I hope, now people won't mind to go back a year, when I wrote many times that PAK needs a bowling Captain, at least someone makes the team on merit and isn't burdened to deliver with bat - hence the name of Amir came, no personal love here - I am not his agent or brother in law. They made the worst choice - an over weight WK at wrong age, who was struggling in his core job, and not good enough with bat to make it as specialist batsman.
Malik's name came because PCB hasn't appointed any official deputy - all of a sudden if you make Babar or Amir or Hasan or FZ Captain, result might be devastating. Malik at least is certified senior, accepted and knows what he is doing. Besides, he is among the fittest (if YoYo score disagrees with me, then better burn that rubbish), and playing well.
Who else? Babar is only decent batsman left in the team, FZ needs to sort his game first, now Amir is not the same a year back, Hasan is even worse, Shadab is too raw, Asif might lose his spot next series, Imad might not make the team before WC, Haris can't manage own fitness let alone team ......... left is Imam, Nawaz or bring back ............. Salman Butt!!!!
It was one of the stupidest decision to make Sarfraz Captain for 3 formats at this age - he should have been Captain in 2015, or at most LO Captain after Azhar - still won't have lasted till 2019 on merit.
