PAK will never fulfil it's potential unless a bowler or all-rounder is made Captain. Batting is not the strength of the team even philosophically - every batsman or WK Captain had been pathetically defensive & poor tactician. On top of that, Sarfu is an automatic starter for all 3 formats where he keeps & he has few years hidden in his official age - his work load has to be managed.

I'll make Amir Test & ODI Captain & may be Amir or Imad as T20 deputy under Sarfu. Imad isn't good enough to hold an ODI spot, hence he can be made T20 Captain after Sarfu with complete focus on that format.

I wanted Amir to be captain as well but he has no captaincy experience and it will never happen after the Spot Fixing scandal.

Best thing is to make Sarfraz captain and Babar Vice Captain. Then in 4-5 years time Babar can take over captaincy.

I'd give Wahab a chance while this ball is nice & hard- 440 to play with and no chance of losing, perfect time to just let the tiger loose and see if he can have his day.

You need a Captain for that, who is willing to buy wickets & actually knows how to unleash fast bowlers.

Spot fixing is an issue, but experience has nothing to do with Captaincy potential. You don't become a Captain by experience - several great Captains actually was made Test Captains as their 1st leadership experience - Imran, Pataudi are 2 instant name comes to mind. Make him Captain and make sure that whoever makes any noise against him as long as Amir is fair, doesn't wear PAK cap.

I am not leading the Pakistan cricket team after spending a good amount of time in jail.

Yes, he deserves to play.

But that doesnt mean he should be garlanded with flowers and paraded through streets like some sort of hero because we have to make sure that he is not made some victim.

You don't deserve Captaincy - it's not democracy that 43 years old Captain will be replaced by 35 years old deputy. This is not 1996 either that you have 6/7 potential great in the team for Captaincy. Both Imran & Akram were made Captains without even leading FC sides.

Cricket captains are chosen for few basic traits - and the selection is made looking at the trait, more than anything else. AUS made Ian, Greg & Taylor Captain in their 3rd/4th year when half of the team was senior to them - that's one of the reason AUS had equal number of Test Captains since WW2, at the point of time, when once PAK had in playing XI.
