innocent soldiers and civilians.

Still, I wonder what was the need for him to cross the border after yesterday's successful mission. We have completed our goal. This was unnecessary. Should have waited for Pakistanis to make their move.

Battlle hardened is just a humbug. Everyone's trained. If one looks at this objectively, it was a 2 day battle between two subpar forces with Pak claiming a win at the end in the battle of the weaklings. Pak for letting India scot free even after the encroachment on day 1 and India losing 2 jets and pilots on day 2. I can't even contemplate on how stupid the PR was. DG ISPR shouldnt have confessed to anything. India shouldnt have claimed 300 numbers without proof. The chest thumping etc...Hope it ends here and everybody learns their lesson.

Maybe the embarrassment of being exposed after yesterday rankled and hence the 2nd attempted mission. Winning elections is the goal of every politician, but risking the lives of millions to do it can be a dangerous game. In PK the only institution that works is our armed forces, they should be able to defend PK and IA they will.

Kinda agree with you but my point about being battle hardened was that if a war at small level begins thn maybe we are no match to india in size/economy but are capable enough to surprise india because of the experience gained (although i don't think a war even at small level is gonna happen)
 
Reports on geo the wing commander is the son of a retired Air Marshal. Not from a small family. His family will put a lot of pressure on Indian govt for the release.
