"19.05 The cut off time is 21.25. It is raining heavily. There are huge puddles in the ground and it doesn't look like any match will happen today."

And that is that.
 
Just saw the ground. It doesn't look good. I doubt the match will continue.
 
According to CricIndia, IF the match is abandoned, Pakistan goes to semis. India will have to 'depend' on Pakistan to get to the semis.

so momo if game discontiues will both teams get one point each?
what happens next,
can some one shed some light on this...
 
ahahhah fee lbad for india, i wonder if the inidan media blames on the weather for not making it to the semis ....

Yes both teams will get one point each, all but kicking India out of the tournament.
 
Harsha Bhogle says he expects the game to be called off in the next hour at the maximum, maybe even earlier.
 
No way they can have a 20 over second inning. It's bye bye this match...

Yep, just saw it too. There's buckleys chance of this match going. Bummer, we wanted to confirm our semifinal appearance today. :(

austalia will have 3 pints, inidia will have 1. india will then have to beat west indies (by big margin) to get 3 points, and pak will HAVE to beat australia, this will leave india and australia with 3 points each, the team with the better runrate are through........

by the way, pak is already through cuz they have 4 points plus a great runrate... :afridi

Hmm...who to play in the finals India or Australia? I would pick Australia, I just don't have the stomach for another India-Pakistan game!
 
Pakistan have to win against the Aussies. The team with the most points in our group gets to play at centurion which as a pitch is the closest to resemble subcontinent conditions.

A semis at centurion will almost gaurantee us a finals birth, I don't care if India gets through to semis or to the finals. Pakistan will beat them regardless.
 
A draw or India win today makes the last two matches important. Well done South Africa

Mate look at the recent scores from the wanderers, the scores are getting higher and higher. I think that pitch is becoming easier to bat on with some nice even bounce coming onto the bat.

Agreed. Is there a chance for shower between Aus and Pak match? Pak will top the group with 5 point if that match is abandoned.

They will prepare fresh pitches for the semi's especially for Pakistan.

Match abandoned. Not good. I wanted to see Aus beating India by a big margin and going up in their ranking.

Another thing, Pakistan is a team that does very badly once complacency settles in. If Pakistan don't keep the momentum going it will only lead to bad things.

History has shown Pakistan are quite momentum oriented. Lets try out Asif but insure we keep winning.

yea India has slight and very slight chance of staying...they would have to literally trash West Indies and Pak would also have to win by big margin..then it will come down to India's and Australia's NRR, which at this point looks like this...Australia: +1.000
India: -1.080

the rain has helped india. Aus were on their way to 300+ and as we saw the last 2 nights its too big a score to chase under lights.

India should be thankful - they still have a chance whereas they would be out if rain had not intervened.

Quick question for you guys. Where is Irfan Pathan nowdays and why is he not playing? Anyone? Thanks.
 
I hear he's trying to develop his doosra to make himself a more potent threat in the middle overs.

Well if they consider P.Kumar as fast/medium and worthy of opening the bowling then clearly there isn't much hope left for Irfan is there.

On the other hand they could have played him as a batsman against us. He always plays well against us with the bat.
