This Fakhar dude needs to go back to domestics and fix his hard-handed-offside technique, can't play on the leg side, also needs to better temperament

My point is Imam is trying hard to justify his uncle's decision of including him in ODIs by trying to play a type of game which is not natural to him.Imam might be slow but it is not like we are blessed with dynamic openers. Would take Imam over Farhan 100%.
If pak want to make semis in the world cup they gona have to go with
Fakhar
Sharjeel
Baba
These 3 will feast on uk pitches with Imam expect a group stage exit.
Don't like Imam at all as a batsman.

Infact the likes of Hafeez are crap as well.
150 runs to get with 9 wickets in hand. Perfect scenario for a bottler to show his class in a run chase.
Tagging a 24 years guy to be a bottler is a bit early. Yes till now he hasn't played a match winning knock chasing but its still early days.

I hope Babar opens in next game and we see both Fakhar and him opening for Pakistan regularly.
You just contradicted yourself, calling him a bottler, and then expecting him to chase this down. They don't go hand in hand.

Rather than trying non openers. Babar/fakhar should open. I would give Imam/Harris 1 down position.
I do. I think his foundation is very good and he should be given a long rope to see if he can build on it. It is not as if we are loaded with options. All this talk of Sharjeel coming back is fiction.
Please....Babar will surpass Kohli soon.
Babar is one heck of a player in his comfort zone.
Imam on the crease and we would have been 70/0 now.Hope he is ok.
That is how he plays , he cannot change himself at this stage of his career .
Boy do i hope he proves us wrong with regards to pressure situations.
Imam's injury (wishing quick recovery) actually exposes once again what UAE wicket has done to PAK batsmen. Long back, I saw an archive, where without helmet, Mazid smashed a similar ball through mid-on like a tennis double handed forehand ... off Mike Holding.
This is Pakistan's first ODI win against a good team in 10 attempts. This is the true capability of this team - a success factor of 25% - 30% over a large sample of games against teams like India, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia etc.
How else would people like to describe this win? And why does everyone expect me to wax lyrical about this team that does and will continue to lose more than half of its matches against the top half teams?
People did not like the word fluke, and they seem to have a problem with the Law of Averages phenomenon as well. If they expect me to celebrate and rejoice at lowering the losing percentage from 100% to 90%, it is not going to happen. I am not going to ignore the true capabilities of this mediocre team because they had a good day.
Fakhar finally..... the offside Fakhar is amazing but legside is equally bad. I hope he works hard on it and keep knocking legside balls in nets... that's the only way to improve
Maybe the problem is your expectations. You keep telling us that Pakistan Cricket is finished, in which case a 25% success rate against teams which are not 'finished' along with an ODI tournament win (no matter how fluky) is absolutely fine. So what if this gives fans of a 'minnow' level team choti choti khusiyaan?
1st Test starts in 7 days time and surely Imam shouldn't be playing that one after this accident. Time for Shan to make a come back?

He found a way around it today. Good strategy to carress it than to bludgeon balls on the on side. As the commies said, the way his bat comes down at an angle means it is very difficult for him to hit good length and full balls at pace to mid wicket or long on. Better to carress it to square leg or fine leg and that's what he did. Good players always find a way. He will only improve from here.
Who's gonna open with Fakhar?Fakhar Zaman says hiiiii.
Everyone who doubted my prediction of Pakistan chasing this down should be questioned now. I do not always bring bad news - I only bring news, which is mostly bad. However, it is not beyond me to bring glad tidings as well.
Who's gonna open with Fakhar?

Inzi has 83 ODI 50s my word lol
With all due respect to Imam, good player and good guy but i think Babar needs to open regularly in ODIs with Fakhar.
And only 10 ODI 100s.
Out of those 83 ODI 50s he should have converted at least 20 of those to centuries.
Now, I am not liking Fakhar - mentally he is an aggressive batsman who likes to dominate spinners; making an uncharacteristic hundred might be good for stats (and prove a point), but it won't change his situation much. He should be aggressive and attack Sodhi - if he gets out, so it be but one of the biggest mistake in cricket is to believe that stats would be better if an aggressive batsman curbs his basic instincts.
Once someone (Roubuck may be), asked Viv if he had gone for a SR of 60 (instead of 75) could his average gone higher? Viv said that, it would have reduced my average because I would have blocked about 2500 balls unnecessarily.
FZ is good as an aggressor, not steady operator - PAK has at least half a dozen to out perform him in that role.
Wasn't he a lower order batsman though?
And only 10 ODI 100s.
