Bangladesh (115/2) hammer Pakistan (114) by eight wickets in ODI series opener

Bangladesh generally win in Mirpur. It is like a fortress for BD.

Every single Test nation (including India and Australia) have lost at least 1 series in Mirpur.

=====================

England lost 0-3
NZ lost 0-4, 0-3, and 2-3
Australia lost 1-4
India lost 1-2 (twice)
Pakistan lost 1-2 and 0-3
SL lost 1-2 (twice)
South Africa lost 1-2
Afghans lost 1-2
West Indies lost series multiple times

Australia and England also lost Tests in Mirpur.
Bro nobody should care about Mirpur no offence. Worst pitches worst everything. We should ban Mirpur from hosting matches what terrible viewing. I would rather watch paint dry.

Tulla Agha and minnow Basher Farhan fans like @Dr_Bassim and @RedwoodOriginal will do bhangra over this innings and claim this is because of Rizwan and Babar. Nothing will change with our cricket with fans like this.
Your tullebaaz team humiliated by Bangladesh. .. rizwan scored a majestic knock of 10 runs in 20 balls.

This is your standard.....🤡🤣

:klopp :kp

You know you are part of the problem right?

Rizwan and Babar are very average, but and you may just find somebody better when you give others a chance.

The new guys may fail, but it is a experiment.
We know what RizBar are capable of, we know their ceiling.

Atleast change and experiment.

Today's pitch wasn't that bad, to be honest.

This is a good ODI pitch.

I didn't ask anyone to care. I was just responding to a user. :inti

Best cricket venues are England, South Africa, and Dubai of course. I personally enjoy cricket hosted in England.

Yes Babar with 20 ODI centuries is average but minnow Basher Farhan who minnow bashed in T20I with pathetic stats vs SENAI has made it to our ODI team. Rizwan needs to be moved down to 6, he has lost some confidence. Tulla Usman Khan and Azam Khan are replacements. Thanks but no thanks.

I think cricket in subcontinent, West Indies, and New Zealand feels boring.

Best venues for cricket --> England, South Africa, Dubai, and Australia.

England is the best. I always enjoy World Cups hosted in England.

Sad for Shaheen. First match as captain and they do this. Batsmen let him down.

Experimentation tours aren’t the answer. It worsens confidence and disrupts trying to find your maximum strength sides. Trying to copy stronger teams that already have strong settled batting line ups. We are in experimentation with our regular side still, no point trying to do this sort of experimentation too.

What Pakistan need to do is stop picking players so early. They aren’t ready and when you thrust them into internationals then they don’t develop. They scramble to stay in the side. Wait until there is a genuine spot available for them, they have dominated in domestic season for a few seasons and done well in PSL. I.e learnt all they can from domestic before they enter internationals. And then give them a long run when you actually give them a chance.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are good. India has very biased spectators and BD has no redeeming quality.

Babar was good 4 years ago.

You can't continue to justify his current form just because he was good once upon a time.

And anyways, building bench strength is always a good strategy.

Sri Lanka is boring as a venue. It rains a lot. Poor drainage system. Sleepy crowd.

Pakistani crowd is good. But, pitches are too flat. ROFL.

Anyway, I enjoy cricket in England, South Africa, and Dubai the most. :inti

These clowns doing bhangra over hundreds vs Namibia and selfish hundreds vs no name SL players are part of the reason why we are such a mid team now.

Shaheen Shah Afridi:
"Nahid Rana bowled really well for Bangladesh, but from our side we didn’t get the start we wanted. There are still two games left and we’re ready for them.

"When you lose, there are always many things you can point out, but this is a young team and I’ll back them till the end.

"We needed partnerships — in one‑day cricket, partnerships matter in both batting and bowling. Now our focus is on the next game."

The downfall of the Pak team has been astonishing. They seriously need some introspection here. Ban is the most useless tesm out there and will be hopeless for a long time.
And personally no complaints on the potch. Its the same for both teams. Using pitch as an excuse shows you are a weak team..

I just realized that Liton Das is not the captain and Mehdi Hasan is? When did this happen? Also looks like a selfish captain. Instead of giving the guy 10 overs who blew Pakistan away, bro is the only one who bowled 10 overs ...

Litton = T20 captain.
Miraz = ODI captain.
Shanto = Test captain.

Miraz bowled well --> 10-0-29-3.

My next focus how I Will get smashed in next 2 matches

The match discussion thread has been on fire, and after THAT performance, we all need somewhere to vent and break it down properly. 😅

Asad Bhatti and Ramis Shah are LIVE RIGHT NOW on the PakPassion YouTube channel reviewing that absolute disaster in Dhaka.

We’re talking about:
🔥 The 114 all out – our lowest ODI total against Bangladesh. What on earth happened?
🔥 Nahid Rana's dream debut – 5/24, raw pace, and a nightmare for our debutants.
🔥 Tanzid's onslaught – 67* off 42 balls to win it in 16 overs.
🔥 The four Pakistan debutants – Farhan, Maaz, Shamyl, Abdul Samad. How do we rate their first outing?
🔥 Where do we go from here in the series?

PCT is getting really disappointing, better come back in next 2 games , they need to compete atleast.

Don’t get your hopes up, this Pakistan team is fully capable of giving a performance symbolized by the brown stain on the pitch. And then you will see a 100 threads of bringing back xyz past it has been.
Kiya kaha tha…

Brown stain on the pitch is not present this series. :inti

Anyway, that brown pitch is probably the one on the left side. They are not using it.

not sure about this point...batsmen let you down and they chase in 12 overs what about the bowling. one guys is throwing thunderbolts at 150kph and we have trundlers..

Mike Hesson shared following thoughts in the post match presser today:

On Nahid Rana’s Impact

* "Nahid Rana was exceptional. We were ticking along okay until he came into the game and changed everything."
* "He bowled into the wicket and created variation and bounce, which he’s able to do when bowling at that pace."
* "He hit good areas, stayed aggressive, and used the bouncer well. He deserved his success; I thought he bowled brilliantly."

On the Batting Collapse
* "It was a very disappointing batting performance—there is no hiding from that."
* "It wasn't just the youngsters; we were exposed by some good bowling and then went into our shells. We have to turn things around quickly."
* "Every one of us needs to stand up and deliver a better performance with the bat. We are certainly looking to do that in the remaining games."

On the Development of Young Players
* "Young players have to learn, and you must give them the opportunity to grow. We would love for them to score a century on debut, but they have to navigate these tough challenges first."
* "We need to show some resilience over the next few days, come back, and fight hard in the next match."

On Mohammad Hasnain’s Performance

* "This was the first time I’ve seen him bowl live. He looked good even in the warm-ups, with his timing and rhythm appearing spot on."
* "He hits the surface hard and uses both the seam and cross-seam effectively. He looks like a very promising bowler."
* "Taking six wickets in an ODI is a special effort. He deserves all the recognition he’s getting."

On Defending a Low Total

* "When you are defending a total that is well below par, you tend to go searching for wickets even when you're trying to stay disciplined. There’s no doubt we went searching with the ball today."
* "We weren't able to execute as many deliveries as we wanted, and the opposition was able to play with a lot of freedom because of the low chase."

Didn't watch the match, only commenting based on the scorecard but if a guy is blowing the opposition away, why would you not let him bowl out 10 overs.

Miraz's bowling figures probably looks good because of the damage rana caused.

Those kind of pitches reward mediocre batting line ups. lol That is their ceiling.

As I have written before, this was not a 110 pitch.

BD scored 115 within 16 overs on the same pitch. :inti

This was more like a 260-280 pitch. A very good ODI pitch. Not a trashy 400 pitch like Mumbai.

Lol! Ind is hands on favorite now to win the 27 odi WC 😂

I don't think India are favorites for ODI WC or WTC. Not in the next 50 years. :inti

India haven't won it since 2011. They have mostly won Mickey Mouse Events and Dalmiya events like World T20s and CTs. :dav

Only solution I can see is 40 over ODI WC and bilateral ODI series’s only one year before the WC

Not 40 overs. That would be catastrophic.

50 overs is fine. I say they should make it 60 overs. It used to be 60 overs before 1996. :inti

Rana is a super fast bowler who bowled 6 overs at a stretch. He needed at least 10-15 overs break before bowling again and by then Pak innings was over.

He is not a spin bowler to bowl 10 overs at a stretch

Sorry, he bowled 7 overs at a stretch from overs 10 till overs 22.

Then pakistan got all out in 30 overs, just 8 overs later. You want the kid bowling 145+ to get injured?
