Lol they were chasing something around 180.what about in qf they were chasing wahab riaz was on fire
What an useless bowler this Rashid is . I don't think he is the worst main spinner among all teams. Atleast others had odd good moments.
This game is such a leveller. Two important wickets in an over at a crucial stage
Stoinis has always been a pathetic player. Can't understand how he makes into the Australian team.
Australia are well behind the asking rate. Don't think this pitch is a 240 one. More like 270-280.
Mitchell Marsh would have done better than Stonis in this WC.
Might have but Marsh is also mediocre. Best All rounder Aus produced atleast in the last two decades and was still much better then these mediocre players was Shane Watson who was I think bit hard done.
True. One brainfade followed by another clueless poke.
Smitih will stick around. I don't trust this maxwell guy yet. His feet movement is suspect. With a bit of luck he may find his touch.
Marsh is good in ODIs. He averages 35 with the bat. That's excellent for a number 5/6 . And is a better bowler than Stonis.
IN all fairness Australia is running out of quality players. This is all they have. I don't think they have a RIcky ponting waiting in Australia. Still relies on Warner, Smith a lot. Others are not upto the standards of past Australian greats. Carey is good. But by means a Gilchrist.
Cricket is not popular in England. India vs England test series had the grounds empty. John Cena is more popular than Alistair Cook (who's knighted)
Even Stoinis was averaging in high 30s before this WC. Marsh wasnt exactly doing what was expected of him and he was dropped because of that, Aussies are pretty tough if you couldn’t perform a role defined to you.
Personally I also think Marsh was even technically much superior than Stoinis but he wasnt exactly setting the world on fire as well when he was regular.
Test in the subcontinent also has empty grounds. And popularity depends on perception too. Cricket is one of the moderately popular sports in England besides the as usual no.1 soccer.
Yes, cricket is not popular in England if you compare it to Indian subcontinent. But only the number one sport doesnt represent everyone aka soccer in england or cricket in india.
Saying Cricket is not popular in England is equivalent of saying Hockey is not popular in India or even football. Thats sound right?
Ricky Ponting doesn't come around every day. Australia are the greatest cricketing nation. They will be fine. They don't need to produce Gilchrist and Ponting to be a good team.

Subcontinent fans should learn from English and Australian fans how to watch a cricket match.Asian fans get carried away and make too much noise.I don't like their antics.
Many teams are and I am thinking its just a phase. I havent seen Indian middle order as mediocre as we have seen in this WC while SA has also been struggling big time in recent times. Pak also wasnt able to find decent talent for most years of this decade but then fortunately few players like Babar Azam, Imam, Shaheen etc developed and appeared.
So I guess its just a cycle, a good domestic structure can make sure that players with talent and temperament dont go to waste but talent is born in my opinion it can only be nurtured but cant be created.
Cricket isn't even in top 5 sport in England. Not even Ashes is that popular. Cricket is much more popular in Australia, yes, but England? Nope.

Aus will make 270+.

250-270 would be a very good score given the pressures of a semi final. Not much batting after these two though.
It's not a phase for Australia. They really don't have anymore talent in store. All the best players are playing today (except Shawn Marsh and Khawaja).
Football, Rugby, Cricket is probably the order of popularity in England. Not sure what else you're thinking of that pushes it out of the top 5.
