Australia v Pakistan | 1st Test | Brisbane | Dec 15-19, 2016 | Day 4

I will be very thankful to starc if he can do more of this to amir, it will really help amir to put these aussies in their place with his bowling in next two test. Because fast bowlers are best when they are really into it. So keep it up starcy.
 
Pakistan should stop being softy.. Wahab should start sledging these cry babies...

Guys, whatever happened to mr ehsan adil, his height and swing/seam would have been ideal here, no? Jas he not been performing lately?
 
Amir could become a Chris Woakes with the bat if he works hard to improve.

Although it would be very unlikely.
 
This 12 runs by amir uptill now would had been a 50 had the fielding team been some other team instead of australia #ahmedshezadLogic

Most subcontinent pitches don't have this much bounce on first day :))

Gabba can defn not be compared to SC pitches but tbf there are some deliveries that are not bouncing that much.
 
Sharjeel needs to be brought in next match. Everyone playing with a positive approach is doing good.
 
Not to sound too optimistic, but looking ahead things should get better for Pakistan.

1.) Gabba pitch was always going to be the hardest
2.) Compounded by the Day/Night match
3.) We clearly got the worst conditions to bat (not to say we batted well)

I do think Yasir will be in the game a bit more at MCG and SCG. His figures would have looked better if it weren't for a couple of dropped catches. But our problem is getting enough runs on the board.

Babar Azam for all his talent needs to start putting more innings together (like the 90 in NZ) that match his promise. SCG and MCG provides us with the best opportunity to put runs on the board.

Fingers crossed.

Amir is playing better than aslam...
Sharjeel should be brought in place of aslam.
 
Somehow Shafiq doesn't seem that assured on the crease ,could be because of the time.
 
Aslam should play , do not need to out the youngster to dent his confidence. If i remember well he scored a 90 against newzealand.

I agree with every point.Plus mostly every batsman(except Misbah) is in decent form now,or getting there.

Rahat is definitely a worry.
 
Amir runs faster between wickets than many of Pakistani top batsmen but should take care of his bat and crease it accordingly, he has been really impressive this test.

I do understand Mickey Arthurs point abotu Sohail Khan. On form, there is no way you can drop Sohail. However, his fitness has been a concern and grounds in Australia are harder than NZ and England so it will only take more toll on his body. However, next game I'd bring Sohail back in the mix and drop Rahat. Also bolsters our batting.
 
This is a good fightback by the lads. Heartening to see. Some questionable batting in the 1st inns and dropped catches has resulted in their current position but this should give them confidence that this Australian team is nothing to fear about and go into the nest 2 matches going for a win.
 
Rumours spreading around that Pakistan are going to drop Babar and play Sharjeel at the MCG.

Ridiculous decision if true.
 
One thing to note is that we are at our best when we score. And that is the way test cricket is played these days . . you just can not let the bowlers get over you . .

Sami, Azhar and Misbah have absolutely no intention to score . . which impacts the whole team.

You have to be proactive about scoring in today's cricket. That upsets the bowlers rhythm . . you can't let them keep bowling to you . . even if the bowlers get you out, at least you'd have scored decent runs . . the problem with Pakitan is . . they bat way too slowly . . so even when they play 90 overs, they have only made 200 runs and they have lost the same number of wickets other teams would lose . . the difference being, the other teams would already be at 270 280 . .

This is exemplified by the way Sarfaraz has batted in this test match . . Asad, Amir and Younis in this innings after the first 30 balls or so . .

You need to be proactive in your scoring!!! Can't just dead bat!
