What's new

Bangladesh tour of New Zealand (2022)

Another wicket.

Ebadot gets his 4th wicket.

New Zealand are effectively at 6/5 now.

Losing to Bangladesh would be shameful and would end any hope of retaining the mace.

Well done to Bangladesh for their performance.

As for our players, they've been pathetic this match and clearly gone in with the mindset that they can rock up and hammer Bangladesh.

Zero discipline with the bat and so many soft dismissals.

Bangladesh is winning this match , I think this is going to
Bangladesh greatest achievement in cricket

Being a Bangladeshi fan means knowing that a tail ender could score 200 against us.

Taylor is standing between Bangladesh win ,need to get rid of him as soon as .

Get Taylor out and Bangladesh have a good chance of winning.

Taylor is the key wicket.

NZ was most lucky team in last WTC cycle .play most of match at home and then Australia lose some point due to slow over rate and cancellation of Southafrica tour dent their chance to reach in final .again NZ were lucky as they played a series in England before The final .

Enough time left for Bangladesh to win this test but don't give them any lose ball .

Exactly!!! Both Australia and India are far better team than overhype NZ.

Get three more wickets in next session before lead is level than Bangladesh can win this game .140/5 I want NZ score at stumps . Then take 3-4 wickets in 1st session on day 5 , maximum target can NZ set for Bangladesh is around 100 which is easy to chase . come on Bangladesh you can do this :najam

Lol at Kiwis on verge of losing a home test to Bangladesh.

It seems only Taylor was playing with some intent here as it is his last series. NZ must be shamed for this performance in Taylor's last test series.

Backing Bangladesh though to win this one. This is the golden chance of an overseas win in SENA. Have they won any test in SENA before?

It is not shameful to lose to the opposition if they play good cricket. BD has played well so far. If only they had taken catches then the game would have been over. BD still needs to take 5 wickets and score runs.

Instead of mace, NZ should set a goal to win tests in Aus, India, and SA if not series.

I don't think they have even drawn any test in SENA. Someone can correct me. Anyway, plenty of play left here. BD victory is not given.

No man!!! Kohli's India will beat this NZ by innings without putting to much effort.

Didn't Kohli's team tour NZ recently? If and when they win in NZ then we will see.

What an inspirational performance from BD so far. A win here will give them plenty of confidence to build upon for future.

Crucial late-order runs and the work of Bangladesh's fast bowlers have put the tourists in front on day four at the Bay Oval.

New Zealand finished the day at 147/5, taking a lead of 17 into tomorrow.

Resuming at 401/6, Yasir Ali and Mehidy Hasan Miraz built on their partnership, adding an extra 44 runs before Tim Southee broke the partnership with the third new ball. Frustrating the home side with vital runs and moving the lead past 100, Miraz attempting to continue the assault could only muster an outside edge off Tim Southee, handing Tom Blundell a catch on 47.

It brought Taskin Ahmed out to bat for the tourists, and New Zealand, despite the flurry of runs in the previous partnership, were clinical in removing the tail. Yasir Ali was caught down the leg-side off the bowling of Kyle Jamieson for 26, before Taskin (5) and Shoriful Islam were claimed in quick succession. Taskin was adjudged lbw for Southee's second, before Shoriful was clean bowled for Trent Boult as the left-armer's fourth wicket.

130 runs behind, Young and Tom Latham survived a three-over siege from Bangladesh's attack, though Latham was brought undone early in the second session by Taskin, who continued with ferocity after the break. Latham played Taskin's delivery on for 14, bringing Devon Conway out to the wicket.

Conway was bogged down by a disciplined bowling effort, and was eventually undone by the pace of Ebadot Hossain, thanks to a clever piece of fielding from Shadman Islam diving forward at first slip.

Young ticked over fifty for the second time in the match running a ball to third man, also combining in a fifty-run partnership with Ross Taylor in his final Test innings at the Bay Oval.

Taylor and Young brought up the milestone before the final drinks break, though Ebadot would not be stopped in his inspired performance.

The quick cleaned up Young for 69 and Henry Nicholls (0) in the same over, before sparking fear in New Zealand with the wicket of Tom Blundell, who also departed without scoring.

New Zealand ended the day on 147/5, with their lead standing at only 17, setting. up a riveting final day of contest at the Bay Oval.

This is an excellent performance. Well done to them. Hope they get the last five and restrict the chase to less than 150

This is an incredible performance putting Pakistan to shame ...

Not really. We took a completely dud team with rookie teenagers as bowlers. Otherwise our record in NZ is not bad at all.

No need to slash your wrists, just admire the good Bangladeshi performance ce.

NZ has too many useless passengers like

Blundell/Nicholls when he doesn't get dropped 3-4 times a innings

and the bowlers Boult/Southee/Wagner are on their last legs

BD have been dominant for last 3 days, they cant however afford 1 bad session or day tomorrow as that could ruin their chances of an upset.

Everyone is requested to collect humble pies from bujhee kom bhai. Please wait for your turn patiently as he cooks them hot and ready to serve:yk

Good to see Bangladesh providing a contest for a change. Although you wouldn't blame me for the prediction based on Pakistan series and WC performances.

Loads of credit to Bangladesh for how they have fought NZ in their den till now. Hopefully they can win the game. Always good to see underdogs doing well.

As few Bangladeshi posters have said here, please be cautious about getting excited about a Bangladeshi win here. Bangladesh may make things terribly wrong here tomorrow and even loose. If NZ can give a target of 150 here BD can make e mess of the chase

I'd also be nervous if I was a Bangladesh fan. Whilst they are in the box seat you wouldn't fancy them to chase anything over 120 given some of the games they have let slip in recent times.

Bangladesh opening batsman Mahmudul Hasan Joy has been ruled out from the ongoing Test match Test due to injury.

The right hand batsman was injured while fielding practice on Tuesday and three stitches were given to his finger later.

Bangladesh team physio Bayezid Ul Islam Khan confirmed this though a video message and also informed that the opener will have to undergo observation for at least seven to ten days which means he is uncertain for the second Test too.

NZ sitting on 17/5 at the moment.

Surely anything under 150 to win should be ok for Bangladesh.

The biggest problem Bangladesh has is that Taylor is still around and if he breaks loose then anything is possible.

This may be the start of something very, very special.

I hope you are right. Bangladesh spends a lot of money on cricket and it is about time these guys start delivering.

What I liked about this current bunch was the fact they seemed quite humble and hard working. No arrogance like you see from likes of Shakib.

I think that humility and hard work should be the way to go. I personally want all veterans (Shakib, Mushfiq etc.) gone and build a new team with youngsters (Joy, Shanto etc.).

Taylor gone - that should be game, set and match.

Bangladesh commentators and many fans will become insufferable if they win this test. not that they dont deserve it. but knowing past history it will be like they have won world war 3.

I predicted in my previous posts that BD had a chance to win this test. Many people were not convinced.Let us see how BD fans and Athar Ali Khan take this victory.I hope they don’t start calling BD the best team in test cricket.BD has won only 4 tests out 58 played abroad. This will be their 5th victory abroad. They won 2 tests against WI and one each against SL and Zim previously.

Lmao,.how are NZ losing to this BD team :)))

This is like when Natarajan and co. beat Australia in Australia.

Superb bowling by Bangladesh.

NZ comms shellshocked.
