What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 1st Test | Brisbane | Dec 15-19, 2016 | Day 1

Aussies have really upped the ante. They are sailing to 200. Ominous signs for Pakistan.

Australia is going to demolish Pakistan.Once a big partnership has been built of 100 or more, Pakistan team as usual will lose all hope which will be evident by their body language and Australia will score 450 plus.Australia is finding it easy to face bowlers of caliber of Rahat,Wahab,Aamir after facing thunderbolts of Rabada, swing of Philander.

Last 10 ovs 50/0 RR 5.00 - Pakistan bowling needs to step up , especially Rahat Ali.

SOme ridiculous captaincy by Misbah. Why the hell is yasir bowling this leg-sidish line to Renshaw when he doesnt even have a off-side game

Rahat does not have look of fast bowler.

Too many inconsistent balls from him , there are no doubt better bowlers than him in Pakistan.

Even with stronger bowling attacks Pakistan could not win in Australia , this is worst bowling attack Pakistan has gathered , thanks Inzamam.

The irony is why select 2 right arm pace bowlers if you were not going to play atleast one of them.

As I predicted, Pakistan will receive a drubbing of their lifetime in this series.

Last 10 ovs 58/0 RR 5.80

Australia 147/2 (41.1 ov)

Is this test match or ODI - bowlers needs to bowler tighter than this.

This is how you set up a floodlight declaration.

In daylight you have to bat almost like in an ODI.

I can bet my life Australia won't declare even if they are 300-2 at stumps.

They might get bowled out, but they won't declare.

Good bowling by Wahab.

But god does this Renshaw guy look like a spud Convict

Excellent bowling from Wahab. Renshaw has technical issues which he exploited well. Need to build on this and Smith is still there.

So stupid bowling Rahat. Gave up so many runs. Could have had this wicket 10 overs ago had we started second session with Wahab.

Smith and Handscomb the key.

Can't depend on Mad Dog

You are wrong Doc., Aussies will definitely declare, if they can reach 554/7 by dinner tomorrow.

Wahab has bowled really well today. The run rate has slowed down again and we've gotten a wicket just because we took Rahat off. God he's been awful today

We could hve had this wicket in first hour if there was a half decent bowler with Amir

Aussie newbies will now to be exposed to the high class bowling.

Handscomb
Maddinson
Wade

and then a proper tail

Easy wickets

Aussies are scoring @3.5 here , they should be 300 plus easily at the end of day. That is not a bad score.

Pakistan will have to bat really well to manage a draw here.

Why are you assuming a guy like Handscomb who earned his selection the traditional way is rubbish?

Yep, realized he's young and on debut.

Whatever happened to the opener who played the last 2 Tests against SA?

Are you seriously going to judge an opener who just turned 20 and had played about one season of professional cricket on how he looked against Abbott, Philander and Rabada?

H'comb is a dominant back foot player, don't think plays much on top hand.

Wait, it's the same guy? :))

For someone so young to be playing international cricket, I would have expected him to be a lot better than he is currently.

Why throw him into the deep end? Doesn't seem ready at all and appears to have a few holes in his game.

He made his debut in Adelaide.

10, 34* and 71. Not that bad a start to a career for a young bloke. Especially given how good the South African pace attack is.
