New Delhi: The Indian Army would have retaliated if the Pakistan Air Force had succeeded in hitting the ammunition dump it targeted on the Rajouri-Poonch sector on February 27, a day after India struck a terror training camp in Pakistan's Balakot. This could have brought the two nuclear-armed neighbours precariously close to a full-blown war.

A day earlier, the Indian Air Force had carried out strikes on the terror training camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot. Reacting to this, the Pakistan Air Force launched "Operation Swift Retort", where they appeared to miss their targets, which were military installations in the Rajouri-Poonch sector along the Line of Control.

The Pakistan Air Force claims it deliberately missed the targets to send India a strong message of its capability. The Indian military establishment has always argued that the Pakistani Air Force simply missed their targets.

In an interaction today, senior army sources said if the Pakistani Air Force had indeed struck an ammunition depot that appeared to be one of their targets, the Indian army would have vigorously responded.

Senior sources have also told NDTV that there could also have been an escalation by the Indian army had another Pulwama-like situation taken place within days of the attack in which 40 personnel of the CRPF were killed by a suicide bomber.

Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has said: "The situation along the LoC can escalate at any time. We are prepared for a response along the retaliatory matrix."

Over the weekend, Air Chief Marshal ** Dhanoa (Retired), who commanded the Air Force during the Balakot attacks earlier this year, said that India was on the verge of escalating the conflict along the LoC if Pakistan had struck targets on Indian territory.

"Since the PAF had targeted military installations on the 27th of February (a day after India struck the Jaish-e-Mohammed camp near Balakot), the Pakistan Army had now become a legitimate target and had their strikes been successful, we would have put a considerable weight of attack on their forward brigades," he said.

Stopped reading after the highlighted part.

Pakistan provided evidence of not trying to hit anything, it was just a message that Pakistan can enter India territory at will and return soldiers with new clothes after providing him a fantastic cup of tea.

All these RSS/BJP/Hindutva are doing is trying to divert their attention from the draconian laws they have passed based on their perverting a religion and believes in an attempt to spread their false sense of supremacy.

What a joke this country is becoming, it is quite unbelievable that hate can deteriorate the way of thinking of 1 billion people collectively this rapidly.

Lol India got played big time.

The whole point was to draw the indian airforce to Pakistan territory and then bring them down.

It was the perfect set up

They're trying their best to divert the attention away from the CAB protests.

I won't be surprised if we see another false-flag op very soon.

No it wasn't. It was to show the intent and capability of inflicting crippling damage to Indian military in face of unprovoked aggression. Shooting down of IAF aircraft was done to safeguard the strike package. We provided footage of the Ammo dump in the crosshair of one of the H-4 SOW. At the last minute, it was diverted to an open lot nearby.

Coming back to this comical statement from thirchi topi bipin, it is like we went in, yanked his dhoti and chaddi , left him exposed. But if we had dared to touch his topi, all hell would have broken lose.
Paraphrasing uncle Ghafoor here, but we would have dominated these jokers on the escalation ladder, if they had foolish thought of climbing up the said ladder :D

Lols seems like NDTV trying to up it’s ratings before new year.

I won't be surprised if we see another false-flag op very soon.

Reports of Severe Clashes between Pakistan Army and Indian Army still going on in Multiple sectors of Neelum Valley.
Intense PAF CAP Activity at Several Locations including LoC.

We could have killed the Indian army chief if we wanted too. On purpose did we just miss him, next time we may just get the job done and we won't be shooting down tree's either like they do.

There is a saying in Urdu which perfectly encapsulates this situation....

"Larayi ke baad jo muqqa yaad aye, woh apnay moh pe hi mar lehna chahye"

NEW DELHI: Army chief Bipin Rawat on Thursday criticised the arson and violence during protests against the new citizenship law, saying “leaders are not those who lead people in inappropriate directions”.

“Leadership is all about leading... Even amongst the crowd you find leaders emerge. But leaders are those who lead people in the right direction. Leaders are not those who lead people in inappropriate directions, as we are witnessing in a large number of universities and college studen ..

Indian Army Chief stay far way from "hot zones". They are too valuable. The chief wouldn't have been anywhere close to the target location.

Yeah right! That is what your media told you then again you are rightfully admitting that he is a coward.. Not every general is as brave as Musharraf dining in enemy territory during the Kargil war.

Wait, are we talking about the same brave general who is on the run from the very country whose army he led? You couldn't make it up! :))

He is not leading the army anymore. Mush is the same man who had India on it's knee's at Kargil even according to Barkha Dutt's biography so feel free to read it. What he is falsely accused of does not question his bravery.

Thats not true, our COAS regularly visits LOC and I am sure your general has enough guts to atleast visit troops who are close to 'hot zones'.
