3rd batsman gone . Pathetic cricket by both mediocre team on pathetic pitch. :kp
 
Batting first theres a pressure to score runs on this pitch which is otherwise difficult to score on, thats why bangladesh cracked and same happened with pakistan last match

He may not score much here because of challenging pitch. It can dent his confidence and can get him dropped for future games.

If I were Farhan, I wouldn't want to bat here. LOL. I would wait for flat pitches.
 
BD - 29/4 (6 overs).

BD is playing too many risky shots. This is not that type of ground.

Need to take it deep. 120-130 can give bowlers something to defend.

Yeah. It is same as Zakir.

Just a different spelling.

For example, in Pakistan, Rehman is a common last name. It is Rahman in Bangladesh.

Not getting a chance is certainly worse than playing on a bad wicket. And how can he get dropped from future games when he is not being picked at all haha

Point is you are playing out of form players at the cost of a player who is in the form of his life. Form often trumps conditions/opposition and should be one of the first considerations when picking a playing XI.

When I was living in Bangladesh (before 2006), I used to eat chaat and other snacks just outside this Mirpur stadium. It was under construction at that time.

My house was 10-15 minutes away from this stadium. I once played a tape ball match right outside this stadium. I think I scored 1 run. I was run-out. :inti
 

BCB re-imposes ban on outside food in stadium for 'security concerns'​


After just one match, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has again re-issued a ban on bringing food and beverages into the venue for the second and third T20I between Bangladesh and Pakistan set to take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on July 22 and 24, respectively.

"This is to notify all spectators intending to attend the 2nd and 3rd T20 matches between Bangladesh and Pakistan on July 22 and 24 that, due to enhanced security protocols, no outside food or beverages will be allowed inside the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium," The BCB said in a press release.

In the first T20I, which took place on Sunday, the BCB had allowed fans to bring outside food and beverages in response to recurring complaints about in-stadium food vendors charging inflated prices.

The decision to allow outside food and beverages for the first game was appreciated by fans, as many brought bottled water and snacks with them to enjoy the game.

But after one game, BCB is going back on this initiative owing to security concerns and because of some overindulgences from fans.

"This decision caused a lot of chaos yesterday. The security forces have advised us to re-impose this ban," BCB's media committee chairman Iftekhar Rahman Mithu told The Daily Star.

"We had lifted the ban with good intentions. But yesterday, people bought food in food carriers. The security personnel complained and said they can't stick their fingers inside lentil dishes to check for harmful substance," he added.


"We had said that spectators would have to remove the caps of water bottles before entering the venue. But people brought multiple bottles of water, some brought steel bottles, not plastic ones. A lady who had brought four bottles refused to open the caps of all of them before entry. There were many such incidents yesterday."

Salman Mirza / Ahmed Daniyal type players do not deserve to be playing for Pakistan at this point in time. They have done absolutely nothing in domestic cricket to deserve a Pakistani cap.

This is why Pakistan's test team is an absolute joke. If Salman Mirza does well here, he will be considered for Test selection without him done nothing of note in red ball.

Even with the flawed domestic system in the 90s, there was still a semblance of structure where every season players were guaranteed a long hard grind of good red ball cricket and selection for the Pakistani team was based on a good 5 years of performance. Nowadays, the PCB has destroyed that structure too. 1 viral video clip is enough to get a Pakistani cap.

I have nothing against Mirza or Daniyal but this is not only a disservice to Pakistani cricket but also to them as well. They will be two more in a long line of players sacrificed after a couple of failures.
 
These are honestly really bad cricket pitches in general.

Most international teams would struggle here, as modern day batters does not have the patience to survive on such grafting wickets.

That is correct.

SENA countries generally struggle here.

England lost 0-3
Australia lost 1-4
NZ lost 2-3

Only South Africa won 2-1 here.

You have bouncy wickets and you have slow pitches, professional players should be able to adabt. Low scoring matches can also be entertaining.

Chachu spinners X3

They haven't been selected because of their t20 performances.
 
Just do not understand the value of Khushdil Shah in t20 team. After 30 plus games this guy has nothing to show for except that he bashes bowler in PSL and BPL.. Dismal Batting record in int Games and Bowling stats not even worth the mention

I dont think so many all rounders is a good option for Pakistan ( if we include Saim as AR). I understand it is good to see how players perform but I hope its not the long term plan:

Khush
Nawaz

all pretty much doing the same role, need to drop Nawaz next match.
 
Mahedi batted well today. He is pretty much a bowler who can bat a bit. Someone like Axar Patel.

This is why you know the powerplay and to utilise it is vital

Chawwals will argue that it’s ok to be 25-0 in the powerplay here

Jaker Ali is from 2016 U-19 batch.

He did very well when BD toured West Indies a few months ago.
