so far almost every pakistani batsmen has had 2 gears, either full on block everything, or start sloging.........no one has played their natural game so far, just good defense, hit the bad balls, good cricketing shots

Agree 100%. I think Pak players have forgotten how to play the middle gear.

Umar did play his natural game. Then, he got out trying to play his natural game.

P.S Dropped chance of Misbah.

After saving the follow on, I think Aamer should have a go at the bowlers without caring about losing his wicket. The kid needs rest to get ready to bowl in the second innings.

Misbah in such total control that he's decided he's only going to use the edge to give Australia a chance, we're watching a true master at work here

See, he's SO good that he using just the edge of his bat he can place the ball exactly in Ponting's blind spot so he can't catch it. This is an innings you'll be telling your grandchildren about

Luck running with Pakistan at the moment. They could have had about 3 run outs plus a catch taken.

Dropped on purpose I'm sure. He wants to keep Misbah in the team for the next two games, doesn't want Younus to come back. ANd this goes back to Mohammad Yousuf some how.

All part of a master plan.

This is probably the first time I have seen Ponting drop a sitter. He never does that.

74.5
Johnson to Misbah-ul-Haq, no run, edged and dropped by Ponting at second slip. Fuller and outside the off stump and Misbah pushes away from his body and gets the edge and Ponting drops a sitter.
:misbah

Just amazing, Pointing does the unthinkable, drops a sitter almost the same way Umar did.

The creativity of PP folk dwarfs those representing us on the cricket field. :))

it looks like he tried to kicked the ball to haddin after he dropped it....wouldve looked cool if he pulled it off

Read the quote above you, it clears things up.

Khana 190-5

Aamer bats the whole session. Very well done.

10 off 76 balls.

Cant ask for more than that.

cricinfo messup continues , a knock off match is above Pak-Vs Aus test match and SA/Eng not even in progress right now at the top ... Have not seen such things before

Lunch day 3: The players walk off for a good lunch, Aamer has done extremely well to stay on. Umar Akmal played well to get to a half century, he was in an attacking mood and he hit Watson for 18 runs in an over.
:)) lol at Crapinfo

Good session for Pakistan

Take it session by session. Next milestone is to get to Tea without any drama

that was a tailender shot by Misbah but luckily Punter dropped it - what a pathetic #6 we have got!!

Do you guys ever remeber Ponting dropping such a sitter?

Pakistan really need to make sure they fight for their lives here in the first inns. No point just avoiding the follow on, and let Australia get a lead of 400 with 4 sessions of the match remaining.

omar akmal is making a habit of throwing his wicket away and thats really not good

but anywyas that one over of siddle against umar made my day

hahaha, there showing shoaib akhtar vs aussies. he was soooooo cocky, he was like watson x10

I think he might have dropped one in the Ashes, maybe even in the drawn Cardiff test, but can't be sure.

Expect Michael Clarke to be given the bowl before this match is over. Especially with our record against left arm spinners. Just hope Ponting hasn't realised this.

Aamer's still there, he's done well. It's amazing how the circumstances prevailing at a particular time can influence strong reaction at one time and acceptability at another.

Had Afridi played an innings like Umar Akmal a year ago even, we would have lambasted the fella till no end. But our batting feels so repressed at this moment in time that we laud Umar's actions today and not a word uttered of his reckless yet critical dismissal. So much so that had he have been batting now, we would have had a stronger chance of saving this match. As it stands we're still in a bit of a jam. No thanks to Ukmal.

Aamer has done a very good job but we need him for his bowling. He should not be batting after tea. Need to rest so he is ready to steam in 2nd innings.

Akmal showed the way, we just have to pick it from there. He shouldn't be criticized. He still young, watch out for him in the second inning

right now we need to score and have wickets in hand. He seems pretty settled there.

we're getting closer to 300, if we get there than that will be a huge achioevment considerin the start we got, if we bat all day than we might get close to the aussies by tonight.

Would have been funny if he had kicked it into Haddin's jaw (in a very cruel sort of way).

i really like mitchell johnsons action. i think thats probably what confuses the batsmen which leads to outs

New ball due in 4 overs. It will be interesting to see how we cope with it....

Let's hope these two can take us to 250 without boring us to death. Literally.
