With Starcs injury Aussies are going to have bat big on 1st inns, they dont want a 2nd inns shoot out with 1 bowler less

lmao first ever cricket match :)))

Australia well on top, we needed to take 4-5 last night to have any chance. This match is done and dusted.

Felt McCullum messed up with his captaincy.
Yeah, he's been pretty terrible of late.

Probably will retire after the series against Aus at home.

We need someone safer at 5, he should be opening if he's going to play the way he has been of late.

:))) :)))

It's still moving around nicely Convict, the Aussie pacers weren't getting any movement like this.

jeez i have eaten marshmallows that were harder than the marsh boys.

Might be 3 marsh men facing the axe this summer.

Rooting for NZ but man is their bowling attack boring. Hardly any skill with the ball apart from new ball swing.

Writing on the wall for Craig, he hasn't bowled yet while Santner has already bowled 6.

horror shot from smith, 3 tailenders left and a bowler down i think we are in for a flogging.

Kiwis on top , just three wickets to get , they will have handy lead , but need to make sure that tail does not wag here.

Haven't watched the game much, but what do you guys think of the pink ball so far? Are the bowlers able to swing it? Does it get good movement? Does it last the full quota of overs, or do they replace it often?

It still looks like Pink Panther's testicle so I don't know what to think.

It's no different from the red kookaburra, just a different colour. The worry was spotting it clearly at night and there haven't been any complains so far.

Im still not a huge fan of the pink ball but i don't think it was to blame for todays collapse, was just poor batting even worse running.

This would have happened at the WACA too (maybe add an extra 100-150 runs for the easier batting conditions) if Australia had lost the toss. Far too reliant on Warner and Smith, if neither makes a hundred, the team won't get anywhere near a decent total. And if there's any sort of scoreboard pressure at all, forget it, they haven't got the mental fortitude to deal with that.

Also the tail is so weak without Johnson, it's made up of three number 11's in Lyon, Siddle and Hazlewood.

No chance. WACA was too flat.

17 wickets in 4 sessions, any complains about the pitch?

No, it's been fantastic. The pink ball has swung more than the red one did which is why there are more wickets. Swing is independent of pitch conditions.

Your opinion of Australian batsmen is too generous, they have zero mental strength. I don't care if they were batting in a ground the size of my 10 metre by 5 metre backyard, if a team scores 500, 600 in the first innings against Australia, they've got an innings win all sewed up.

nah only a suicide declaration by one skipper was going to see a result at the waca.

This is a great stadium experience.

This year I've been to the Gabba Test (boring, too hard to get people out) and World Cup matches at Auckland, Sydney (2) and Melbourne (2).

The late start means it's not too hot, the pink ball has brilliant visibility and the grassy surface means a terrific balance between bat and ball so that every ball of every over is a tense spectacle.

I just love it. Keep T20, but what is the niche for ODIs now we have Night Tests.

Just brilliant!

Australia needs to try to bat time, not runs, so the Pink Ball is still shiny when it gets dark.

Im not really sure what you are trying to say?

Desi Launda asked why did NZ play 2 spinners? I replied because Adelaide turns a bit and Aussies aren't the best against spin therefore going with 2 spinners would be logical instead of 4 seamers.

Lol you are everywhere.

Does anyone have specs of this pink ball? Seems a little lighter in weight. Just bounced off the shoulder like no tomorrow.

There's no point, it's only past lunch on day 2! No chance of a draw. Might as well swing the bat and hit a few DLF Maximums.

Missed the DRS controversy, but it's the rules that snicko overpowers HotSpot. Same logic saw Khawaja given out in a shocking decision in the 2013 Ashes, the ball was a metre from the bat and hotspot showed no edge but there was a faint mark on the snicko and that was enough for the TV umpire to uphold the on field decision.

Kixis need to wrap it quickly. Not sure why they aren't bowling some short stuff at Lyon.

Why are NZ playing 2 spinners?
I have no clue. Santner is an AR so that may be the cause and Neesham has been shocking so that helps. God I miss Scotty and Oram.

But now I seem to have been affected by the spoken too soon syndrome.

Finally some proper Test cricket. Played Gaz! This should be a cracker.

S Ravi you legend. Raised the finger as if he really had to go.

Nasty yorker there. Starc should bat with a Chanderpaul stance so the injured foot is not exposed to yorkers

That decision literLly changed the whole complexion of the game.
