Pakistan vs Bangladesh | 2nd Test | Rawalpindi | August 30 - September 03 | Pre-Match Discussion

Listen son you stick to learning about averages. That will help you to understand that an average of zero isn't good.
Averages: a number expressing the central or typical value in a set of data, in particular the mode, median, or (most commonly) the mean, which is calculated by dividing the sum of the values in the set by their number.
"the proportion of over-60s is above the EU average of 19 per cent

Constituing the result obtained by adding together several amounts and then dividing this total by the number of amounts.

The term average originated in the 15th century commonly belivered to derive from Italian and Arabic decent. First coined as a derivative of the word damaged good.

Ex: Babar scored 150 against Nepal and 0 against Australia. So his average will be = total number of runs scores/total no of innings played = 150/2 = 75

Hope Kamran comes in for this test. Think it's the perfect time for him to come in, we don't have a single performing batsman in the top 4 right now. That has to change. Already overdue, he's not exactly young. Should have really called this guy up and played him as soon as he broke that record in domestic.

I'd rather drop Saim, promote Shan (because he has to play because he's captain) and play him at 3. But even if we drop Agha Salman or Abdullah to get Kamran in, I'd take that too. But would rather drop the opener, because we just need someone performing in the top 4.

Same with Abrar, we need to groom a new spinner in tests to take over Yasir Shah and Ajmal. We are not going to ever be good in asia without a good spinner. It's already been too long. So we need to keep playing a spinner consistently and let him develop.

I’ll say it again. I know nothing. How could I be lying if I firmly believe I know nothing?
Us overseas pakistan usually don't know much about the country and it's affairs.

90% of the time my parents are bickering about it. But genuinely, who even follows something like that?

I just Netflix and chill if no sports game is on XD.

So you are angry at him because of his political views and releasing it while having cricket discussion, :facepalm
His political and cricketing opinions suck. Yesterday he blamed Riz for the loss of the test. But ran when I asked why Shaan is captain when he averages 30 after 10 years of playing for PK. He wanted the mafia in power in cricket and celebrated when Sethi came in with his Zoom/ what app coach and he told us he supports Amreeka against my PK. He supports Naqvi a guy so bent that hus mother wouldn't even vouch for him.

I am not well versed in political matters. But @Rana comes across as one of the most astute cricketing minds on this forum. I disagree with his viewpoint on blaming Rizwan for the first test loss. However, he generally tends to be correct. I used to make fun of him when he criticized the Babar-Rizwan duo 2-3 years ago, but he was ultimately proven right in the end.

If he comes across like that to you, then what can I say about you and your cricketing knowledge. If you think our crisis would be solved by the likes of Sharjeel, UA and AA then I am not sure what I can say to change your mind.

Mate I didn’t even blame Rizwan for the loss. I just have a habit of terrorising those who turned extreme against me when I was doing my best to tell them they are celebrating the wrong kind of cricket in 2020-2023

Bewal’s issue with me began when I called out the unnecessary hostility and aggression PTI supporters have towards their opposition. He thinks it’s their birthright to be rude, abusive and physically aggressive towards their political opponents and their supporters. I don’t support this at all, never will.

Of course Rizwan isn’t to blame for this loss.

Peak UA and peak Sharjeel were excellent white ball players. Asif Ali was one of the main reasons why Pakistan reached 2021 SF. @Rana Wants Pakistan batters to play with the approach suited for the T20s. The cricket has changed now.

Zaheer Abbas was brilliant in his day but ....

Just letting you know, before you, their was another guy named 160kph who also kept telling me bad stuff about @Rana Basically claiming he said disturbing things.

I asked him what they were and he refused to tell me. Ultimately I found out he refused to tell me because he simply had nothing to say.

I don't get why you guys get personal and bring this stuff into this? Even now, look at your comments and look at mine. Their isnt a single comment that doesn't involve you putting yourself on a high horse while insulting others.

No offence and I don't know how else to put it, but you're the very definition of a Narcissistic Hypocrite.

Even if your claims about him are true, you're no better when you impose yourself on a higher pedestal and self proclaim yourself. Or Did you forget your own alt account conspiracy theories?

Khurram and Ali for Hamza and Abrar I reckon. Both Khurram and Ali didn't do much wrong but Hamza had been unfairly excluded and we need a specialist spinner somewhere
I did consider swapping Agha for Abrar instead but I think it leaves the batting too light, plus there's no real advantage to 4 pacers on dead wickets

But if the pitch is slow like Rawalpindi is you need gas to elimiante the pitch out of the equation. Well in excess of 145kph. I don't think Pakistan has anyone who can consistently hit that speed. As a matter of fact don'tt hink anyone crossed that 90 mph.

GVq5diOXoAAr_g1.jpg

We need a Nortje. He can bowl consistently at 145k in his spells. This is why our pace bowling is toothless.

In an interview with The Daily Star, Adams emphasized the importance of patience in Test cricket in Pakistan, noting uncertainty about the pitch conditions for the upcoming match, he said:

“I don't know what sort of wicket we will get for the second Test. I don't know how much the plan will change. This is a country where you have to be patient in Test matches. I don't see the plans changing too much from the blueprint of the previous game. The plans could change if they (Pakistan) change their playing XI,”

“I can't share the plan (laughs). Obviously, Babar is a great player and you have to be clear about what you want to do to get him out early. You have to pay attention to guys like Babar and (Mohammad) Rizwan, who can take the game away from you,”

None of these guys developed into excelllent white ball players. They just had the talent/hype too. Asif I liked but far too inconsistent, it was too tough to carry around a guy who performed that rarely, and he got a lot of chances. Umar did well for a year or two at the start and then pretty average/below average after. Sharjeel had was just starting to adapt to international cricket and had a brilliant series in Australia before getting himself banned for fixing. Just when this guy was about to really go off an have a good career he got banned. Can you really call these peaks?

It just never materialised for these guys in international cricket. It’s just talent. Sharjeel probably had the best chance, but he was also the guy who basically ended his career himself too. I don’t think we can call them great players at their peak. What they are are unfulfilled talent. That’s it. And it’s a shame that less talented guys with better work ethic have had much better careers than these guys (at least in umar and sharjeel’s case. Asif ali probably did his best.)

Bangladesh's pace bowling coach Andre Adams speaking during an interview:

Rawalpindi, 28 August 2024: Abrar Ahmed and Kamran Ghulam have joined the Pakistan Test squad ahead of the second Test match against Bangladesh, scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from 30 August to 3 September.

Both players were released from the Test squad before the start of the first Test match and featured for Pakistan Shaheens in a four-day game against Bangladesh ‘A’ at the Islamabad Club from 20 to 23 August.

Also, Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was released from the squad at the conclusion of the first Test, has rejoined the squad on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, Aamir Jamal, who had been released from the squad to work on his fitness at the NCA, has been recalled. Aamir’s participation in the second Test will remain subject to fitness clearance.

Pakistan squad for second Test against Bangladesh:

Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamir Jamal (subject to fitness), Abrar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper) and Shaheen Shah Afridi

So trouble-makers like Babar & Shaheen still stay to cost us another match. We deserve to loose this test by an innings.

Babar and Shaheen are undroppable regardless performances.
I would like Babar dropped for this match because he needs a kick . However, the issue is the knock on effect on the England series. If you drop Babar for the one match and the new guy comes in, he needs a proper run, otherwise you start to play musical chairs. And if you go into the England series with a middle order without Babar, mentally you are on downer. How would England prefer to bowl to?

Don't think Naqvi has power to drop these mafia players. Otherwise he may loose his job and missed out big salary,

Babar is a serial failure for last 2-3 years in ICC tournaments plus even Shan playing better than Babar. Ideally both need to be dropped.
Shan playing better than Babar???? WHEN DID THIS HAPPENED?

You should see shan stats since his debut and you will understand what mediocrity is.

Babar and Shaeen are undropable and Shaan is untouchable, that's the way system works in Pakistan where people like Navi are running PCB.
Exactly!!!! PCB itself is responsible for this mess. We need Ijaz Butt type admin and Hature type coach to break these players' power.

Why are you excluding the Warrior Rizwan?

Rizwan needs to be given a final warning if he is involved in any grouping. But highly unlikely. Naqvi is there for honey.
Needs to be told to play for his team and we don’t need any of his views on what’s best for him

Lol, you screamed at me and called me crazy for suggesting to kick Babar and here you are suggesting a kick.

I don't care what you say. I say what is right, not what my fan like to hear. You know who I mean. The difference is we love PK in the good and bad times. We don't support Amreeka or love the mafia above our team

Why don't we drop Shan for worst performance throughout his career???
Shan is worse the Babar by miles, To top it off he argues and fights with everyone left and right? Like who does he think he is?

Even goat players like David Warner and Ricky Pointing have gotten warnings from their own board for their past behaviour? In the case of Warner the dude got banned for a year?

Shan did this in the PSL with shadab and then with umpires and continued to do it for 4 days in a row?

This is hilarious, Shan hasn't even gotten one warning? Whike Warner recieved several and got banned and was forced to return as a saint same with pointing who had to IPL to soother him down? But atleast Warner and Pointing are goat players?

Shan on the other hand, I seriously cannot think of a worst opener for pakistan in test cricket. Maybe imran butt?

But all the medicore crap in any format ranging from shehzad to imran farhat to nasir jamshed and other crap lots and even they have more achievements then Shan does.

Like seriously, how does nasir jamshed of all people have better things to show for himself then Shan?

I don't care what you say. I say what is right, not what my fan boys like to hear. You know who I mean. The difference is we love PK in the good and bad times. We don't support Amreeka or love the mafia above our team
You don't even know me though? I came here during the NZ vs Pak series last year and since then I made it vocally clear that Australia is my favourite team and I support them through thick and thin.

But even then I don't fanboy over them to the point of desperation.

Cricket is a sport to watch, where anyone can make suggestions and support anyone. 90% of the people who watch football aren't from portugal but they support ronaldo through thick and then and as a result support portugal or any team he's on be it Al nasser or Real Madrid?

Why are you taking it as supporting another team or being critical of another even if its your own nation as if it's some sort of Jihad or war for the country?

I like the indian and English team too? So I'm a suddenly against the people of Pakistan for supporting a cricket team who's nation once oppressed the subcontinent? Lol.

Again idk what America or the mafia have to do with cricket, but you guys take the whole I WILL SUPPORT FOREVER AND I WILL PURGE THE REST, way too seriously.

Calm down, it's a sport and anyone can formulate opinions and support whichever team, amd even if their not loyal supporters aka they only like glory hunters then theirs nothing wrong with that too. It's not a crime nor does it invalidate their opinions.

Personally, If was Naqvi Sahib I would think to myself were properly going to lose the series 2/0 anyway So Big surgery time is best now. Let's start the second test with a bang and actually "DROP BABBAR, SHAHEEN, NASEEM"

Jamal, Abrar, Kamran recalled into the squad and Mir Hamza lining up too.

Are Pakistan going to announce their side 24 hours in advance like last time? Looks like 4 changes on the cards

Again green deck?

Players including Babar Azam and Shaheen having a look on the pitch

3 out of 5 days expected to be washed out

Pakistan have 2 days (6-9 sessions approximately) to save the Test series.

Maybe it’s time to call the man…Sajid Don?

@shaz619

Babar's body is so pathetic now honestly.
He’s gone bro.. he’s gone the way of most desi uncles but the sad thing is he’s a sportsman, unmarried and has no excuse for this pathetic body. He has visibly bulked up the upper body and even his legs, but the proportion of body fat is way off.

Babar tried to get a rishta in the form of Nasizh who friendzoned him so badly it was hilarious.

This is the issue. If I was a father and got the golden opportunity to marry my daughter to someone rich(Provided he takes good care of her) I'd do so in a heart beat.

But 99% of rich people abroad are obviously from extremly high IVY level educated backgrounds and the ones who aren't aka college dropouts have spent years learning important real world skills.

But Pakistani players like babar maybe rich and famous but they can't speak English properly, aren't educated, Are ugly and become unfit really quickly and you know full well that by the time they turn 40, they won't even be around or half the zilch of fame that they have atm.

So the idea of even a mid class level family marrying their daughter to Babar is hilarious and no father would approve. People like these lack the communication skills and respect to marry someone decent in the first place

why are we discussing this on a Test match thread ?

Probably the most important Test match in Bangladesh's history.

Only time they won an away Test series against a top 8 side was against West Indies in 2009, when the latter played a full on second string side. This will mean much more to them for obvious reasons.

Bangladesh should play Rishad test. Specially Indian will be troubled. For India series they should drop shanto and bring joy. I would drop shakib for ridoy.

I expect him to play Test at some point. But, probably not soon.

It has been raining in Rawalpindi since yesterday morning, causing difficulties for the ground staff in preparing the pitch for the 2nd Test. Hopefully, they will be able to prepare a good pitch within a day.

It is very difficult for me to watch Shan playing Test cricket.
I hope that Pakistan loses this test match too and I don't have to see this man's face again

Says the guy who was openly gloating when Babar was reinstated T20 captain over Shaheen
I was just enjoying the meltdown from a few guys over here. Never been a fan of Babar the captain nor do I admire or hate players blindly. M agenda free too

They going hard with Spin?

Surely this isn’t the track? It looks used?
This can't be the pitch. If this is the pitch what are pak's spin options? I don't know if going full monkey spin should be the way to go for Pakistan. Mehedy and shakib thrives on this kind of pitches and recently India were in a lot of trouble chasing 147 in 4th innings against mehedy and shakib, Ind were 74/7 at one time. Ashwin won the game for them.

Yeah. But the last couple of times we were in such position (against SL and NZ away and against Aus home) we comprehensively lost the match. Let's see what happens here.

You were enjoying the meltdown? Now enjoy the destruction.

That's interesting because previously Pak beat BD inside 2 days even though remaining 3 days was raining in BD.

I still don't understand why we can't throw Rizwan, Babar and Shaheen out.

What is the worst that could happen?

We will lose?

We are losing anyways.
Rizwan is ok in Test team but yeah i do agree with shaheen and Babar they need to be kicked out.

Shaheen is the one that's unacceptable.

The guy is averaging 40+ with the ball over the past two years, lacks pace, can't swing the new ball, and isn't bowling smartly.

It's time to sit him.
