Morata and Eddie up front for Arsenal next season.

Wow Trust the process.

A chelsea flop and a mid table standard young striker.

well done Arteta and Edu

There's no truth in these Morata links. The Spanish outlet Sport reported it citing English media, and the English media are in turn citing Sport.

Just another fairytale rumour at this point.

With Arteta and Edu in charge nothing will shock me.

Arsenal cant afford another mixed bag of transfers like last summer. They need signings early.

Aston villa have signed 3 players already..

Watch Arsenal as per usual chasing players in August after losing first few games of season again.

Season starts earlier this year and more fixtures crammed into the 1st month of season as well.

We all know that we can't afford bad business. Let's just wait until that actually happens before we get outraged about it.

2 forwards and a CM plus a full-back squad player should be the type of window we should target.

The return of Saliba bolsters our defensive unit, so if those 4 above additions are done right our squad will be well set for the season.

£26M for Morata isn’t exactly the worst business you can do, as long as you have the £80M striker to do the real work

Aston
Villa are on the road to ruin. Once the rich owners flee after their gamble fails, they'll be like Burnley

Don’t get why we don’t go for Darwin Nunez. He’s the £80m worth striker that we need in the no.9 role.

Hes a spanish lacazette, weve just let go of one passenger in the team; we dont need to sign a like for like trash replacement.

Unproven, top prospect. Slightly slow for my liking but a good physical specimen with game awareness, control and power.

Also, I heard RM are in for him.

There needs to be an inquest as to why Auba was allowed to leave for free.

Arsenal were unable to acquire his replacement. As fans we have a right to know what Auba actually did.

It's easy to blame Arteta but truth be told he wasn't performing prior to his axe.

Its very easy for fans lay the blame on Auba and say its all his fault. He got his contract and stopped playing.

1) Why make Auba captain - when hes a maverick player, hes never shown captaincy credentials anywhere else. As is the habit at Arsenal make the best player captain so they stay.

2) Auba thrives from pace in behind, thats why he scored goals every where he played. what does Arteta do, decides to play slow side ways passing football which means Arsenal get no space to exploit behind teams.

Arsenal have failed to score in 25% of the 130 games Arteta has been in charge. that tells you how creatively poor Arsenal are under Arteta. Auba went from getting 4/5 chances a game to 1 or 2 if that.

Yes he missed sitters, so do other strikers. Now Aubas at barca playing free flowing quick paced football and scoring goals again.

If Arteta wanted to play a certain way with a certain required striker then he shouldnt have asked Auba to sign a new deal.

Arteta hasnt got any real consitent results out of Arsenal forwards. yet we here all these stories how he so call improved city forwards when he was there.

I can see Arsenal selling Gabriel or Tierney this summer if right offer comes in, if club is offered 50M for either i can see them being sold.

Arsenal need a lot of new player 6 or 7 this summer. No CL means owners have to put more of their own money into transfers which simply wont happen. so there will be a sacrificial lamb somewhere, Arsenal are wasting valuable money on renewing mediocre players contracts in squad. The usual excuses will come that they cudnt get all players they wanted in one window and they need another summer to reach targets etc..

The club simply wont take the required risks to be really ambitious, this so called long term project is just an excuse to reduce accountability on mediocre performances each season.

Wasting valuable money? They are saving money by having to signing less players for transfer fees from outside. Selling Elneny and Nketiah means you have to waste valuable money to pick up replacement backups.

The problem with the new contracts is that it's the cheap move, not that it's wasting money.

Thoughts on Victor Osmhein?

The club is already making excuses that they cant afford Gnabrys wage demands from bayern. A world class player in his final year of contract where transfer fee wouldnt be to high (35-40M). But hey giving mediocre players high wages and contract renewals is more important.

Would you rather have gnabry or eddie?

Both. That's the point :)

If Lacazette and Eddie both leave, that means we need to buy 2 new strikers. Like you keep saying, the fixtures are more packed next year.

Any striker worth his salt for a top PL team is going to demand far north of 100k, plus a hefty transfer fee obviously. With Eddie staying as the 2nd striker, we now only need to find one of those players, and we can actually divert more of the transfer budget to get a better, more expensive player. Eddie's value is also protected so we can sell him on in the future, and of course there's no setting in period because he knows what the team and coach want.

Gnabry would come in as a winger, the Pepe (who's one of the highest earners at the club at 140k) replacement when we offload him. With Aubameyang's 350k and Lacazette's 180k off the books too, there's plenty of wages to go around.

Who is making what excuses? Who's prioritising an Eddie contract over Gnabry signing? Where are you getting this insider information? We know nothing. The window isn't even open yet. You have a habit of being outraged about imaginary scenarios you made up in your head.

Without Eddie - main signings: ST, ST, Winger, CM.

I'm not blaming anyone until we know what happened between them.

What we do know is Auba had a falling out with Dortmund and that Arteta has been accused of having a hard handed approach with his players.

Arsenal's goal scoring rate was down to the lack of creativity when Arteta was instructed to sideline Ozil after he had publicised his views on China.

This is why we had the worst run of games up until the Xmas period during the 20/21 season. Arteta was able to unearth ESR as Ozil's replacement who made a name for himself after beating Chelsea just after Xmas 2020.

From 1 Jan 21 until the end of that season, only City had more points than Arsenal in the league.

Arsenal managed to pick up 69 points this season, the same number as Klopp's Liverpool and two more points than Tuchel's Chelsea last season. They both made it in the UCL whereas Arsenal just missed out with the most inexperienced team in the league.

The evidence shows that Arsenal have made good progress under Arteta from the last campaign.

Yes Auba has a habit of falling out with people, yet another reason why he should have never been made captain. This is been an ongoing issue at Arsenal where they just pass the captaincy around for fun.

Even without ozil in the side Arsenals pattern of play in 20/21 was boring and slow. It was all dependant on David luiz playing balls through the channels for Auba, or Arsenal attacking down the left side which teams clocked onto and shut down.

ESR was always highly rated and had plenty of support from Emery and ljungberg. ESR also did well in europa league im oct and nov (20/21) but didnt get a look in the PL side as Arteta kept picking willian every week. when it got to Dec Arteta picked all the young kids as a last resort after all thos pathetic defeats, it wasnt some masterstroke to go with these youngsters.

Also what ever points Arsenal got from jan 21 is meaningless, we finished 8th (why not mention the shambolic number of points from August to December that season), add to that the shameful defeat vs Villareal where Arteta decided to play ESR as a false 9. That wasnt progress.

56, 55 and 61 goals in PL Arsenal have scored in last 3 season - Arteta has been in charge for 2.5 years. Other managers dont have luxury of having that long to turn teams around and do a better job.

This season we were in europe (huge advantage) - yet we lost 13 games again (most top managers would get the sack of this). We bottled top 4 with 3 games to go, lost 6 out of last 11 games. We failed to score in numerous games after jan because the managers ego was more important then what wad best for the team. The teams wage bill was more important then CL. CL would bring extra 50/60M revenue but as is case with these owners they never take a risk. Liverpool / spurs and newcastle strengthened in jan and look what happened.

il happily place a bet with anyone on here that Arsenal will not make top 4 in 22/23 season while playing europa league under this mediocre manager.

TW isnt open yet?

Liverpool have sign carvalho
Aston villa havr signed 3 players
Man city have signed Haarland.

But the window isnt open. You can still sign players before the window opens.

Edu will wait till August 31st as per usual after Arsenal have lost few games at start of season again. Thats difference between wrll run clubs and Arsenal.

Arsenal are never ready for start of season because they spend to long pissing around over transfers.

Bruno gumareies already said that he joined newcastle because Arsenal spent to long refusing to pay 30M for him. A player who would have improved team

Could have got kulasevski on loan, and lets be honest its been clearly obvious since bout nov that Arteta has had no real interest in giving pepe much game time.

Yet people keep defending these **** poor decisions by the club.

if Arsenal are serious they need to sign gnabry and jesus.

Good riddance 185K a week for a failure, 1 good season in 5. club should have never signed him in 1st place.

Rumours are Real Madrid are now in the race (after having missed out on Mbappe) and he would prefer to move to them. I don't blame him if he opts for for Real over us.

To bide some time this year, Arsenal could do well if they offer Lewandowski a 2 year contract. No champion’s league means he probably won’t choose us.

City have offered Jesus to chelsea, Real and Athletico Madrid. All 3 can offere him good wages like Arsenal and Also CL football. Missing on CL will cost Arsenal a lot of transfers like this.

i can see a release clause (100M) in his next contract as he wont stay forever if club continues to be mediocre and not challenge for trophies.

liverpool look like they will sign Darwen nunez, look at how quickly they get things done compared to Edu's usual pathetic go slow.

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has re-signed for Lyon on a free transfer - five years after leaving to join the Gunners for a then club record £46.5m.

Lacazette returns to the French club on a three-year deal until June 2025.

The France forward scored 54 times in 158 Premier League appearances for Arsenal and helped the Gunners win the 2020 FA Cup final.

Speaking to Canal Plus in April, Lacazette said he had "never cut contact" with hometown club Lyon.

Lyon said they were "very proud and very happy" to announce Lacazette's return to the club he joined at the age of 12, adding a deal "has been the club's priority for several months".

Lacazette, 31, rose through the youth teams at Lyon and scored 129 goals in 275 matches in all competitions for them after breaking into the first team in the 2009-10 campaign.

He was signed by Arsene Wenger in 2017 with the deal - up to £52.6m with add-ons - surpassing the £42.4m Arsenal paid Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

With Lacazette's contract expiring at the end of June, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta admitted in April that Arsenal took a risk in delaying talks with the player about a new deal.

"It is the agreement that we made with him. That was our position and our position remains the same - that is what we are going to do," Arteta added at the time.

"The risk of that happening, it was always there since the moment we made that decision, then it is up to him."

Lacazette captained Arsenal after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has since joined Barcelona, was stripped of the armband by Arteta in December for a disciplinary breach.

Arsenal have not competed in the Champions League since 2016-17 and will play in the Europa League group stage in 2022-23 after finishing fifth in the Premier League.

Jota is a top striker.

Jiminez from wolves is another striker Arsenal should look at.

Arsenal have announced their retained list ahead of the 2022/23 season, with striker Eddie Nketiah currently in talks over a new contract.

Nketiah ended the season strongly with five goals in his last seven Premier League games as the Gunners fell short in their bid to secure Champions League qualification.

Eddie Nketiah has been offered a new contract© PA Eddie Nketiah has been offered a new contract
The 23-year-old has expressed a desire to play regular first-team football and Mikel Arteta wants to convince him his future lies at the Emirates Stadium.

Alexandre Lacazette rejoined Lyon this week on a free transfer and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang departed the club for Barcelona last January.

The club have confirmed they have offered the former England U21 international a new contract and that talks are ongoing.

Nketiah had gone a year without starting a Premier League fixture before Arsenal's trip to Southampton on April 16 but he usurped Lacazette as Arteta's leading striker during the run-in.

The striker, who was linked with Crystal Palace in January, is fast approaching the end of his contract and the club have so far been unsuccessful in their attempts to tie him to a new one.

"My future is going to be sorted out in the near future," he told Sky Sports News last month.

"I can put that to one side as we've only got four games left. I can give my all to the team and help us achieve our goals. Then I'll sit down and see what's best. Wherever I am next season, as long as I'm happy and playing football, that'll be great."

Lisa Evans, Tobin Heath and Viktoria Schnaderbeck have been released from the Arsenal Women's team but talks are ongoing with Lydia Williams over a new contract.

Experience has taught me not to read anything into it until it's a done deal.

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Brazilian forward Marquinhos from Sao Paulo.

The Gunners say the Brazil Under-17 international has joined the Premier League club on a long-term contract.

The Sao Paulo youth product made his first-team debut as an 18-year-old last July before helping them win the regional Campeonato Paulista in 2021.

"He is still very young, so he is a player for the future," said Arsenal's technical director Edu.

He scored four goals in 41 appearances for Sao Paulo and has also represented Brazil at Under-16 level.

"Marquinhos was a player we had been watching for a while," Edu added.

"We look forward to him now joining us for pre-season, making his new home, and continuing to grow and develop with us."

AFC Management are notorious for providing frustrating transfer news to their fans. They really have no clue about the mood of their fan base.

I would have preferred for us to have signed Bissouma over any DM. Big loss for us to see him go to Spurs.

I have a very bad feeling that this transfer window is going to be all gloom and doom for the club.

Last summer we had a very good transfer window. In January we needed to bolster the squad especially with a replacement for Aubameyang.

The rumour is that Arteta is frustrated with the Kroenkes taking a long time to sign off on transfers.

I have a feeling Jesus will go to Chelsea. There's no reason for him to pick Arsenal over them.

Gnabry ain't happening.

We'll probably end up getting someone of Morata calibre.

All transfers at the club require sign off, this isnt anything new. So these stories the Arteta is now frustrated are comical. Arteta went out to the U.S in january to have meetings with kronkes, also he signed a new contract so clearly he would have made his transfers clear and also would have been told his budget.

Kronkes have splashed out on 2 huge stars for the LA Rams for new season, yet at Arsenal they are paying 3.5 M for a 19 year old who was available for free.

I agree i can see jesus going to chelsea, nunez is going to liverpool. These are vlahovic type strikers they wanted. The longer they fuss over transfers the more players on their so called transfer list will be gone.

Then we will end up with mediocre 5th choice players or club either having to over spend for a player or refusing to pay the asking price.

Arsenal have 1 striker in Eddie (martinelli as wide striker) and balogun who needs another loan, club will know Arsenal are desperate for players and will hike price up. Arsenals fault for poor squad management.

Add to that the poor management of Torriera, AMN, Leno, Pepe, Bellerin and Mari, Arsenal will struggle to sell these players or get very little money for them.

Torriera - Arteta doesnt want, player loses transfer value, other clubs make low ball offers

AMN - Arteta rejected 15-20M from wolves after he wanted to leave after FA cup win, roll on 2 years and player had poor transfer value and no longer in teams plans.

Bellerin - also wanted to leave Arsenal after FA cup win, again Arteta refused and wanted him to stay another year, now hes no longer in Arsenals plans, betis asking if Arsenal will cancel his contract or give him away for free.

Leno - Arteta picked leno over martinez, A year later leno is no longer Artetas 1st choice. Again no real transfer value for leno now.

Mari - Arteta's "left sided CB" signed and a year later is out on loan and again very little transfer value.

Tavares - Another Arteta signing, A year later and talk that he may go on loan or be sold.

Willian - Arteta telling him that Arsenal plan would be to be in CL after 3 season, gone after a year - contract cancelled

Runnarson - signed as Martinez replacement, year later not good enough on loan. Also on wages which most clubs wont pay.

Pepe - under played in 2nd half season, again transfer value will be very low

"Trust the process"

"Give the new manager a new contract"

shambolic manmangement and thats not even bring the Auba, Guendouzi situations to light.

Arsenal squad management is a shambles.
