The Champions Trophy?
India have lost a match to kenya also why did not you know about it?check your history before bringing pak stats of 15 to 20 years old
Do you have any idea what my original post was about?
In isolation, yes. But he scored almost 5000 with 19 hundreds runs against minnows across all formats and obviously averages a good amount against them. Almost any batsman will have better numbers against minnows than they do against top teams but you can't remove that from their stats. Though you can dissect the stats deeper in order to come to a conclusion about the player's value.
5-0 whitewash in New Zealand.
And do you have to bring zim 25 year old series win against pakistan to justify your point ?
Stop evading my question. How do you know players already don't realize about the quality of opposition they are facing ATM?
Do you know any of them personally?
I think 5-0 whitewash might be mentioned more than CT in this thread.
This thread so far:

India last odi series in aus 4-1
Last nz odi series in nz 4-0.if top team like india have hiccup pakistan can effort to have.
That is far more relevant to this thread than the Champions Trophy Final.
What % of matches were played against these 2?
India has also beaten many top teams. This Pakistan team has played only one series against a top team in the last 12 months, and they were smashed.
The key is pakistan have played only one top side in last 12 month in odis
So a one off series with no acclimatization time is more valid than a Champions Trophy that had more games in it?
Obviously, in your biased world where India is awesome and we should become the Republic of India, it is.
It is easier to win three games on the trot against three different teams than five matches against the same team.
Why didn't India do it then? OR England?

Luck wasn’t on their side.
You have to look at the series itself and not just state the scoreline. Look at the preparation for it. Both practice matches were washed out. Conditions were far less conducive for batting than they are in Zimbabwe. We can all agree that that particular series from Babar is an aberration. He has scored in NZ in the past and it is a fact that he has the ability to do it again. A large part of Pakistan's failure was due Babar's poor series. Fakhar Zaman had a good series vs NZ too (and was injured for a game). Azhar Ali was awful and has been dropped. Asif Ali has been added in place of the disappointing Hafeez. Faheem's bowling has improved. Things have changed since that series and it's safe to say that Pakistan is a better team now, and if the series were to be replayed today. Pak. would win no less than 2 games. It's been largely blown out of proportion due to the fact that there is not much else ammunition to use against this Pakistan team which has been brilliant in the past year or so in Limited Overs cricket, regardless of the opposition.
Luck wasn’t on their side.
To be fair, India in the last 8-9 years has only 2 away ODI series win against big teams. The very recent SA tour and one in England in 2014.
This is a new look Pakistan team. Give it some more time. They were smashed in NZ for sure but so has India over the recent past.
Nothing wrong in minnow bashing.
But playing 5 odi’s is a bit too much against this Zim B team.
Series should have been 3 ODI ‘s at max.
I know that. It's Mamoon who can't seem to get it.

Probably gets it now as he hasn't replied![]()
I am not interested in hindsight. In spite of the lack of preparation, Azhar playing and Hafeez preferred to the ATG Asif Ali, almost everyone was very confident that Pakistan would win the series, or at least compete very well.
You can check the pre-series prediction thread to see for yourself.
That series wasn’t blown out of proportion; it is the true worth of this minnow bashing team that is still not good enough to beat the best teams in the world apart from one-off games.
Pakistan didn't just beat India in that one-off game on June 18. They battered, destroyed, humiliated and ruined them.
And it wasn't just a one-off match. It was the Final of the CT.
My guess is that the Champions Trophy Final will be referenced around 25 times in this thread.
You are as predictable as they come. Let me predict your posts in this thread:
1. We lost 5-0 to NZ.
2. We are a rubbish team.
3. CT win was a fluke.
4. India have the best batsmen, bowlers, fielders, captain, coach, selectors, etc
5. Runs in IPL hold more value than any shorter formats international cricket.
6. Kohli alone would have scored 700-800 runs had he played in this series.
Did I miss anything?

7. Pakistan needs to stop playing cricket.
Faheem is not a cricketer.
Pakistan beating India by 180 runs is a fluke but India winning by 5 runs against england in 2013 is well deserverd.
Yes because it's India not Pakistan.
Yes you did. India won’t play Kohli and other A list stars against Zimbabwe C.

How stupid you can be india play non stop cricket against top side in a year that is why they do rest their player for series against zim .on the other hand thanks to najam sethi we have played only two odi series this year so far.
I don't think any other top team has faced a situation where it went 32/8 in recent times. Doesn't matter whether it was new horse or old horse. That scorecard tells a story.

But but but I thought Najam Sethi was the best thing to happen to Pakistan cricket in a long time.)

Najam Sethi is not responsible for the fact that teams are not willing to play in Pakistan.
In fact, the few useless matches that we have hosted in Pakistan in the last three years against some bunch of farmers and teams with third rate players would not have been possible without Sethi, who is the best PCB head in many, many years.
That was even more of a fluke. It was a T20 due to the rain.
Has a top-ranked team ever lost an ICC final by 180 runs before?![]()
that's why it was a fluke. Because it was one time prospect. Because it was one off event where Pakistan gave punch more than its weight.
OK. Trolling aside, If I have to voice my honest opinion, I'll share a few points with Mamoon but not agree with everything. That we not the best i know but getting Azhar Ali and Hafeez dropped is a start hope Malik will be ax soon fom odi.
But this guy says anything Pakistan wins is fluke do you agree what he says?
India have lost a match to kenya also why did not you know about it?check your history before bringing pak stats of 15 to 20 years old
That's what the perfect definition of a fluke.
With that logic 32 for 8 is a fluke too.
No pakistan in uae we play in uae not in pakistan don.t try to act smart and sethi sahab how said we will be big4 after big3 turn out of be lie and we left stranded without any cricket as bcci outsmart him easily
Fluke is when your highest scoring batsman has 5 catches dropped in semi final and you go on to win the WC. India winning 2011 WC was the biggest fluke of all the flukes in history.
about 12% of sachin's matches were against minnows and he scored 14% of his overall runs against them. You can hardly call him a minnow basher.
From April to August, the UAE is too hot to host matches. As a result, Pakistan is not able to host any team for five months, which is a big problem.
If teams were willing to play in Pakistan, we would have been able to host teams during these five months.
Najam Sethi has been our best Chairman for years, but obviously he is not perfect. I don’t agree with him on his obsession of playing India.
The way we go to BCCI with a begging bowl every now and then is embarrassing.
Exactly! He was a below average cricketer and was even lower than Sadagoppan Ramesh in terms of skills. You guys are easily provoked. Wasting time talking about a comment made by Akash Chopra lol. Who and what is he?!
It could have been a fluke. But Pakistan is famous for dropping catches right and left. So it wasn't something unusual rather it was a common occurrence.
If it was aus or RSA where they hardly miss a catch, then you have a point that it could have been said a fluke.
Yeah. Had a staggering average of 23 after 10 test matches. May be he is upset he didn’t get a chance to improve his own average by bashing the minnows.Ex cricketer and opener. He used to open with Virender Sehwag and played an important part in many partnerships with Sehwag.
OK. Trolling aside, If I have to voice my honest opinion, I'll share a few points with Mamoon but not agree with everything.
In my honest opinion, Pakistan does have the ability. Somehow it could hit the weak points of a team. But his concerns are valid too.
People are getting too high after victory against Zimbabwe. If we put the same logic, vinay kumar, some binny guy would be world beater from India. But they suck in reality.
That does not mean Pakistan will follow the same suite. A fair judgement could be made after playing with 2-3 to teams and then decide.
Since Pakistan isn't playing against one, giving opinion on either way will be far fetched.
The Zimbabwe against which Tendulkar scored is not the Zimbabwe that we are playing in this series.
Even a full strength but weak Zimbabwe team has won a Test and ODI against us in the last few years, and were well on their way to embarrass us in the third ODI in Lahore in 2015.
This is Zimbabwe team is no better than Nepal. A complete joke of a series that should have been a 3 match ODI series at best.
And they were smashed.
And they were smashed.
Pakistan's win in CT could have been a fluke but Asian teams do not have a good record in New Zealand. So it wasn't something unusual to lose there rather it was a common occurrence.
do call it (Indias win) a fluke. I have no objection to that.India's record is 0-4 when they played ODIs last time in New Zealand (almost just after winning CT 2013). If India's record was better in New Zealand, then you have a point that Pakistan's CT 2017 win could have been said a fluke.
I guess you forgot this http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/...ndia-vs-sri-lanka-1st-odi-sl-in-india-2017-18England were 20 odd for 9 against new Zealand. Just a reminder.
I guess you forgot this http://www.espncricinfo.com/series/...ndia-vs-sri-lanka-1st-odi-sl-in-india-2017-18
29/7 against SL in India is definitely more embarrassing than 32/8 Vs NZ in NZ.
