Australia tour of the UK 2024 (white-ball series against Scotland and England)

Harry Brook has finished off Zampa's career. This is brutal. Run rate at 8.21. Last time this happened at Bristol was when PAK failed to defend 358 and gave it up in 44 overs.
Just because he can be a smart bowler sometimes makes people forget what a bang on average bowler he is. He could never be successful in test cricket.

@Nikhil_cric what's the matter? Vanishes Into the abyss now? Ben duckett gets out and it's a wrap under 270.

Told you to never speak soon.

You yourself vanished when your bowlers were getting a pasting.

Anyway, good comeback by OZ . Pitch grips a bit and England suddenly can't bat. Same old story.

What? I didn't vanish? Must have been the wind.

Just admit Australia is a gun side that keeps proving Indians wrong and the truth is Indians are still salty that Australia owned them in chennai.

India would have won 4 wc's if it wasn't for Australia. And theirs no shame in admitting their the abu's.

They denied pakistan 2 potential t20 world cups and an extra world cup as well. The t20 wc's pakistan could have lost due to it being a semi final in both cases but the wc final, Oof.

What's funny is that they were all one sided thrashing.

2023 final was one sided
2015 final was hilarious
2007 final was a gilchirst one sided bash
2003 final was where the so called God of cricket was put in his place and shown his aukaat against the true God of bowling
1999 was where pakistan was shown its aukaat

As for the tournament before, Don't really care, it's ancient.

Gun side still got knocked out by Afghanistan and India in the World T20. Not so gun now.

First time in the history, Australian spinners have taken 20+ wickets in an ODI bilateral series.

Most wickets taken by Aussie spinners in an ODI bilateral series:

22- vs England in 2024
19 - vs England in 2011
17 - vs South Africa in 1994

There are some ODI series that are better than the run of the mill ODI series. This is one. Good competitive series.

Duckett should've been a mainstay in the ODI team waayyy back. Not sure why England kept him out for such a long time

If there is any player on the field use any expletives , Eion Morgan is quick to apologize to the viewers. Noticed a few times. This time Head said something

Australia bowled 194 balls of spin today in Bristol - their most ever in a men's ODI innings.

Five spinners used is also a record for Australia in one-day cricket

Aussies in a hurry due to heavy rain is around the corner and they want to be high up with the DL method.

66 in in 6 overs already.

Real challenge is after spinners coming on. Even England was going like a train first 24 overs. Once the fingers spinners were on they lost the plot

This guy Mattew Short is a solid opener? He has poor stats in List A, Fc and t20 local but please develop this guy?

He + Travis + Jake fraser fully developed will unleash hell on earth?

Australia need to develop short into a batsmen, Teach him a few techniques and have him work with coaches.

Power wise, Intent wise and timing wise he's got it all.

Congrats on the series win, brother.
Thanks, but aussie bowling was bad, They need to work on it.

With that bring said, Australia needs to now look to develop Inglis and Short. Both of these are gun batters and it's clear as day Inglis should be tried at no 4.

Yes the bowling is really bad and Cummins won't make any difference.

But still a good result . A series win is a series win.

Good thing is Australia isn't bad or short on talent.

Mattew Short, Fraser, Inglis(at no 4), are fine prospects, Steve smith needs to be given one last series, His series against pakistan for odi should settle his career, otherwise labu is a decent replacement for now.

As for bowling, in the long run it'll be fun, this guy hardie isn't bad, he just started, will take time though.

Yeah Hardis is decent especially for an allrounder . And the batting talent is definitely there.

But main bowlers are going to be a big problem going forward.

They won't.

They need to get rid of the oldies now that's all and develop the young blood for 2027. That's how Australia has always done it.

But their unlikely to win ct 2025, not that they care lol.

England's bid for a comeback series victory against Australia fell short as the tourists beat the rain in Bristol to win the deciding fifth one-day international.

The hosts, having come from 2-0 down to level the series, posted 309 after being put into bat with Ben Duckett scoring 107 - his second ODI century - and captain Harry Brook 72.

But that was a disappointing total given a rampant start which took England to 202-2 inside 25 overs.

Brook's dismissal began a familiar collapse as eight wickets fell for 107 runs - all of them to spin - and his side were dismissed in their final over.

Australia were similarly aggressive at the start of their chase, openers Travis Head and Matt Short flogging 78 from the first seven overs.

Head was caught at extra cover for 31 and Short nicked behind on 58 but their onslaught had put Australia well ahead of the game with rain clouds looming.

The match threatened to end in farcical fashion with England attempting to slow proceedings and ensure the 20 overs needed for a contest were not bowled in time.

That would have meant no result and a drawn series but, with Steve Smith having nudged 36 not out to keep Australia ahead of the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern target, the rain arrived four balls into the 21st over.

At that stage Australia were 165-2, 49 runs ahead of the par score, and the players did not return - with the tourists winning the series 3-2.

England's attention now turns to a three-match Test series in Pakistan with seven of this party flying out on Tuesday.

The series opener begins in Multan on Monday, 7 October.
