Australia vs India | 2nd Test | Perth | Dec 14-18, 2018 | Day 4 Thread

He has been struggling in Test cricket badly. Barring that fluke century in a dead rubber, he did nothing as far as I remember.

Rahul should stick to T20’s only. He is another Rohit Sharma in the making.

No, he's a good test player, unlike Sharma. But, he needs some time off from the team. Has to be sent to domestics for a season or two.

Murali Vijay is just one full and straight bowl away from the comforts of the dressing room

Can't see the collapse of these tailender bats! Switching off the TV and gonna follow ths scores on Cricinfo until Virat gets out.

oh man harsha bhogle is a certified head ache giver

lol Travis Head sledging just shows how low Aussie stocks have fallen

such a mediocre cricketer lol and he is Aussie sledger-in-chief here

Murali Vijay seems to have no control over his batting right now

though he could go and score a decent innings here who knows

This is painful to watch, would rather fail gloriously than look to survive like this. Our batting is in deep ****, playing with merely 3.5 batsmen these days.

Imagine Kohli getting out here. He's not gonna get good wishes from the Aussies for all his over the top antics on the field .

India won't win this game from here. Needed openers to see off the new ball. Pujara should open for the next game. He is perfectly suited to open.

When you have openers like Murali Vijay who last played a good inning ages ago and everyone's darling KL Rahul then you can't win matches and series away from home. :inti

I haven't watched a Test Match for a while but is this a unique match or did Test cricket somehow suddenly returned to its former glory.

Now can we please drop useless KL Rahul or not? His fans have disappeared from this planet. :inti

Any player on this forum who was compared to Kohli have met with all kinds of misfortune. :jimmy

Even Steven Smith himself has suffered :ssmith

Rahul's career was damaged the day a certain member started a certain thread...

Also, is it just me or watching cricket played in Australia or England just look, sound and feel so much better than any other country.

We needed to go after this total to have any chance. The pitch is doing all sorts. As soon as the toss was lost our goose was cooked.

If Kohli pulls this off he is in reckoning for being better than Sachin

We will lose this test by 75-100 runs or even more but what an amazing test pitch. Lost the test due to a poor team selection in hindsight. Umesh proved to be a total disaster, even slightly better bowling from him and we could have run Aussies close despite not playing a spinner.

Hope MCG and SCG have similar type of test wickets as well. Makes for such an engrossing viewing, keeps you glued to the telly.

I doubt if even Viv or Bradman could pull this off. It's next to impossible. We needed a good start for it to happen.

I wish I were in Perth. I would have surely done something about K.L. Rahul so that he doesn't get to play the next 2 Tests.

Watching Kohli before he came on to bat - guy's concentration levels are unreal!

Australia can afford to totally ignore Kohli and get the remaining 8 batters out. But they are fighters and each bowler is going to try their hardest to get the prize wicket. I bet on Cummins to get Kohli within the next hour. :afridi

Pujara got a excellent ball .
41/2 & these 2 are now looking steady . How much impact will Lyon have in this innings ?

Paine leaping to collect one delivery and collecting other at shin height. Number of cracks as well. Wonderful to watch.

IMO the Australians are making a mistake by bowling cross seam. There is movement off the pitch when the seam hits the wicket. Not making best use of the favorable conditions.

This is a hit-the-deck-hard kind of pitch. If you are going to just put the ball there on a length like you would do in England and expect the ball to do something dangerous, it's not going to happen. The pitch is still good to bat on the length and fuller length areas. Its the back of the length deliveries where the pitch is misbehaving. Neil Wagner would've been ideal on this pitch. Cummins probably not so. India is still very much in the run chase as long as Kohli is there.

Creating a slight glimour of hope ,only to come crashing down when Kohli will eventually be dismissed with a long way to go.
Seen it all the last 12 months . :dw

Paine to Vijay: "I know he's your captain, but you must not like him"
