What's new

Australia defeat India by 25 runs in 4th ODI

A really bad finish by Aussies, may even cost them the game, but who cares, these on the field poor and off the field rich indians deserve this face saving victory as a favor by cricket australia for filling up their coffers. Win win for both parties.

Lol somebody needs burnol :misbah

Our trundlers bowling very well in slog overs. But still Maxi too good for them.

Uganda has a better bowling attack than India

This is the kind of player we are lacking. 14 of 12 balls and now moved on to 36 of 17 balls...

Thank you Mitch sucking the life out of this Aussie innings. They sent him up to get his confidence high but i think it's going to go down even more for screwing his teams progress single handedly.

In the other hand what an innings by Maxiii

Hahahahah nothing is better than seeing India being smacked

Mitch Marsh doing WA proud

Convict are they all as useless as the Marsh bros. in WA?

India has a good chance to chase considering of having loads of batsman..

Aussies have shown how to bat when you have wickets in hand. Let's see if India can keep their calm and chase sensibly.

Aus would have gotten pretty close to 380 had it not been for Marsh.

Manish pandey seems to be an excellent fielder at a same level as Kohli, Raina and Jadeja.I think he can be good in odis if he bats up the order or may be in place of dhawan as an opener.

Might still be 20-30 short thanks to that awful innings from marsh, watching him bat with smith was a real sight just playing two different sports really.

Marsh is talented but he's really out of form and his head's in the wrong position when he bats.

What he needs is to play out the shield season for WA.

India needs to start strong here. Sharma should take the lead role. No 4-5 RPO or they'll lose. I'd even go at 6-7.

Seen on cricinfo: "India's last 5 ODI bowling performances: 438/4, 310/5, 309/3, 296/7, 348/8 = Total: 1701/27"

I can't understand the fascination of ACB with Marsh brothers, both are bits and pieces cricketers and simply awful in both departments, why persist with them?

BTW Maxi innings was unreal and exactly what Australia needed at that time to provide the much needed impetus to the total after Marsh's detrimental innings sucked the momentum out of it (just like Misbah always did for Pakistan) and under the circumstances I'd consider it a more valuable effort than Finch's 100.

Having said that, I still believe India can chase this down if openers lay out a solid foundation preferably a 120+ partnership (Dhawan has to take charge here) which is gonna provide a launching pad for Kohli and the rest of middle order to chase this down, its by no means impossible. India has done it before and there is no reason to think they won't be able to do it again.

Finally a good post..+1..

348 doesn't look insurmountable.

I don't think a good start is critical to the chase. However, two good partnerships are a must.

India has it in them to chase this down.

Good start by India, they're in with a decent chance here. The Australian attack is very weak.

Dhawan needs to play sensibly here. We need a long inning from Rohit though.

Boundaries alone won't work. They need to rotate the strike and put Hastings and Richardson off their lines.

India will make a good start and will be something like 200/2 than a wicket will fall and they Weak lower middle order will cost them the game

Canberra is the flattest track in Australia.

If India can't do it here, they NEVER can.

Lol. Firstly we aren't winning this. And even if we do by some fluke, it was only against aC attack on a flat deck :)

I thought that was Hobart ?

Btw, no one mentioned it when Australia were batting.

The last two ODI's here were in World Cup.

West Indies scored 372 vs Zimbabwe

South Africa scored 411 against Ireland.

Indian bowling maybe gave 20-30 runs more, but it's a pretty flat track.

You are supposed to win it to feel good and to help the team boost morale.

You aren't supposed to win it for the whiners and neighbors across the border, and what their educated minds think :)

So India end their first ten overs on 80-1.

I guarantee had Pakistan been chasing 350, we would be 38/1 in 10 overs.

Now needs to play sensibly.200-2 after 30 overs is what we should look for currently.
