I would rather have Fakhar Zaman or Imam ul Haq in the side.

Sarfaraz , when first played for Pakistan , was a terrible batsman with low SR, on his comeback, had improved his SR remarkably. Why not Shehzad can be tried again after he has shown great form in domestic T20 and LO wih much better SR.
Bring in a slogger. Shehzad will get us runs but will us 0 games out of 10. A tullay-baaz, for example Shahzaib, Awais Zia, Jamshed (if he finds form somehow), Naved, or even Nauman Anwar, would win us at least 2 games out of 10 if he loses the rest. Shehzad has nothing to offer. Neither does Sami Aslam or Salman Butt or Azhar Ali or ANYONE with such a low strike rate. That totally destroys the momentum of the total innings and the middle order falls under the pressure of the run rate failing to make a positive impact.
A player with a higher strike rate, or in other words, a "slogger" would also not waste too many deliveries even if he does get out. So, in my opinion, playing a slogger would be a win-win situation for Pakistan.
Sarfraz had a low SR in his first 20 or so matches then improved.
Shehzad has played ODI cricket since 2009. His limit has been a strike-rate of 75 over a one-year period.
Dunno if he's improved now as his List A output shows, but the previous signs are not encouraging.
But you don;t have a Sehwaq or Gilchrist to pick from.
I would take these numbers with a bucket of salt. The quality of bowlers in our domestics is no where close to international standard. Also the level of captaincy and fielding is utterly atrocious. An international level captain will easily plug the one or two scoring shots that Shehzad has and then all he would be left to do is tuk the ball.
He is a nothing player and even if he is brought back tomorrow he would fail like he has always done. Plus add to that his MASSIVE ego and HUGE disciplinary problems. If I were Inzi I wouldn't touch Shehzad with a ten foot pole.
Let him score runs in domestics and PSL. That's the extent of his level.
Performing like a chmap in domestics , should be back in the next odi series.
Strike rate is poor as usual.
strike rate of 100.4 is poor? Our standards are really high i guess.
924 runs @ 92.4 average with a strike rate of 100.4 , 4 hundreds and 4 50s. Two big hundreds of 166 and 163. This is some serious performance and can not be ignored.
Shehzad is an okay batsman (Not as bad as people claim he is), But his issue is strike rotation. He keeps on blocking and blocking which puts on pressure. International teams exploit such things, Shehzad opening the innings at 27 off 50 balls is last thing you would want.
Good things about him are that he has hunger for runs, Fantastic conversion rate and his record shows he likes to go big and go for that hundred once set though half of his innings could be referred as selfish.
BUT, He has a habit of poking at balls, Playing with hard hands and inability to bisect field or find gaps which leads up to high %age of dot balls. I haven't seen him bat recently but hope he has covered these issues, If he has then he surely would be a great addition.

Karachi Whites 375/6 (50 ov)
Islamabad 83/2 (13.0 ov)
Islamabad require another 293 runs with 8 wickets and 37.0 overs remaining
Ahmed Shehzad c Anwar Ali b Tabish Khan 15 (12)
Ahmed Shehzad was abysmal in both 2011 & 2015 world cup, he only scored against minnows. Even before 2015 world cup he scored a lot in PSL due to which he was unfortunately recalled. He can't handle the pressure & quality of international cricket, hence, should never be selected for third time.
