If BDesh loses against IND then they will be de motivated and will be up there for the taking, I still can see why Pak can not win big against them and go past NZ!

Amir in English conditions will be a huge difference. If BD negotiates Amir better then they are in business for sure.
I think if you go to the NRR thread the calculations are there for you to see its literally impossible for us to qualify through NRR. We really need NZ to win to have a chance.
But one thing I find funny is how you wrote a long post a week or so ago about NZ being ovverated now your backing them to beat England.
I am perfectly aware of the NRR calculations, but nothing is impossible. Still, I know it's pretty tough for us to go through if England wins tomorrow, especially if by a small margin.
Regrading New Zealand cricket team being overrated, I wrote that post when they were unbeaten and people were saying this and that about them and that Pakistan will be thrashed by New Zealand, having no chance of victory against them, their performance since then shows how correct I was about them back then.
I didn't say England is not overrated too, when a team like Sri Lanka can beat them, how and why a better team in New Zealand can't do the same?
It will be an exciting match between 2 teams who fail under pressure, with England feeling it more due to several reasons.
Assuming Eng wins against NZ with a good margin, by what margin should Pak def Desh to reach semis ?
actually even if Eng wins by say 50 runs and then BD bats first it will be mathematically impossible as Pak will mostly have to chase whatever target BD sets within less than zero overs![]()

It is literally impossible for us to get through by NRR according to the figures on the NRR thread as I said. Please just be realistic rather than positive.
Only trolls on here were saying that they would thrash us. No serious person was.
Lol they still have those weaknesses and have players out of form whilst England have momentum after beating India.
New Zealand struggled against West Indies and Bangladesh so don't act as though they haven't struggled against weaker teams.
I think England will win. It's a small ground . Expecting a flat pitch . Which suits England.
It's not impossible, that is what I just said, it's tough but anything can happen with God's will. Do you want me to say a lie and accept that it is impossible?
Why are you telling me that? I pointed out those weaknesses and know that they can't overcome them in 1 week. New Zealand struggled against weak teams due to that but still managed to get over the line, whereas England lost.
England have momentum of just 1 win, they might start ahead of New Zealand in terms of winning chance for that match, but we have seen plenty of teams winning that weren't supposed to.
It is impossible especially it NZ lose by a close margin. Abdullah719 showed me a calculations where if we are chasing even if we got it in 1 ball we are still out.
Well New Zealand have lost their last 2 so they are not in good form and a lot of their players are out of form as well.
Feeling nervous about our game with BD considering how they are playing against Ind. Remaining cool and calm while chasing a big score. There is a distinct possibility that NZ might beat Eng but we may struggle to overcome BD.
You are just pointing out scenarios in which it's near to impossible, also that calculation he did was wrong although he was close.
Still, is it written somewhere that New Zealand will lose by a small margin or we will have to bowl first?
New Zealand are what they are, only Martin Guptill has performed below par, Tom Latham and Colin Munro aren't good anyway. Rest of them have performed close to their level.
Well I asked him and that was his response. I don't want to rely on NRR as the calculation seem unlikely.
No it is not written but I am just making a possibility that could happen.
Latham is a good player but he is seriously out of form and his replacement is not experienced. Nichols doesn't have much game time.
Unlikely, but possible on NRR.
Similarly, I am pointing out the possibility that New Zealand can lose by a big margin and we can bat first and post a big total.
I don't consider Latham as a good player in LOIs, you can have your opinion.

It's better if NZ win rather than rely on NRR.
Latham is a decent ODI player. Tests is his strongest format. He is out of form right now. Don't see NZ dropping him in this tournament.
1. If New Zealand beats England then Pakistan plays cautious cricket to beat Bangladesh and goes to semis.
2. If England beats New Zealand with a small margin then the Pakistan vs Bangladesh match becomes dead-rubber.
3. If England beats New Zealand by a huge margin then Pakistan goes all out and plays Asif over Imam to try winning the Bangladesh game by a big margin.
Wonder if now the Bangladesh bros are out - could they let us win by a massive margin so we can all take revenge on India for throwing the game vs England and ruining the tournament for us south Asian brothers?
If England wins today and over 150-200 runs. Pakistan should go all guns and blazzing.
Get Husnain and Asif Ali IN. Win the toss, bat first and aim to hit the 500 mark.

500? This is not Bermuda you are playing against bro. They are not going to let Pak just waltz in and score 500 just like that especially when even India's strong batting line up could not get 350 yesterday. And Pakistan are a much inferior team to India .

Play this team if you want to try making 400. Need as much firepower in there. Even if it seems extremely unlikely, I would not go down without a fight.

We've got nothing to lose. Might as well try aiming for the sun and go all out!
Do people remeber my thread about using asif ali as an opener with fakhar!
Everyone ridicule me!
Everyone wanted imam as opener.
Imam this wc averages 26 with a strike rate of 67!
This is one of the reasons we are in this mess!
Pretty sure asif could have score 26 runs in 26 or less deliveries, and not 40 odd like imam!
Now everyone wants asif to open the batting against bangladesh, lol!
Fakhar has been burden with scoring fast to make up for imams strike rate! That's because you already had Asif Ali 2.0 as an opener - Fakhar Zaman. What's his average anyway?
I wouldn't care if fakhar and asif both got out in the first 10 overs as long as they scored 80 odd runs in those first 10 overs!Fakhar has been burden with scoring fast to make up for imams strike rate!
Give fakhar a partner who can carry his own weight, then see the results!
I thought about this, but he will probably lose us the match, judging from his performances in this wc!Get Shoaib Malik in to blast the spinners. Bangladesh is predominantly spin oriented

As per media Pak likely to play Malik, Fakhar will be out and Hafeez will open. Bad news is Hasan Ali will replace Wahab who is still sore. Why can they not give Husnain a game - he is more likely to take a wicket and will at worst give away same runs as Hasan Ali.

Imagine Pakistan somehow get in to the top 4 lol
What a mockery that will be for cricket...
