Ajay Devgn is all set to produce a film honouring the sacrifice of 20 Indian Army personnel who died in a face-off with Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan valley.

The yet to be titled project will be bankrolled by Ajay Devgn FFilms and Select Media Holdings LLP. It is not yet confirmed if Devgn will act in the movie since the cast hasn’t been finalised yet.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the film on social media. “IT’S OFFICIAL… #AjayDevgn to make film on #GalwanValley clash… The film – not titled yet – will narrate the story of sacrifice of 20 #Indian army men, who fought the #Chinese army… Cast not finalized… Ajay Devgn FFilms and Select Media Holdings LLP will produce the film,” he wrote on Twitter.

On June 15, 20 Indian Army personnel, including the commanding officer of 16 Bihar, were killed in a face-off with Chinese troops in the Galwan valley of Ladakh. In the fight, some soldiers either fell or were pushed into the river, officers said. Some bodies were recovered from the river while others had signs of being brutalised. A few soldiers died of hypothermia.

Apart from this project, Ajay Devgn is gearing up for the release of his film Bhuj: The Pride of India. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Ammy Virk, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. Written and directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film will have its digital premeire on Disney Plus Hotstar.

To be honest, this was expected and many at PP predicted it.

Bollywood making money off dead soldiers.

Why are Indians so obsessed with war movies? For a country which has barely fought a war against another nation in it's history, there seems to be a disproportionate amount of time and money invested on movies about the bravery of their jawans....which seems to exist mainly on celluloid.

I wish Indians would return to their roots and make films about long lost twin brothers or unlikely romance between high class and low class lovebirds - possibly with surprise twin siblings thrown in there with a matching romance.

You just summed up 90% of Bollywood movies, ever made :yk

Expected. It will be interesting to see how many chinese soldiers Ajay Devgan kills alone in the movie. He is a pretty good actor though. :inti

I remember Ramgopal Verma and Ritesh Deshmukh visiting Taj Hotel in Mumbai immediately after 2008 terrorist attacks. This is nothing in comparison to that. :inti

expected really Its a quick way to stay relevant, earn big money by showing fake patriotism

I am assuming the end of the movie will be very intense with Devgan deleting 59 apps to complete the revenge.

How is "Devgn" pronounced? Is it meant to be pronounced Divine, or Devon?

Captain's knowledge of Indian things always astonishes me. Sometimes I feel he has a long-term goal of moving to India :rabada2

What will be the plot of the movie?

Band of Indians go up a mountain to meet Chinese and then get pushed off into a stream and die?

From what I've seen of Ajay Devgn's work, hammy acting and all, I shall give this one a miss. I will only watch if Jackie Chan, who is a massive CCP fan btw, is cast as the opposing PLA colonel :)

Actually you made me realise that I legit don’t know any work of Ajay Devgn. Now I’m hardly a Bollywood buff but must have watched on average 1-2 movies hit Bollywood movies every year for over the past 15 years. And I legit don’t remember seeing any of his work.

Heck the only reason I know of him is because he is Kajol’s husband (which I had to check just be make sure prior to this post to not look stupid lol).

You don't know what acting is if you think ajay devgn is bad.
He is way better than the overrated khans and kapoors. Still no way near naseeruddin, mohanlal etc but good enough.

I don't think this is a thread to promote bollywood :yk but give drishyam a try. It is amongst the best films i have watched and ajay is a way better actor than kajol.

What a farce ! While the conflict's still going on.....

If they really had to make money stirring up nationalism, they should have gone for the biopic of Sam Manekshaw who humiliated Pakistan or the lesser known 1967 clashes where we drove the Chinese out of Sikkim but they chose this when the Chinese are still sitting tight in Galwan.

Drishyam
Omkara
Company

London Dreams and Yuva were decent. Some people also really enjoyed Rajneeti.

Most of his movies are typical bollywood masala flicks though.

Gangajal was also good.
Slog should try Devgan's entry scene in his debut movie 'Phool aur Kante'. :inti

Akshay Kumar is livid at Ajay Devgn for stealing his pet project!

On topic, pathetic move from Ajay, however totally expected.

Lol this was funny. I can picture an over-the-top dramatic scene with patriotic music playing in the background as he deletes the apps one by one.

Know you made his quote x10 funnier with the whole background discription 😂🤣

How about to show some solidarity with India, a US celebrity wrestler Matt Hardy joins Ajay Devgan in the end and asks him to delete all those apps one by one? :inti

The chinese are on the other side of PP 14.

The bone of contention is not even Galwan anymore.

And killing more Chinese and removing them from point PP 14.

Envious pakistanis aside, this story of courage and sacrifice must be told to the future generations. Should be made like 300 to give it the cinematic justice it deserves.

Agreed. Maybe use the same tactic to digitally enhance Devgan's abs, might even entice Priyanka back to India.
