West Indies have won the toss and will bowl first. Can they end on a high with a consolation victory or will Australia clean sweep this series?

West Indies team is seriously poor in formats other than t20, full of sloggers and bits and pieces players like Sammy. They will get destroyed in tests by any decent team. I miss the days of Ambrose/ Lara :(

West Indies tour of Australia, 5th ODI: Australia v West Indies at Melbourne, Feb 10,

Australia:

Shane Watson, Aaron Finch, Phil Hughes, Shaun Marsh, Adam Voges, Brad Haddin, James Faulkner, Mitchell Johnson, Ben Cutting Clint McKay, Xavier Doherty

West Indies:

1 Kieran Powell, 2 Johnson Charles, 3 Darren Bravo, 4 Dwayne Bravo, 5 Kieron Pollard, 6 Narsingh Deonarine, 7 Devon Thomas, 8 Darren Sammy, 9 Sunil Narine, 10 Tino Best, 11 Kemar Roach

West Indies won the toss and elected to field

Tino Best bringing the heat we are 2/1 at the moment.

Finch fails again, gotta be curtains for him.

Tino is breathing fire! love it. Great pitch btw...nice to see the ball dominating

Sad to see Finch fail, but he has had plenty of chances. Give Khawaja/ Marsh a full series and how it goes, Ferguson should also get a decent run.

"Let me see if I can rationalize Russell being dropped and why, of the four all-rounders in the team, he is the one who always have to sit out. In ODIs batting - Sammy averages 21.13, Bravo 24.08, Pollard 26.44 and Russell 31.23. Bowling - Sammy averages 41.91, Bravo 31.20, Pollard 36.66 and Russell 31.22. Strike rate - Sammy 54.3, Bravo 35.1, Pollard 40.5 and Russell 33.7. I dont think I need to point out who has the worst averages and who has the best. So unfair to Russell."

Darn jinxed that for Marsh.

Can't understand the hate by WI supporters towards Sammy.

Adam Voges looks really good...

How do you guys rate him ?

I remember Voges taking a spectacular catch off McCullum in a T20 once.

Great century by Voges

Good WA boy and more importantly a good Melville boy.

Nice bloke as well.

Probably has a use in the ODI form of the game. Also a much better bat than Maxwell

yeah a useful ODI player I feel.

Aus finish on 274/5

WI to fall short again I presume.

Another loss likely here for WI. Australia once again this series have made a comeback after the top order failed.

Excellent innings played by Voges, supported well by Haddin and Faulkner

Darren sammy chickening out from bowling towards the end again, what a surprise

Better than likes of White/ Haddin

Haddin is a wicketkeeper. White is not selected for Australia anymore. Maxwell is an all rounder.

Voges played a good innings today, well done. But i dont think it is the start of anything.

WI wont get close.

he has always been that sort of a player, bits and pieces. I believe that they need to bring in a specialist batsman like chanders in the side. WI has more than enough bowlers

RA,

Why has Voges played so less for Australia? He has a very good record in all formats and looks a quality, versatile batsman. Sadly is 33 now, but one would have expected him to get a whole lot more chances considering the middle order problems Australia has faced in the last few years.

His FC stats are inflated due to a season of averaging 70+ in Notts in England. Has done little in the Shield IIRC.

I know West Indies are on top, but they screw up too many chases for them to inspire any sort of confidence in me.

I will believe it if they are 200/1 !

Pollard should come in now....

If Windies want to win.
