NZ's second string spinners as ordinary as our paceman.

Vettori and Nathan are better bowlers

If both these batsman can bat this session out then we can surely save this game.

The weather for the last 3 days is not bad

Does not look like a threatening bowler. Needs to work a lot harder, will be great to see if he becomes the next warne

Vettori is injured. Nathan is not a good spinner in the longer forms.

I don't really rate Martin but hes hard to get away when he settles in and Sodhi was picked purely on talent rather than form.

Boult looked dangerous but i guess hes worn out from batting half the day. Plenty of swing for him.

The reason why Nathan would not be too bad in our conditions is because he would frustate the batsman, and dont forget he can bat well. Surely, if hacks like boult and bracewell can score 50s Nathan could and should score a century.

Playing martin was the wrong decision. Bangladesh play SLA better than most teams because we have so many Lefites in the domestics. Add to that we have plenty of Left handed batsman. An offie would have been much more useful against us.

Now imagine how it is for our batsman to come into bat after fielding for such long in these conditions.

And people wonder why the SC has not been the best factory to produce world class test bowler. I still remember that thread where the Asia XI looked nothing infront of World XI

Bring on your pacers. We cant play pace at all on pitches where the ball skids, and has uneven bounce.

Spinners dont really bother us

All around the world, neutrals always support underdogs in sports, except for cricket matches involving Bdesh. Most neutral cricket fans want Bdesh to loose terribly and be stripped of the test status, and this is their own doing. Its been 13 years, and nothing is changing.

Well you have a point, but I dont think stripping of a team from test status will do any justice to the sport.

If we lose test status, only few teams will be willing to tour us because they give importance to a test series. Bangladesh have done exceedingly well in the shorter formats in the past, and it would be unfair if we play even fewer LOIs as a result.

It would be best for an introduction of a tier system. Where we mostly play Ireland, afghanistan, and also at times with NZ, WI, SL, Pak. And against the big 4 we should atleast 1 series per year with only 2 test matches. Thats the only way to go forward but ICC does not care as long as India is filling up their pockets and getting to play as much cricket as possible with India.

Our performance in test matches has been quite poor I wont doubt that. But its good to see that we are playing some positive cricket and thats 1 way we have improved over the years.

200-1, 5 years back we would have allowed Kiwis to score 700. We restricted them to 469 which is still a mamoth score and should have been much fewer had Rubel bowled a legimate delivery to BJ, and boult was given out to an LBW appeal where he was caught plumb. The score was 360-9 at that point.

6-2, to 73-2. 5 years back it would have been quite an ask for our batsman

dominic: "Williamson - yet to bowl but already looking like NZ's best spinner"

Baz should bring him on. The guy is a good spinner, better than the specialists

Nathan would be a decent bat but he doesn't really turn the ball.

We have Williamson still. Hes a very handy off spinner who can turn it big.

Yes very handy offie.

The man with a golden arm, and already he is looking better than sodhi who has bowled everything starting from long hops to full tosses but dont want to be too critical because this is his first test match

Not sure, 1-2 random victories every year here and there, catching bigger teams unaware in those games and really that's about it. They haven't done anything significant in any cricket, which is a shame for they get more opportunities than other nations like Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ireland, and now Afghanistan. Heck, even Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan in a test match, which to me is more significant than anything Bdesh has done in the last 12 years.

Sodhi has played about one season of professional cricket so im not expecting wonders from him yet. Hes been picked on talent because we are playing Bangladesh. Also leggies need time to develop.

Hes looked pretty for 4 or 5 balls of each over. Needs to eliminate the bad balls.

We also have Todd Astle another leg spinner who can bat but they've left him out.

Personally i would of kept Dean Brownlie in the team instead of Anderson and had another seamer instead of Martin. Williamson is good enough to be the 2nd spinner/5th bowler.

Good counter attack by Bangladesh but NZ still on top. Boult will be fresh tomorrow so the left handed batsman will be trouble.

Bangladesh in a good position to draw the test. the good thing for us is that our best 4 test batsman are are still there. dissappointibg stuff from taking and anamul

Well a little more than a fifth of the total has been matched with 2 wickets down. 3 of our big 4 batters remain to come, but it will be crucial to see how far the current pair can go. Even after a wicket falls, it will imperative the other one goes onto to score some more.

no one seems to be too interested in this match. It has been a good contest between bat and ball.

This match isnt even on air in most countries thus further reducing the interest.

I want to see Mominul's batting but there is no telecast.

This is pathetic batting by Bangladesh. Relying heavily on a little man, the four batsmen needs to be whipped

Everyone got out to horrible shot, Marshall got out to possibly the worst delivery ever, that was so wide. Pathetic stuff

Someone else needs to score a century or else Mominul will be stranded, Mominul is on the verge of breaking Lara's record

Mominul 150* just saw the scorecard good to see Bangladesh doing well they need some draws to built their confidence in the longer format

Mominul is the 4th batsmen from Bangladesh to score 150+ in a Test Innings. Sir Ashraful is the only batsman from Bangladesh who crossed 150 twice.

Let's see if Mominul can become the second batsman from Bangladesh to score a double Hundred.

Also NZ are getting some tough players in their test side as well Rutherford Watling Williamson Rosco n the flashing Baz

if Bangladesh avoids f/o which they will then its likely to be a draw which is not bad for the Tigers

Mominul is batting at 152 now while team score is 213 which means he scored 71% of the team runs!

We should have got NZ allout for 350.

And that's why Bangladesh will continue to struggle if bowling is not sorted otherwise they could've been a pretty decent team.

Good to see batting is improving though.

Excluding Misbah and Younis Khan, I think Bangladesh batsman are better than Pakistan just my opinion.

Good batting youngsters like Anamul, Mominul and Nasir. Then again, Tamim, Shakib, Rahim etc are still young themselves.

What a yawn fest..

Flat tracks need to go.

To be fair although you're right its good for batting still. New Zealand pacers were able to get some movement of the ball including reverse swing from the older ball and there has been some turn as well. Winning toss was crucial because it was so good for batting. Match has been pretty decent so far.
