Ahmed Shehzad has been included in the T20I squad - What does that say for others vying for spots?

I cannot fathom his inclusion. I'm absolutely gobsmacked that, yet again, he's going to be in the squad let alone the final XI.

I just hope that doesn't mean he plays tomorrow

Management is giving him full confidence hoping that he will perform better. I think Shehzad lacks the ability and low confidence isn't the issue.

This is what pak cricket is about. Keep giving confidence to garbage and they 'll perform 2 out of 10 times. Same we did with UA, keep giving him chances in so many big games and all he did was complain about his batting position.

It's expected as he was MOM in the 3rd match against World XI

To be fair to him his last 4 T20I scores are:

89
43
39
53

He has truly been a failure in ODIs. Not the reason why he should be discarded for T20s

Are you guys incapable of a rational analysis? The guy scored 89 in his last T20 match and you want him dropped? For who exactly?

Top scorer of the PSL over the two seasons and has scored 89 in his last T20I. There is no justification required for his selection, it is self-explanatory. Others who are vying for his spot should first outscore him in the PSL which they haven't been able to.

To be fair to him, in spite of his miserable ODI performances, he has a decent T20I record.

PSL 1 top scorer was Umer Akmal and PSL2 was Kamran Akmal. and even if you combine both Umer Akmal has most runs. But agree Shahzad played well in both PSLs. just wanted to clarify the stats!

he's scored 171 runs in his last 3 T20's. Would've been totally unfair to drop him

the bigger crime is to continue selecting him in ODI's - should never play an ODI again

He deserves his place on basis of these performances, but the selectors should show consistency in their selections and drop him from ODIs going by same rule no?

Exactly. If you want consistency don't just hand-pick T20s - do the same for the ODIs and drop him.
