What ever we might think, he is the proper batsman and needs to take charge of the situation. Otherwise we would be 6 down soon. surely cant be relying in a 17 year old bowler to get us out of a hole.

Think of it this way if he can stay and keep taking singles, Aamir and Akaml hopefully can score some good runs.
 
I am sure management are also doing some planning so ... How much will Aamir and Karmran partnership be? 43 runs???

Yes, but would it hurt if he could score a little bit faster.
 
Mark Taylor putting the point across that it a 19 year old playing his 1st test ever against Australia to take the attack to them - And the opening 3 who have 6 hundreds between them really let the Aus bowlers bowl really well!

we are talking about scoring runs not just hogging the crease. Akmal should be the one to step up to the plate

Not really, to quote from yesterday, Afridi has laid so many ducks that he can open a duck farm. Umar Akmal actually scores runs, Afridi raises hopes and then gets out usually in single digits.
 
Pakistan team is cold. No wonder they are having problems even here. Players are wearing thermals/skins/sweaters. Aamir is wearing both thermal and sweater. I hope Fawad brings him a nice hot tea next drinks break

Well, the our first objective is to avoid the follow on. Then we have to decrease the lead as much as we can.

I just wonder does he have any plan? Does he know he needs to score few runs too. I know he is capable of. I have seen him bat. He use to be pretty aggressive. I think he is more worried about losing his place in the playing X1
 
Judging by the Australian commentator's words, either we are very harsh on our top order or the Aussies have got it terribly wrong. They have a lot of respect for our talent, but are critical of the execution. Maybe their confidence issue is down to us, the supporters.

If we manage to play out the first 2 session completely we still maybe have chance in this game. Now only half hour left to lunch Misbah & Amir just stick to the wicket please! :misbah :aamir
