Boland is a very good bowler - he’s 35 but bowling like a 25 year old.

He should have played a long time ago in Australian whites.

Bumrah gone.

Is this score enough?

If Bumrah bowls then it's going to be tight. If not, this won't be.

A better team in this series will win this.

Aus should chase it down quickly. No poke and tentaive play. India can't defend such a low target, just attack from the get go. 50 quick runs, and game will be over.

161 will not be an easy chase at all.

There is more than enough in the pitch for India to defend it, if they bowl well.

However Australia slight favourites because the target is gettable if one or two Australian player gets in.

I will be surpirsed if Aus does not chase this total. 200 may have created problems, but 150 odd runs should be chased. One batsman needs to score some runs.

If Konstas comes off, this might get wrapped up quickly.

That's the issue with such low scores even on tough wickets. A quick cameo makes a massive dent.

Our batting has never been as poor as it is for last few years.

Boland has been good but not as good as figures suggest. This is harakiri by these prima donnas. A Ranji state XI will do better than these entitled brats.

On the contrary, if he falls cheaply and with Khawaja looking totally out of sorts, the pressure would be right back on Australia.

Definitely.

If they collapse then Head's wicket is the biggest one. Their morale will shatter if he's gone regardless of who is left out there.

Lol at people writing off India. Australian batting is fragile and will fold like a pack of cards on this wicket. Bunrah or no Bumrah they will do well to get past 100.

Shocking lack of fight and application by Siraj, Bhumrah with the bat. Atleast learn how to bat properly

It’s all down to how India bowl.

They have a very bowler friendly pitch to defend such a score.

If they can’t defend it or close to defending it wil be because they did not bowl well.

Pakistan nearly defended 147 in the first test against SA - similar pitch really. Maybe if anything this pitch has more in it for the bowlers.

Australia slight favourites but only slight.

win-win post of the week :genius

If Bumrah is not bowling that is a massive blow to India.

Australia now favourites but still India have a chance, again if they bowl well.

This will be a close run thingy.

Show enough aggression to keep runs flowing but don't be reckless. Khawaja will probably prod another in his last home innings as will others defending on a surface offering uneven bounce

India has essentially played this series with two-and-a-half batsmen and three frontline bowlers. It’s no surprise they’ve struggled to dominate a five-match series with such an unbalanced setup. To compensate for their subpar batting lineup, they’ve consistently reduced their bowling attack to just three pacemen, relying on bits-and-pieces all-rounders to fill the gaps. Frankly, the team composition has been atrocious. What’s even more surprising is that Australia hasn’t completely bulldozed them so far, and somehow, India still has a shot at leveling the series 2-2 heading into the final game.

Tides can turn very quickly. Remember Jaiswal gave India a similar start but a couple quick wicket opened up the game for Australia. India should keep on fighting.

Pradish has decent pace and seam but he doesn’t have great control.

Just look at Boland and Cummins in contrast this morning - they gave nothing away, nothing.

Just keep it simple - full length and let the pitch help you.

Horrible horrible start by India

Has to be said that India failed to reach the pitch. Gambhir and team management keep making wrong selection calls.

They just wanted to keep relying on the all rounders thinking they could save them again. You just need one all rounder.
No reason to play both Jadeja and Washington here. They could have easily played a fast bowler leaving out one of them.

Extra batting insurance at number 8 doesn't often pay off. They could have easily rolled over Australia for around 125 having them 4 down for not many. Even if Bumrah was fit, they still would have been better off having a fourth seamer. Yes Reddy bowled well but having a proper fourth pacer on this seam-paradise could have made the real difference.

Indian bowling without Bumrah just seem to collapse mentally.

They still have the pace and movement to trouble the Aussies but can’t seem to hold it together consistently without him.
