What's new

Australia vs India | 4th Test | Sydney | Jan 3-7, 2019 | Day 1 Thread

Just like how India would have won more tests in Eng if they had won Tosses and had Bumrah and Kumar not injured ? Let me guess that doesnt apply to India which you will not explain because now you will be running away from this thread

As expected, no reply from that poster to this post :))

Absolutely right, If SMith and Warner were playing, they would still be using sandpaper and sending these already brittle Indian batsmen quicker to the pavilion.

Another thing to ponder about is, Kohli has not lost a single test in his career after winning the toss..

Meanwhile Pujara laying into Labuschagne with three fours in an over...

I think Sri Lanka also has a very good chance of winning test series in Australia next month. It's like a golden opportunity for Asian teams to bag some wins when two of the best batsmen of the game are missing..

Agreed

Aus don't need sandpaper to beat this team. This weak Aus team has already shown they're capable of doing so without it and their two best batsmen.

You come off real bitter in this thread.

For heavensake they are playing on their home ground against an INdian side with terrible selection. So India is not exactly strong. If you think this is the BEST India can field then you are mistaken. Far from it.

India dominated this session too much.

How on earth they picked Rahul . He could possibly fail against high school XI of Australia at this point.

Yes, That is why I doff my hat to Kohli and Pujara for standing up and delivering in Australia. Without these two, India would be trailing 0-3 this series.

Indian fans made it a thing when I pointed out this team was poor. I've been watching Australian summer the last ~15 years and it was shocking how bad the batting was. I would have dropped it at that, but they've come at me and tried to play up the series win and accomplishment.

So easily triggered then eh.

I'm a realist.

I know our series win isn't as impressive as it would have been if YK and Misbah were still around. This Pakistan team is still rebuilding and it wasn't as special as it could have been. Pakistan also gifted us the first Test.

True. This is the weakest Australia batting line up EVER!

pakistan has been rebuilding since 2003 world cup. Try some new excuse.

Top post!

If one thing, this series showed Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood are way too overrated.

A lineup of Hilfenous, Johnson,Siddle, and Harris were more potent.

I'd rate your draw last time over series win now tbh..

So you lost the CT to a team who is still rebuilding? :))

The Test team has been in rebuildi since they lost YK and Misbah...

Yeah that was definitely more impressive. Pakistan looked untouchable back then, they're beatable in the UAE now.

This is a team in transition and we have a pretty bad captain in Sarfraz. Pakistan should do well once he is sacked from test duties. He is still good in limited overs matches though.

lol Cummins man! And you never know what shady stuff was happening for Johnson,Siddle .

Harris was very good ,no doubt there.

I don't know about ever, but it's the worst I've ever seen by a stretch.

Even the batsmen who are usually decent are low on confidence/under pressure/out of form.

Warner failed in 2017 ashes, but still khwaja, shaun, mitchell were making big runs against England.
The only reason they failed in this series is due to great bowling by indians.

Let me explain to some of the frustrated souls out there please let me explain the case for India. In sub continent pitches, India will win regardless of toss. For example England won 4 tosses out of 5 and Australia won 3 out of 4 when they were in India. In overseas conditions against SENA countries., India will win the match when they win the toss and might pull off a victory once in a while when lose the toss. Doesn't matter whether smith or warner or commins or starc in the opposition team. SA 3rd test and England 2nd test are examples. So I would proundly say India dominating test cricket right now.

India winning a series here is giving a sleepless nights to quite a few people, Pak,BD, NZ. Wow, more than this match, i am enjoying Aman's frustration. Buddy keep it up, you're a great fun.

Brother, the thing is, you can come up with as many excuses as you want but Indian bowlers performance against this depleted Australian side will never be taken seriously.

The same Indian team which has won series in SA and Eng?

This Australian batting line up is rubbish, that's a fact. Every Australian will tell you this.

India lost SA & ENG lost series due to batting, here they perform hence the different result.. and don't say Aussie bowling are cr@ps too..

Mitchell Marsh is not good enough to be playing Test cricket. Shaun Marsh is out of form and Khawaja simply isn't the type of player who can step up and lead the batting, he doesn't have the character for it.

Their bowling is still top class, it's the batting that is weak.

Lol. Here comes another whiner.

That is also true...

Dammit, I will let you guys fight amongst yourselves and relax and enjoy this test. Difficult to choose a side.

I hope Pakistan can beat a ABDV less SSOuth Africa in the second test. Highly unlikely, but they came close in the first test.

getting thrashed 4-1 in England where a 7th ranked team drew the series TWICE, doesn't sound very dominating to be honest. Other than that, India is a very solid team with top class batsman, as I speak King Kohli has departed.

To add to that, he comes off like a player who would fold under that pressure.

Lol don't care brother, all we care is about is the series win, and incase we win the series (IA) then you can whine about how it took you more than 40 years compared to India to win a test series in Aus just like what happened in Windies.

Big wicket gone. Get 2 more here and game on...

To add to that, he comes off like a player who would fold under that pressure.

Yes, called believe how he pulled it off on day 5 pitch in UAE against our worlds best spinner- Yasir Shah. Must have been a fluke as he has been very average in this series against India.

Kohli finally gone. India will do well to reach 300 now. Only if Australia won the toss and batted first here!

This is why I dont like test cricket. Every time I watch there are no wickets, but when I try to take a break there is a wicket.

Punajar is playing faster than he normally does.. Is he vying for a spot in the ODI side?

Only if Australia won the toss and batted first here!
lol, so Aus batting is at its weakest and they would still have done better than India had they batted first here?

Amazing logic, found very rarely.

What happened to Cricinfo Insights? I can't seem to find it anymore. It was a very useful tool.

Such an important innings for Rahane's test career.

Have you forgotten how you lost in Perth 2 weeks back? Even this line up was able to defeat you after winning the toss.

Things like logic don't apply to people like aman and shandarchowka.

read my post again especially the toss part.

And your point being?

lol, as if Indian XI is littered with ATGs. They've had their shares of selection blunders and injuries. However one thing they are better than Australia at the moment is in not losing players due to cheating!

And I'm proud of that.

Did you forget how Pak got defeated after winning the toss ,last match against a team without ABD,Mornie and Philander?

Also lets not forget the difference between team selection, we played Umesh for no point in that test.
