The T20 blast is their premier league, the Hundred isn’t really a success, they give away free tickets to kids just to fill up the grounds.

One thing I like about the IPL is that they have managed to cultivate team identities and rivalries over a short period of time. It is primarily down to the fanatical and easily led nature of Indian fans but also down to some clever management where they have tied iconic players to franchises for many years and that player becomes associated with the team.

PSL failed miserably at this.

A non Indian could start watching IPL and get immersed into some of the rivalries, histories and back stories as a non football fan could if they started watching the EPL.

It's not a franchise league like the BBL, IPL, PSL, SA20 etc.

It's the equivalent of SMAT, PAK domestic T20 Cup, CSA domestic T20 challenge etc.

Never, but equally I only really watched like one or two of the initial PSL seasons and never again. As the international team has been a flop for a long time doesn’t matter what they do in PSL - then why waste time watching it?

I recall watching a number of games from first season with Akthar and Tanvir making inroads with their bowling. Have never seen a highlight since as its Indian domestic tournament so it will naturally attract Indian audience. None in my Pakistani circle even the ones obsessed with cricket watch IPL or talk about it as again not our domestic tournament. I quite enjoy catching PSL games and following it, random big bash highlights are also fun to watch
