Still you never won 5 tests in a row in SENA Just like you lost 5 home tests in a row to SENA teams.
Winning two test series in Australia is better and much bigger achievement. Ask England.

This defeat was depressing but that is sport. You win some and lose some. Atleast we fans dont hide when our team lose unlike...you know.

In the start if his career he scored a lot of soft runs. In the midle, he scored some good crucial runs but overrated runs.
He is good for india in tests so far, but I feel he is overrated as a batsman.

Pant scored a handful of good innings.
If you take those away, his records are pretty average.
In other words, Pant is highly overrated just like Bumrah.

SA are the WTC champions. They are also the #1 Test team currently (ranking shows #2 but they are practically #1).

Nahh, that is a dishonest evaluation.
How are crucial runs overrated?
He is one of the most high impact test player in the world. Scores impact runs and has helped us win series both home and away.

It's nothing dishonest. But I personnally think he is overrated. He surely has played a lot of good innings also.
Lets take the example of his hundred in SA.
He batted like a tailender all tour. In the last innings he scores an unbeaten hundred that make his stats look better, when his impact in the series wasn't good at all.
Time will tell, but for me Pant is overrated. But I also understand those who rate him highly in test cricket.

That match was the decider, it was no dead rubber.
His innings came under immense pressure, ao not sure how you are describing them as soft runs. Makes no sense.

Nothing wrong with players. Same players will do well next series and the hype bandwagon will continue.They just messed it with irregular selections, not backing anyone for long. Sarfaraz and Shreyas were contenders in Tests, both got dropped without enough backing. Pant has had frequent injuries and accidents, which has dealted his form.

Pant needs to show more maturity. He is fast turning into a sophisticated version of Shahid Afridi - just come out swinging , devil may care attitude
His carefree approach cost us the Melbourne test. Its high time he reins himself & becomes more of an calculated aggressor like Gilchrist instead of wild slogger

The selectors and coach for India need to be fired
I understand like most nations selection has favouritism, nepotism and corruption.
However, there surely must be some decent batsmen in indias domestic set up?
Picking a T20 line up, full of players who can't play a simple forward defence was asking for trouble. It's almost as though whoever selected the team thought "its only South Africa. We can beat then in tests with T20 players"
Heads have to roll after such retard planning

The body language of the players clearly shows they are not happy with Gambhir and selectors. Gambhir's bossy, confrontational approach was going to take a toll on the side.
