Abrar ER against NZ 8.44, against SA 8.25. SO far he has bulied UAE, Afghanistan. Even against Bangladesh he took only 3 wickets in 4 matches. How do you project your spinners with very little experience as world beaters with the smallest samples that too based on 1 game against Afghanistan, 1 game against UAE.

You can't stop admiring how the Indian selectors and team management i.e. captain, coaches have visualized the squad and packed it with the perfect combination for UAE conditions. All bases are covered. The players who have not been selected can easily form an India B squad and give the best competition to the main Indian team.

In comparison the Pakistani selectors and team management just don't want to put in the same kind of hard work to uncover the best possible players in the Pakistani Cricket system for each spot and the bench, we just stick to the lazy way of recycling the same tried and tested failures.

India Pakistan matches in tournament used to be hype even when there was a boycott of bilateral series. People genuinely got excited for the matches on both sides regardless.

Now it feels even in tournaments every single time there’s a call to cancel, not play the matches. Whether India should play or not becomes a bigger thing than the rivalry. Things have got so bad between India and Pakistan. I think it’s even sapped the fans energy for the matches. And it’s not just the gap in quality in the sides, that has been that way before too and still people were excited. I also think it’s spoilt the allure of asia cup in general. Asia cup in theory should be a huge deal and entertaining but it doesn’t feel like that anymore.

Just feels really sad. Not even blaming any country, it’s a fight between the governments and I don’t know enough to say who’s in the right. But it’s really spoilt this cricketing rivalry. Probably Indians feel in the same boat, but it’s got to the point where I’d just rather see a match against a different country so it can just be all about cricket.
