Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

HT 0-0

Saka needs to get into game more.

The midfield has been average as well, to many safety 1st passes.

Other that trossard, their has been zero threat

We've missed Rice in the centre of that midfield. Zubimendi and Merino do not have the mobility to help with the attempt recoveries running back on the counter. Villa have found it too easy to penetrate Arsenal in the middle of the pitch. Worrying signs.

Gyokeres had 2 good chances. Should've scored at least one of them.

The most annoying thing is number of times Villa have easily transitioned through midfield due to zero mobility we have with zubi and Merino.

Havertz and Jesus will be brought on soon im sure at somepoint.

It is still 0-0 so we can still win the game. We just have to get ball out wide quicker

Very frustrating 1st half

Who would have thought If you pass ball forward and quickly, then you create more chances

Job done - brilliant 2nd half performance.

Most of importantly regaining form after some very indifferent performances.

Bournemouth up next. Who took 6 points of us last season, so we need to beat them and improve away performances.

Arsenal at home have been good 90% of this season.

What a brilliant second half that was from Arsenal. That's what you call a statement win and to pull it off without Rice was some achievement because we clearly struggled without him in the first half.

Odegaard was superb and richly deserves his MOTM. He stood up like a proper leader with the way he won he that ball back and then played a lovely ball into Zubimendi, who produced a lovely finish for Arsenal second's goal.

This is the Odegaard we want to see. Ever since he scored that pen in the shoot out against Palace, he's been great and I hope he continues this form until the end of the season.

@aboveandbeyond I'm guessing you're laughing because I said we missed Rice?

Not at all. Im surprised you were so critical in the first half. Elite level teams fine details make the difference. Most times it can take time to make the difference.

What i would say is Gabriel Saliba combo give the rest of the side confidence. Imperative Arsenal have them fully fit for second half of the season.

Villa totally dominated us in the first half. They should have gone into HT with at least one goal lead. Could've easily been a different game because Villa would've parked the bus had taken the lead and we all know how Arsenal struggle against low blocks.

Arsenal turned up the tempo in the second half and Villa started making mistakes.

We got to remember, they are a very good side. After recent wins over you boys and Man City. So full credit for the second half performance. Heard it was the best Arsenal performance of the season so far.

Arsenal tempo in 2nd half was the difference, the 1st half was to safety first. To many side ways and backwards passes. 2nd half Arsenal got balls into the channels quicker and there was more 1 touch passes and not slowing play down. Obana going off for villa effected them, bit more so it was Odegaard and Zubimendi actually being positive that changed the game. If the captain could actually shoot properly and not like a 2 year old toddler when it comes to power the game would have been 6 or 7 in 2nd half.

Arsenal now need to replicate the same number of points atleast from 1st 19 games in 2nd half. 90 points should be enough to win a PL title for which ever side gets that points tally.. Espcially when a lot of teams are taking more points of each other, if your getting that volume of points you should get over line.

As long as home form remains good, their just needs to be an improvement in the away performances for remainder of season.

A very good 2nd half from the Arsenal. Trossard and Odegaard made the difference. Both of them were playmaking and inverting with ease. Refreshing to see Arsenal score goals from the middle.

Aston Villa tactically outclassed Arsenal in the first half and should have been 2-0 up. Onana being injured really cost them.

I know Rice/Calafiori were injured but we have players slowly coming back. Jesus, Havertz, Gabriel and Ben White. Arteta really needs to manage his squad. We can’t afford to lose key players from the 2nd half of the season.

Every team selection has to be done on merit, based on what players are in form. Can't have a situation where certain players gets picked and are not providing anything to the team. We've seen this to often before in other seasons.

9 games in January. Arsenal should be able to rotate players in the FA cup game vs Portsmouth, and the 2 CL games. We have already made top 8.

The 5 PL games and league cup semi final the strongest 11 needs to be put out

It’s amazing how everybody agrees that this team hasn’t played to its potential yet but still managed top of UCL, 45 points at halfway mark in PL, and league cup sf.

Even till the midway point in the last match, Arsenal hadn’t played the fluid play that is required to dominate teams in EPL. Odegaard clicking is critical for this team, not just because he is the captain but also because he occupies that chief creator position. Zubi finally letting it go and making that run into the box was what did it for me. I hope the floodgates are now open. This team has enormous potential.

Trossard is another standout performer this year. I have always admired Trossard’s ability to take shots with his first touch and he used it so well again. Jesus too is someone who’s going to add further fluidity to the attack. (Unpopular opinion here but I am so excited to see Kai Havertz back).

It all builds though from that key duo of Gabriel and Saliba. Now that the main partnership is back the team will play with more confidence up front too.

Home form in all competitions has been excellent so far this season. Other than Man city at home and wolves, every other performance has been at high level.

The issue has been away from home where the team seems to struggle with the intensity of opposition teams being physical and direct against us. That is something that will have to improve in 2026, tactically we seem to be setting up to not lose games away from home. Or as soon as we score we just Try and shut up shop. 11 goals in 9 away games is pretty bad and that will be something that needs to improve massively, has to be more creativity shown and also more of a clinical edge. Unless their is a tactic change away from home. You will be keep seeing indifferent away performances for rest of season. Also how the squad is rotate in 2nd half of season, including in January with 9 games will start to show if this team is finally ready to change from falling short to getting over line.

Great points. You’ve been highlighting for some time now that the away performances have been levels below home performances with clear signs that the team sets up conservatively not to lose.

Looking at EPL in January though, the home matches look tougher than the away trips.
We’ll be hosting Utd and Liv, both of whom are capable of taking points off us even at the emirates. Away trips to Bournemouth, Forest and Leeds look easier in comparison.
Add to it the 2 CL matches and 2 league cup games, this Jan will really test the credentials of this team and coaching staff.

Arsenal have to be smart with squad rotation

We should be able to beat Portsmouth in cup with out 2nd choice players. No need for any players like rice, Zubimendi etc. To be used.

Same in CL - we have won 6 out of 6. So again we can rest players for inter and kairat games.

Then you play main players in league games and LC semi.

Only way this becomes a mess is if Arteta stupidly over players certain players in games they don't Need to play in.

In PL, this season all teams are finding away games harder, this is why very few points seperate so many teams in table currently. But going into a the back end of season, you simply can't set up to not lose games, you have to be brave and win games. Every season in past poor squad management has lead to failure

Indeed we do have tougher home games to come. But we need to be beating Liverpool, United at home. No room for slip ups with City clicking through gears

Trip to Bournemouth tomorrow. Chance to increase the lead to 7 points albeit temporarily. Match against Villa feels like yesterday. Fixtures really are coming thick and fast now.

Gyo may start feeling some pressure because Arteta does really like both Jesus and Havertz.

I think Gyo can contribute more for sure, he opens new ways for this team to score goals but right now doesn’t look like a week in week out type number 9 for Arsenal. He’s too erratic.. for now. That’s good too because we play with so much structure sometimes that agents of chaos are needed but Gyokeres makes too few touches to impact games meaningfully.

Gabriel gives away a stupid goal early on, then makes amends

1-1

Not the best of starts so far, again In an away game

Very sloppy in midfield with number of times ball is been given away in stupid positions

Sloppy yes but Bournemouth’s defence’s been opened a few times, Arsenal are creating a number of chances. Goals coming up..

HT 1-1

Martinelli and Madueke have been utter 🐶💩

Get trossard, eze or saka on

Fairly open game, but have to be better in final 3rd

Not too bothered at half time. Arsenal need to apply themselves better, they are looking leagues better than Bournemouth in my humble opinion.

I agree with you on Martinelli but so harsh on Madueke, who was brilliant in the lead up to the equaliser.

Other than the goal, he's been indecisive. Also Bournemouth have caused issues down that Flank when he's not tracked his man defensively.

Excellent game. Arsenal’s best players have stepped up in the second half. Rice taken his Goals brilliantly. Odegaard been composed in midfield. Clearly somewhere near his best. Three Excellent Points for the Gooners.

COYG

another game crossed off...
Now over to managerless Chelsea to see if they can get something at city...

Brilliant second half from Rice and Odegaard to see us through that second half. Another tough away fixture chalked off.

I wouldn't mind signing Semenyo in this transfer window. Quality player to have on the wing.

I think we need an extra central midfield signing, rather then another winger

Anyone see Adli run into the arm of Gabriel? Really lame attempt to con the ref into giving his side a pen.

I thought the ref was rubbish and had a performance to forget. Throw in, corner decisions went the other way when they should’ve been awarded to Arsenal. Fouls were missed and Semenyo could’ve been sent off. I know Merino got lucky last weekend but at least the opposition got the free kick.

Yes, we’re in big trouble if Rice gets injured.
Yeah true, plus I think we need an extra player there even if he stays fit. Just helps with rotation and being able to compete in all competitions

Is it just me, or has Saka been playing a bit more selfishly in recent games? I’m starting to wonder if he’s feeling the pressure from Madueke, especially since his goal contributions have dipped lately.

Grinding out that win away from home, faced adversity and dealt with it well- where is the guy gone who said Rice was poor.... what a player!

Mamoon :ROFLMAO:

I doubt he's an Arsenal fan and I think we all agree that football discussions are better without him.

Who can forget his prediction on Gyokeres winning Golden Boots and scoring 25 or 30+ goals with ease? 🤡:ROFLMAO:

I think his decision making in a lot of games recently has been poor, but he's allowed a bad patch as he's usually good in form. He did create both goals vs wolves, also 3rd goal today

I think he does need to score a few goals to get his full confidence and mojo back

Superb result for Bees away at Everton!

The team tipped to be relegated after 3 massive changes, is now edging closer to Europe!

Come on you BEES! 🐝🐝🐝

Thank you Chelsea.

Following City's draws against Sunderland and Chelsea, Arsenal have now extended their lead from 2 points to 6 points. It's been a good week and a great start to the year. Happy New Year Everyone.

Looking at the current top half of the table, Arsenal’s only remaining away trips are to City, Brentford, and Brighton.

There is no excuse for Arteta to fall short. Aside from the visit to City, there aren’t any super tough away fixtures left.

Arsenal have been pretty much perfect at home. Only dropping to points in that draw to City.

Spoken with a lot of sense bhai.

Arsenal should win it from here on out, really is setup now

Huge match vs Liverpool. Of course Arsenal are expected to win but I’d expect Liv to put in their best performance of the season and make it as difficult as possible for Arsenal. Etikite maybe missing as well which is a blow for them but honestly this is still Liverpool and as Szobalszai recently reminded everyone in his interview, they are the reigning champions.

At home we do beat them regularly over last few seasons and that’s my expectation this time around as well.

Unmissable opportunity to take this PL’s fate in its own hands for the team. Looking forward to Havertz’s return on the pitch.

Huge game tonight and must win, with City and Villa dropping points to Brighton and Palace, its chance for Arsenal to extend lead even more.

Liverpool will NOT be easy, but at same time Arsenal have to set up tactically positively and look to win the game.

Arsenal have to be ruthless in performance tonight and get 3 points

Should be a formality for Arsenal against a team that was in a relegation battle not long ago and likely to be back in the relegation dogfight after being smashed by Arsenal.

Arsebal really are champions elect after tonight.

According to Arsenal fans this is a difficult fixture. Excuses at the ready 🤣

LOL.

Easy win for them and we will be back in the relegation battle as proclaimed by a certain someone.

I think he can even put out his van twerk images and memes that he has....

With @Mamoon absence , whose posts on Arsenal were elite it’s nice to read a level headed fans view , apart from the fact you beat us regularly at home .

Arsenal have had six years on one plan to build a team to win the premier league. It should have been 3 for one of the biggest and most successful clubs but the manager was learning on the job . Arteta has improved but his Stoke city football isn’t a pleasure to watch . Some say him winning the league this season is a bad thing for football but glory and trophies 🏆 is all that matters . Coming 2nd is no different to coming 4th .

City dominated the last few draws , Liverpool have a manger who has lost the plot , this is the best opportunity for Arsenal to win the big one .

Liverpool tonight as champions, (dont forget there is no trophy at the airplane stadium, it’s at Anfield ), must show serious energy , no excuses . But tactically look odd with Frimpong playing in Salahs role .

Arsenal favourites, if they fail to take 3 points tonight it’s not the end of the world but taking fewer points off the champions is rarely a sign of new champions.

If you lose tonight , I’m taking up Art classes 🧑‍🎨

Very sloppy play, shocking back pass and defending. Liverpool should be ahead.

Arsenal need to defend better
