Definately not supporting....but I dont want a long discussion....Tired today ..no more discussion. I spent the whole day looking at a Cobol code written in 1989 ....to understand the bussiness logic..I have to modernize it to use oracle financials ..and write plsql packages....I am half dead already :D

Sad to see that the new sunny has forced the original sunny to show his legs.. Sunny paaji looks best when he plays the angry young man..not these cute bobby deol roles.

Hey if Paaji can melt an iron rod...he can melt Kangana's heart...

btw...I love kangana...I think she is a better actress than Vidya Balan....and I love how real she is in the interviews..no face accent.....like she really is.. a girl from smalltown

Gentlemen...you will love the stuff she says here......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swuc-twZQoc

I have watched this interview..they used to make fun of her english but she took it well..i liked her in tanu weds manu..i think that was her best movie so far..but she is still waiting for that movie for which she will be remembered forever..

I think being a drug addict and a psycho comes naturally to her...so i discount those roles.. maybe she is comfortable in that niche role..but she needs to get out of that zone and take risks.

No doubt we can have a discussion regarding that and make crow our national bird. I am open to that idea. No insecurity there either. :)

As far as learning a regional language is concerned, most North Indians already have their our regional languages. Some with more and some with less similarities with Hindi. Point is, people are not asking you to forget your mother tongue, they are just asking your to learn another native language to be connected to the rest of India. If that's an insult to you, then politics has ruined you to the core.

No I am not ruined by the politics. I am disgusted by the attitude of these north indians telling us to learn hindi which we dont like.

I know other native languages telugu, kannada and malayalam. So dont tell me which other native language I should learn. Its my choice.

I dont want Hindi . I am a proud tamilian. Tamil is enough for me. Thats it, I dont want to discuss it anymore.

Video Promo of Manja..

What a song !! Amit Trivedi is definately the best Music directors to come out since Rahman...very refreshing !!!

Movie should be great too..Loved the book "3 mistakes of my Life" !!!! Will be interesting to see how they will recreate Gujrath Earthquake and 2002 Riots.... I am guessing that flag celebration is after India - Aus Kokatta test in 2001....It had a chapter alocated to it in the book...

For people who did not the read the book....Plot..

The film portrays the journey of three friends as they discover cricket, religion and business in their respective fields. Set against the backdrop of religious politics, the story underlines the three mistakes made by Govind. The film as well as the book is set in Gujarat, so the title Kai Po Che.[6][7] Best friends Ishaan, Omi and Govind – young, ambitious and restless – are trying to make a mark in the India of the early 2000s. These are exciting times – a new millennium has just dawned, India's a nuclear power and ostensibly shining – a perfect place for the 3 Ahmedabad boys to start a business that could be their ticket to fame and riches. In a country where cricket is religion, they hit upon a brilliant plan – to start a training academy that could produce India's next sporting superstars! What follows is without doubt the greatest adventure of their lives, as they attempt to navigate the big hurdles in the path of fulfilling their dreams. Based on Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel "The 3 Mistakes of My Life", Kai Po Che (meaning a triumphant yell in Gujarati) is an unforgettable ode to friendship and the magical moments one shares with one's closest pals – celebrating festivals, drunken dancing, watching cricket matches together, strategizing on how to catch the attention of the cute neighborhood girl, being there to watch each other's back in troubled times and to celebrate one's successes by screaming "Kai Po Che"!

3 mistakes is my favorite book from chetan bhagat..the climax was superb ..very realistic story..loved the character of vidhya and her boldness.

I bet this movie will be popular among the 18 to 25 segment...who are either in college or just out of college and a group friendship gives them their identity.. while chethan bhagath writes another screenplay and sells it like a book.

While you keep crying about somebody liking something and base your criteria of liking something based on if majority likes it or not!!

finally I watched veer zaara ..nothing special tbh ..the storyline was cheesy and shahrukh sucked as always..the only highlighting part of the movie were its songs otherwise it was plain rubbish.

Do you know,, veer zaara songs were based on tunes made by Late Madan Mohan. They were not used earlier, so Yash Chopra asked his son permission to use them, using modern orchestra.

It gives a lot of indication why Lata thought that Madan Mohan was one of the best music director !!

Just a trivia....he was born in Baghdad and so by birth he was Iraqi !!

Cobol code.....two things to know -

1. Know english verbs.
2. First make a note of what is happening in each para.
3. Make a note of, which files are read only and which are being edited.
4. Start looking from "procedure division".

I don't know how big the program is, but the longest code I have seen in Cobol ran into 7500 lines for a single program !!!!

woah didn't know that, well music looked a bit different from modern bollywood trash ...Zaanam dekh lo mit gyi dooriya is my favorite from the movie.

agreed..veer zaara was crap movie..the eternal love stories where the guy and girl wait for each other for years is for losers... Movies should promote rational thinking and show that love is eternal but whom you love should not be eternal...find another person to love and move on.

^ surprised to see that statement coming from you ..I mean aren't you a majnoo type of guy or that part died with hopelessbiscuit?(no offence just asking

This is two programs ...2673 and 4356 lines!!! Yeah i am maintaining an excel sheet with what each files do and what each variable holds..i keep loosing track so creating a flow chart now using MS Visio....

@veer zaara topic...say what you want about the movie...but I love the song and picturization of tere liye...brilliant!!! melodramatic though...

I wasted my life over lost love..she is married now and what am i left with...i also used to play those veer zaara songs and think of eternal love.. Its not worth it..give your love only to the girl who becomes your wife..dont sell yourself short like i did.

whenever I play veer zaara songs, it reminds me of Emma Watson..maybe she s my eternal love.

naah no allen,,,,,reso,,,,i also miss''kishore poha centre':(:(:(:('riddle dude....is ''kishore poha centre'' still there??

ohk..I lived near talwandi circle last year..that one year in kota was the best one in my life..tried many things for first time..made lots of friends, first girlfriend..it was awesome.

It's cool if you know your regional language, would be better if you will learn the national language as well.

Amit Trivedi is a special talent indeed, the guy is massively talented and can add his uniqueness to any project. From the music of AAMIR to DEV-D to Ishaqzaaade to English-Vinglish, all have been brilliant.

Forgot the add - The song listed above is just too good, wish it was longer

Th surprising thing is that he doesn't rely on 1 - 2 tracks in an album, every song in an album is worth 5 listens at least

Although I dont listen to bollywood music, but gig Fan of this guy!

^^^^ Currently....best Music director .Even his more commercial movies like Ek Main aur ek Tu....he makes sure it is not typical bollywood. Liked him since Iktara in Wake up sid...Dev D just made me a fan !! I love all the songs he did for Coke studio as well....especially badri badariyan and Nirmohiya...

I just watched it. Never felt attracted to Sherylin tbh. :azhar

I just did too :amir ..just a promotional video...!!!!...will talk when this movie passes Censors in India and releases in theatres.... Will Probably end up in film festivals..and DVD release..... !!!

Who cares, this is not a movie to be watched in an Indian multiplex anyway. Watch in your room in 3D. :D

But you are only pretending that you don't know it. :nehra #Genty

For me hindi is not national language. I dont know hindi and i will not learn it. I hate it to the core.

not only for you...according to our constitution too.. our forefathers were such visionary that they knew india should not have a national language..because we are all about unity in diversity.

hindi gets promoted by the goverment by celebrating Hindi Day and what not..still Hindi has decayed over the years.. hindi news channels and newspapers have increased, but the sale of hindi books has decreased...ask any hindi speaker about any current famous writer or poet in hindi and he will be scratching his head... bollywood is full of hinglish, urdu and punjabi and some mumbai lingo. proper hindi is spoken by only a minority..and some BJP leaders.. so much for being the national language.

It won't be long before English becomes our 'national language'.

lol...people hating hindi are saying this on thread dedicated to hindi movies ie bollywood...

^^^ Why would we hate hindi? why would anybody hate a language!!!

there is difference between what people are saying and hating a language !!!

^^our friend 'billboard' hates and hates it''to the core''....previous post was for him

Oh sorry I did not see his " I hate it to the core " Post !!!! Ridiculous.....how sad must be to hate a language !! I think all languages are beautifull..whole origin of a language is fascinating......and should be learned if one can !!!!

Btw...Did anybody see Maniratnam's Next "Kadal" Theatrical Trailer..he is back to "Just" Tamil after a long time unlike his bilinguals since a decade now......Looks fantastic...Cinematography by Rajeev Menon...And AR Rahman Music as usual like any Mani movie... !!!! I have always thought Mani Ratnam gave his best when he was doing just a tamil movie and then dubbed later like Roja/Bombay......Alaipayuthe is one of my favorite romantic movies ever.... and also .because he knows the culture and cinema much more (Except Guru which was his only fantastic movie in hindi).....

Theatrical Trailer got 1 million + views in 4 to 5 days.....

I wanted to post in that south indian cinema thread..I guess there are just way too many youtube videos....it is not loading at all !!!

Thread dedicated to hindi ? :)).First tell the bollywood directors to make films in pure hindi.

Same thing can be said about all language films. Don't see the point of laughing like a 6 year old, stop hating on Hindi and being insecure about your regional pride.

Why has this turned into a language discussion thread

Nav,

If im not wrong then the Zee Awards in today(20th)?,

Wanna take a look at the Yash Chopra tribute.

This is what divide and rule policy was all about. Divide Indians based on ethnicity, language, culture. etc. If we believe in ONE nation, we must rise above. Appreciate Hindi's reach. Irrespective of its origin and geographical distribution now, its the most widespread language that connects most people in our country. Does any other native language has the kind of reach Hindi has?

.how sad must be to hate a language !! I think all languages are beautifull..whole origin of a language is fascinating......and should be learned if one can !!!!

Appreciated, that's the kind of attitude we need.

bollywood is full of hinglish, urdu and punjabi and some mumbai lingo.

I think thats perfect and you can mix bit of your malyalam, talugu to it as well. If people can learn it that way, that would serve the purpose. :)

people will be encouraged to learn hindi if it was useful... but it is only useful in understanding bollywood movies and some basic shopping and interaction if you are in northern india.. but we can watch movies with subtitles and if hindi speaking people can manage to live in southern parts, then others can also manage to live in northern parts without knowing hindi.

i say english is far more value for return of investment..it helps in your education and jobs..it is the only language suitable for science. it is time we promoted english for the masses.

Where did your cultural pride go now? Did you sell it or invested it? :msd

pride in mother tongue always comes first.. cultural pride doesnt say not to learn anything on your own if it is useful.. but cultural pride also says not to bow before a language that is being imposed on you in the name of patriotism.

Bari Changi gal ay.

Now, moving on, I hear there is a bollywood sex-tape circulating on youtube? :akhtar

Sorry, I don't have much experience on seeing this kind of thing, let alone uploading :P

Don't see the point of laughing like a 6 year old, stop hating on Hindi and being insecure about your regional pride.
You need to keep a urdu or punjabi dictionary in your hand everytime to understand the meaning of words using in bollywood films.Bollywood means hindi film industry so why can't they use pure hindi in films.Your are feeling insecure about regional pride not me

I believe you, you're a shareef :moyo

Just an attempt to distract peope from the language topic by a guy who knows nothing about bollywood. Logical excuse was to go up in the topic and look for anything remotely sexual :P

Ambi..as usual you have an edited post... i edit my posts quickly because i hate to see the "last edited by" comment next to my post.. seems you care more about accuracy than aesthetics.

btw, i tried to learn malayalam because the girl was a mallu..but since it didnt work out, i lost all motivation to learn malayalam :(

Yeah, right, as if one needs a dictionary to understand the difference between two languages that were same pre-partition and one that is almost same to those.

No it does not. Bollywood is 'INDIAN' film industry. Read it again and absorb it. :25:

You can have this sentiments with same language speakers.I have seen pakistanis struggling to understand proper hindi and the other way around

If proper hindi is the same as that spoken in Ramayan tv series then its very difficult to understand many things even though u get the plot.

Why are you bringing 'proper hindi' into this when its not about it at all? Even i don't understand a lot of typical Punjabi or Hindi words.

Really ?
Bollywood is the informal term popularly used for the Hindi -language film industry based in Mumbai.. The term is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema ; however, it is only a part of the total Indian film industry, which includes other production centres producing films in multiple languages.

People would laugh at you if you speak 'proper english' in real life and i am talking about hindi speaking people. They will call you a weirdo. lol

Same with Urdu and other languages including even English, in normal life you never speak 'properly'.
