Today It's South Africa vs West Indies...

Will West Indies, upset the odds to beat South Africa, or will South Africa come back to its winning ways.

Today it's about Amla and De Villiers.

Interesting match.

Will the result affect Pakistan?

Lots of things to ponder over as we wait for the start of the spectacle !

Hoping to see Amla play today. One of the few True batsmen left in today's game, can score a 100 without one slog shot.

It's important to win this one to finish 1/2 in this group.

Amla the choker? If they bat first then I will put my house on Amla getting 100, but if they chase he is guaranteed to fail.

Blah blah blah.....Amla is the greatest choker unless he scores 100 runs in less than 105 balls, has to be while he's batting second with overcast skies and a shade of green in the pitch and one hand tied behind his back.

Otherwise, it doesn't count and he sucks as a cricketer. Should retire asap.

You said it.

So batting first and scoring big runs in a crucial WC match is not going to get credit?

I don't understand the Amla bashing.

If a cricketer is mediocre, and he is glorified, like Moeen Ali, i could understand.

Amla is a gun batsmen, and most attacks on him are unjustified.

Hoping for a Windies win, would spice up the world cup. Also would make sure that Sa play NZ/Aus in the quarters and probably get knocked out

Amla Bhai getting some unwarranted hate. Because he makes his runs in bilaterals and not in tournaments it means he is a non threat? There are batsmen worse than him in bilaterals and at his level in tournaments, yet they are expected to do big things at the World Cup.

Looks the Amla will be showing up today, no pressure, no chase, the FTB will be at ease.

The Amla hate is OTT at times. Just irrational and not worthy of any argument.

Anyway, I give a freaking toss about Amla or anyone else specific scoring big runs. I simply want SA to post a big total.

147kph from Taylor. He is another bowler who sustains his pace quite well. Good to see him back.

True. Proteas need a solid foundation. Rossouw needs to have a decent bat. AB needs to perform. On average he gets 50 every second game so he is overdue. 5th bowler is the problem with Behardien, Faf and AB gonna have to share.

If we don't lose wickets in the first 10 overs then we are likely to put a big total. I don't think 5th bowler will be that big an issue if others bowl well. WI is still a shaky batting line up.

Yeah, once Gayle is gone, then things are OK.

This WC formula to score 300 is pretty straightforward. Looks like SA think tank is realizing that now.

Weather you chase or bat first, formula remains same.

Terrible batting. Couldn't rotate strike so he just tried to hit the ball really hard.

Yes that why he has trouble when he is under pressure of a chase.

Don't know why my thread related to Sanga's ability to handle pace and bounce was deleted.

It is sad that Amla's criticism is taken so poorly in Pakpassion.

Crap, kids is gone. Not looking good effort by him. He needs avoid hitting in air early on.

Yep exactly, Amla is just a good ordinary player.

Yes Amla is looking good for a 100, another donkeys 100, MCG is so flat, all the Aussie grounds are flat expect for the Gabba and Perth but even Perth has slowed down.

Lol now I know not to take you seriously. Quickest batsman to 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000. Averages well over 50. You can question his ability in chases and his mettle in world cups, but to call him ordinary is just weak.

Hash has to still get 12 more runs then statistically Proteas have won this game. ;)

Sometime they come up with really funny analysis. I remember seeing something like when Indians score 280+ then India win more often. Any team will win more often if they put 280+

Yep, that's exactly what he is ordinary, don't get me wrong he is ok but those stats are meaningless.

Really wanted to see de Kock score here. Classy left hander, looks good when on song :amin

I feel like WI will take some quick wickets, only for ABD or Minnow Basher Duminy to take the game away at the end, with Amla sticking around for some time.

Good start by the West Indies keeping it tight.
But goodness me have we beefed up our batting today.
