I agree, while Taufeeq has the ability score, he never hits an level of consistency. An example would be his 236 against Sri Lanka, after that he never scored big again. Our batsmen only hit form for just ONE innings, while batsmen like Hussey or Dravid whom when in form, score consistently! Key area of Pakistan batting that needs to be assessed.

Taufeeq has scored 2 test hundreds this year, more than anyone else. He averages virtually 40 as an opener after a good number of games. I wouldn't call that 'crap'.

Yes, Shadadat grunts and doesn't bowl express for international standards, but grunting is just something that some bowlers do and some don't. It's not something you can control. Bowlers in county/club cricket grunt and only bowl at 65-70mph.

As for being a loser, well for one he has a 5fer at lords. Not everyone can claim to be on that honours board.

I'm not going to defend Shahadat as a good international bowler, because he's not really. I just thought you were being too harsh on him.

As for Taufeeq, he is still working on his game against spin. He will be tested in this series against 'decent' spin. As long as he doesn't fail, he should definitely play against England. He has been a bit inconsistent but I don't think we have a better option for the England series at the moment.
