Looks the exact same wicket as the one ENG played on previously..... Batsmen (well the one who put a price on their wicket) are now bearing the fruits of hardwork

How much I wished to see an indian dominate Australia at gabba! Brings back memories of vvs

Fairly typical Gabba track imo. Not especially flat.

Combination of an inexperienced attack and some bad luck. And some good batting.

Had those 2 catches of Johnson been held (neither that hard a catch either) we'd be well into India now with the new ball still up our sleeve.

Normal gabba pitch.

Typical gabba pitch is pretty good for batting, gives the bowlers something if they bowl very well as we have seen with hazlewood but it also punishes severely ordinary bowling as we seen with starc.

I'm happy the way this team is shaping. . Not dependent on a single batsman

Pretty typical, there was assistance for the quicks early but we bowled poorly. I thought it would swing a bit more but the sun is out. India have batted well.

Yes , we need to accept India has batted well , they are improved as batting unit.

Its so hard to believe that in Brisbane we are not rolled out for less than 200 and Vijay has a 100 that we are confused its the real pitch or brisbane 2003

Australia struggling here. Australia's strength is their bowling and India are dominating it. When you look at their batting only Warner and Smith are good enough and it was also these two who scored in UAE. Must be the worst Aussie batting line-up ever. India should win this one, need about 450-500 in first innings.

In all the Test matches away, India never really had any trouble with the bounce. Surprisingly, its been spinners who have killed us.

A rookie, pies from starc and an out of form johnson isn't exactly the normal aussie attack though, you could say we don't really have a strong suit this match it's the weakest looking batting and bowling we have had in a while.

Who are the other commentators atm..? Apart from Hayden ie..

We have a speed bump waiting ahead.. Rohit 'Lazzzy counts as style/talent' Sharma

Hazlewood has done pretty well imo, Starc shouldn't be picked for any tests if he cant trouble Indians and Johnson must be frustrated with the drops so he is spraying it everywhere.
But i wonder if Johnson bowls well only when partnering with Harris??

Lols you can twist and turn it as you wish, but MJ was bowling amazingly in UAE and he is oit of form now? Hazlewood, though new to Test cricket has already played alot of FC mstches and is already a very fine bowler abd he has in fact bowles quite well. Starc is also a good bowler but he has been put under preassure by the indians here.
In general these three should be good enough in home conditions against a sub continental team, just like Pakistan's inexperienced attack was good enough against you guys in UAE.

The only time a visiting team has made 300+ on the opening day of a Gabba Test match: West Indies 359/7 on 9-12-1960 (tied Test!)

The Gabba is a wicket that often rewards good, aggressive batting on the first day.

India are playing very well and getting their just rewards

Hazlewood is lucky to get a free debut wicket thanks to the BCCI's pigheadedness.

Isn't brisbane always supposed to be hot during this time why is it looking as its Chennai's heat troubling Aussie bowlers.Anyhow this innings might give a boost to our low confidence for future lets see.

17-0-73-0 are Lyon's figures so far.

Indians seem to have woken up from their deep slumber against the spinners.

Only rain can save Aus now, not every day you can say that lols

Its not like Indian bowlers are going to take 20 wickets..i think we should all bet on that..I say India bowlers are going to take 14 wickets this time around.

That's pretty incredible. Well done Vijay!

How is Gambhir there?

Last I remember he kept nicking it outside off.

That was a no ball!
Do these commentators close their eyes when the side on replays are being played? There is nothing else to really comment on really when that frame comes up.. !

If they bowl in right channels they will get those 20. They have the pace so focus on line and length. Rest the pitch and the poor aussie batsman will take care of. As I have said get Warner and Smith early and you are in with a big chance.

I wonder if this pitch suits Rahaane more than one could think they had put up his dismissal off spinners and that was pathetic.
