Will India start defending if they lose a couple of wickets ??

Dangerous single that was. Pujara with his weak knees should not be forced to make quick singles.

Vijay gets another easy ball on the pads and rightly puts it away for a boundary

Starc once again chipping in with some vital runs. Can Aus hold India back.

India are set 133 in a minimum of 27 overs to be bowled over around two-and-a-half hours.

India should get there I reckon. Aus quicks (ie just Starc, Siddle and Enrique) may well have to bowl all the overs to have a chance of saving the game.

25 overs remaining, Dont look for wickets just save boundaries and you will win Aus.

India should not shut shop till they are four down. Shutting shop with two down is a defeatist mentality.

None of this down to the wire stuff masks the fact that we would have been easily beaten in a bit over four days had we not lost the first day to rain. Arthur and Clarke need to remind them of that fact after the Test. It's good that they showed some resistance, but end of day it's still a flogging.

Poor first over from Starc

It's tough on Starc tho, having to open the bowling after spending a bit of time at the crease trying to give himself a big enough target to bowl at.

Australia should try not to bowl any spinners just have starc and siddle bowl the 30

They will be very tired after 7-8 overs each. Siddle can bowl but not sure about Starc. I think just bowl negatively to force mistakes from Indians.

Why not just take a tactic out of dhonis book and go for a 7-2 field and bowl outside off?

Spinners will bowl some overs and it is very likely India are going to cash in.

Lyon could be a tricky customer with innocuous looking deliveries getting good batsmen out. Vijay need to be careful with his shot selection here.

I was referring to four down for <20 or so. If it is 70/5 they should be fighting.

Fair enough then. No chance India will be 5 down for less than 100 though. Just don't see that happening against this attack.

Oh dear, no pressure at all.

India should do this easy with Dhoni & Kohli in the wings.

So far watchful inning from Vijay, hope he and pujara sees off this initial burst from OZ pacers without much trouble.

Dhawan can bat at no 7 if needed. This is because he didn't field. No news that he will not bat.

Dhoni should prolly move himself up the order. Maybe even at no 3.

Too much width, who can clarke bowl to keep both ends tied down?

Starc has been brilliant with the bat but has been pretty average with the ball in Tests. Needs a bit of mongrel.

Superb yorker from Starc to finish that over off (well played out by Vijay)

Probably the last over before tea coming up

I'd play him as a bat lol and bring in Johnson for Doherty, henriques for Pattinson and Khawaja for smith/hughes/lyon.

Even in FC he has never actually been as good with the red ball as with the white. His test performances are actually similar to FC at home. He has set the world on fire with his white ball skills but never actually done the same with the red one.

Booked my tickets for the 4th test at Delhi..could be Sachin's last test
Doubt Sachins ego would allow him to call it at 198. Sachin will either go out as a hero in SA or just be another victim of the SA Juggernaut.

Awesome square drive from Pujara for 4

@Tea Break India 30 for no loss and needing another 103 runs

Yeah before the series started that's what I said. Play both MJ and Starc with Starc as an all-rounder but the squad Aus picked was a specialist bat short so it was too risky I guess.

lol, he did retire from the ODIs with 49 100s, so I am hopeful.

I can tell you this Khawaja has a big future, its a shame he's been treated so badly, if it weren't for him they would have lost in SA 2-0 but the selectors forgot that I guess..
