The west indies bowling has been **** to be honest. But still, credit to AB to absolutely murder them.

rohit too scores 200 for fun ...this de villier innings is not special...he too got dropped many times....but still i agree de villier is best batsman in the world followed up by kohli

de villiers is best in any format i suppose i agree and followed by kohli or steve smith on the current form probably

No one disputes AB's Test credentials..
 
ICC tournaments happen fairly infrequently, by claiming that the only achievements that cement a players' status are these biennial and quadrennial tourneys - and that too one or 2 games - you are indirectly suggesting that 90% of cricket is irrelevant.
 
When de Villiers wins a knockout for his team, people will stop. Actually not that hard to understand, but yes since the narrative is set, everyone has to oblige.

sachin cant take 20 wickets to win a test match..have your basics right...you need to 20 wickets to win test match...we would have won series in south africa recently had our bowlers took 20 wickets ...anyway i agree abd is best batsman at the moment ...there is no doubt....he is excellent athlete too

The way Kohli is playing the anchor role these days, I would pick AB de Villers. AB is a game changer, would win you games on his own.

Out of curiousity if you wanted a test series won in Australai and your backs were against it or chaing 400 who would you choose JP or Tendulkar?

It's not irrelevant, but you can't achieve legendary greatness if you don't help your team win big games in ICC tournaments. Wasim's heroics in Sharjah Cups would have been useless had he not stood up for us in Melbourne.

Inzamam's runs in ODIs would have had little value without his epic in the semifinal. Moments like these create legends.

So AB has to take 20 wickets and score runs for everyone and keep wickets too. OK I got it....

It is a matter of opinion I suppose. it's a very smallsample size to judge how good a player has been IMO, Shikar Dhawan would be better than Amla if that was the case. It's not too different I suppose to saying Messi and Ronaldo can't be considered as good as Pele or Maradona because they haven't carried their national teams.

why would abd have to take 20wickets when you have dale steyn...morne morkel...phillander in your bowling line up man.....i bet give any two bowlers to us for a year and see how can we become n.o 1 test team ....and we will give you ishant..shami.umesh...then come and talk..most of our fast bowlers are worse overseas in test matches specially....only 1 time in all the overseas test matches they took 20 wickets in greenest pitch of lord and we won that that match.......

Messi hasn't? Lol.

This World Cup is his best chance. If he doesn't win a knockout for South Africa, he can't be regarded an ODI legend in my book.

WI is not going to chase 400 so simply slogging will be on display here by WI. If they are smart then they will try to get as close as possible and not take a big hit in RR.

We get told its easy bowling outside Asia especially in SA and what not (case in point Vernon not being rated). But these very same people come and moan about not having a bowling attack to take 20 wickets in easy bowling conditions. How is that for logic?

Also tests are not different from ODi's its till a team game, you don't win matches on your own its a myth.
When I apply peoples logic on them they change goal posts with petty excuses. At least let's be consistent then we will have base for a debate.

He is bowling crap though. Not bowling full enouh for me. Ball is still swinging thanks to Abbot we have two wickets. Good teams would sette easily with this type off bowling. He should bowl full.

Not easier conditions for our bowlers for sure .to win test match you need to take 20 wickets too..anyway who is not accepting that abd is best at the moment?????

Mamoon and some of the posters on PP are hypocrites of the worst kind. I sort of accepted that some ppayers will never be juddged fairly even using their own criteria for greatness.

It's ridiculous to expect AB to win WC on his own. Forget about different formats, I consider SRT as the top 2-3 batsman in history of ODI and he was without WC in so many tries. He finally won because he had some gun players in his team in 2011.
