The upsets have already begun! USA stunned Pakistan, while Canada took down Ireland. It's time to give credit where credit is due - to the talented players from associate teams who are making their mark on the global stage!

Let's highlight some of the standout performers who deserve a chance to shine in the Pakistan Super League (PSL):

- Monank Patel, Aaron Jones, Ali Khan, and Saurabh Netravalkar from USA
- Dipendra Singh Airee from Nepal
- Gerhard Erasmus from Namibia
- Bas de Leede from Netherlands
- Nicholas Kirton from Canada

I've not watched the tournament through the lens of the PSL.

It would be quite cool if the USA Indians got a contract in PSL. Would certainly generate some viewers for the league

@FearlessRoar

Im being serious bro, Look how many comments we have from everyone claiming usa will beat Pakistan before the world cup even started? People made these claims as soon as the NZ c series and Ireland series happened

As for Canada vs Ireland, Canada has Canadian league. As the commentators said, Ireland since gaining test status lost the county edge they use to have, their not developing eoin Morgan level players anymore. The commentators don't consider it an upset and were rooting for Canada.

The upset is Bangladesh vs Sri lanka as not a single soul expected Bangladesh to beat Sri Lanka given their current state. Another upset will be Nedtherlands beating Sa for the 3rd time if they manage to win again.

I really like the looks of Aaron jones. This guy is the leading six-hitter atm in this world cup. Plays spin well. A good package overall.

Won his team 2 games back to back. Gous is another guy who can been impressive.

Correct, Canada has the Global T20 league and they have a majority of South Asian players. In terms of talent, they are not lagging behind.

In the case of Bangladesh v Sri Lanka, I don't see Bangladesh beating Sri Lanka as an upset because Bangladesh has a much better team than Sri Lanka in recent times.

USA have some good batters.

Corey Anderson
Aaron Jones
Andries Gous
Monak patel

These guys can easily play in PSL and many other leagues.

Aaron Jones will have a field day smashing sub par spinners to mid wicket. Specially in Pindi where the boundaries are small.

Johnson looks promising. He will be cheap but looks like the real deal

Aaron Johnson 52 (44)
Rest of the Canadian batters: 41 (76)
Extras: 13

He also has a control % of 67 which is really impessive on the NY wicket.
Rishabh Pant had a control % of 50% against Pakistan

He has a superb T20I record as a batter. His average is over 47 and his strike rate is over 160. It won't be a surprise if we see him play in the PSL 2025.

Scotland is one associate team that no team wants to underestimate. With a formidable lineup boasting powerful bowlers and aggressive batters, they have the potential to upset established teams. Scotland has a history of defeating top sides in the T20 format, having beaten England and the West Indies in the past.

Some Scottish players have caught the attention of fans and critics alike, and we might see them in the next PSL.

Brandon McMullen: 24-year-old batting sensation, has impressed everyone with his top-order batting prowess. With 303 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 148.52, he has an impressive record for Scotland.

Brad Wheal: He has been a valuable asset to the Scottish team with his bowling variations. In just 20 games, he has taken 21 wickets with an economy rate of 8, which is impressive in T20 cricket.

Michael Jones: He has also shown promise, scoring over 200 runs in just nine games with a strike rate of 139.87. Known for providing a solid start and utilizing the batting powerplay, he has consistently performed well in top-order batting.
