Brilliant, and deliberate, but not original. It is a common enough pun in the charsi community.
I don't think Deosai got it though![]()
Yes, Pakistan does not force religious view of majority on religious minorities like people from fake secular Hindustan who are forcing Hindu religious view on their Christian, Jewish and Muslim minority.
tell me how cigarette is haram??? & what other things that are haram but halal in Pakistan???
Im asking, how is cigarette not "haram" ? Is it only haram if prophet Muhammad says its "haram" ? How about Sisha ?
Is it just me or do all the threads these days contain variants of the exact same debate? If you squint your eyes as you click, you can see cow-Muslim-cow-MQM-minority-halal-RAW-beef-Modi-haram-RSS-minority-ISI repeated in a loop.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing. It's almost psychedelic.
IT IS A BAD THING.
Its just a series of elongated keyboard wars from Indian and Pak posters.
Of course there are exceptions like threads like these where shaykh is asking a genuine question cos he doesn't know.
You think this is an exception? Shaykh literally has one agenda when posting threads and that is to question Islam and it's rulings, or Muslim counties and their practise. Not saying it's a bad thing, just saying it is quite obvious as Nos bhai pointed out above.
If this was a genuine question as you put it, where is shaykh since posting the thread? It has obviously backfired. And hence he hasn't come back to post since the question, which he probably thought would instigate some self pondering on behalf of Pakistanis and Muslims about double standards, has been answered so directly by DW and Nos.

A bit of a fail on your part...I did post in response...and said the responses were quite enlightening...I asked a question and got an answer...and also asked about pork...
This topic actually makes Islam look better...and based on that im somewhat confused as to what the likes of JA think my intention is...he says i already know the answer...surely if that was the case and my intention in this thread was to malign islam then i wouldnt have posted the topic...
It may shock you but i dont actually know everything...sometimes a question is just a question...
Actually my comment wasn't aimed at shaykh, or anyone else for that matter. Just an observation that no matter what the topic, the debate eventually ends up being about cows or MQM or some such controversy. Even on this thread, the cow made an appearance early on, which I found more amusing than irritating.
Apologies. I skimmed through the thread and didn't find a response from you.
I'm just pointing out the pattern I'm noticing which is every thread you create is something related to Islamic rulings or practices in Muslim countries.
Lol I don't like Islam...that's no secret...but if you're gonna make a claim then you're gonna have to substantiate it...
Most of my posts address politics in general...and some address theology that being Islam...but since you want to claim EVERY thread I create is somehow linked to Islamic rulings lets check your claim...

Every thread or not, it's a fair observation. I have no issues but it's interesting why someone who became a Muslim, left Islam would bother to waste so much of their time discussing something which they totally reject? I mean it must be hard enough thinking back to spending all that time, praying, seeking God's forgiveness etc but only to go and waste more time when you have figured it all out?

We all discuss things we don't like.
There's a difference of opinion on cigarettes. There is nothing outright in the Quran that forbids it, although those that say it is haraam point to the ruling that harming your body is not good for you and discouraged. By the same token over eating is also discouraged. It doesn't make it haraam per se but it is something that is frowned upon.
Lol what an odd post ...so people should only discuss things they agree with?...
This is akin to me saying why do you discuss US foreign policy ...I mean why waste your time?...why would you discuss something you totally reject?...
Tbf this is a forum dude ...debate is fun sometimes...
So whatever prophet Muhammad said is Haram, other things even if they are bad to your health or status are discouraged but they aren't actually "Haram" ?

Are foreign brands imported and sold in Pakistan then? Like would you see Scottish whiskey on sale or other foreign goods. Just curious
sorry actually its you not we
So then I can order bacon butty for breakfast freely then??
Yes, you can order it.
But getting it and staying alive after that order would be the pressing concern.
Is it even available in Pakistan for consumption?

Honestly I'm very surprised at this thread, was under the impression alcohol was only made for export and black market selling.

Go eat some bacon in Lahore, Pakistan. I will call Shafi to send **** of his cows for you to drink with bacon.

No not openly, no. Although there is a huge black market for foreign brands which usually works by people coming from abroad and generally through Dubai Duty Free can get coupla bottles of good quality hooch and then sell it 5 or 6 times its original value.
Pakistanis of this forum just out of curiosity, does it make you feel good or bad that alcohol is available in Pak?
There are legal liquor stores that sell foreign brands legally, also hotels usually keep foreign brands
I visited many liquor stores in Karachi but none had any well known global foreign brands just better packaged semi desi stuff NOR any wine. Also the couple of times I was there, I went to the Sheraton, all they had was some brandless white wine and that too was brought along with some hideous table ornament to camaflouge it, plus it tasted like it was left out to aerate since the opening of the hotel.

It was legal at one time. And we should go back to it. Less deaths from toxic moonshine, etc.

Alcohol is the 2nd most deadly drug in the world, so it's not like it's gonna save lives
Why is alcohol such a taboo topic. It's just a beverage, you can choose to drink it or not.
People who do not drink alcohol are not flag-bearers of piety, and people who drink it are also not Satan's bedfellows.
Alcohol is already available openly for those who could afford it. If anything it'd reduce the loss of lives caused by the consumption of toxic liquor.

Lol. How old are you?
If you ever go to Islamabad, the diplomats' network could hook you up with the good stuff.
There's also diplomats' grade charas. Highly recommended.
I didn't know that, though a friend of mines actually bought a can of Heineken at some liquor store
do you remember those old pics of Peshawar? when there was peace most **** log used to visit pekhawar for chars
Afghanistan and Pakistan were on the famed (and infamous) hippie trail. The "Afghani hash" is a charas blend that the old hippies here in the U.S. still remember very very fondly. There's even a popular strain of marijuana called Kush (after Hindu Kush) that aims to mimic the flavor.
Have u ever tried it?
Kush? No. But I'm moving to Colorado so it's only a matter of time. Although I'll probably go for the oil vapor instead of the bud. No combustion, and no carcinogens.
Charas I've had too many times to remember while still in Pakistan. I've never risked it here, to avoid any legal issues.
around 40
around 40
Really? I can feel young again.
Everyone, from now on Strike Rate is the designated sagacious, experienced buddha, for whenever you need advice. I'm relinquishing my responsibilities to him.
Not sure if you are kidding but if you are actually 40 then you should know that such numbers are not thrown around.![]()

oh ok so you are an old chrasiit's fun being a charsi dunya jahan se befiker
Oh. Well. He is gone now. Anyway you should try charas sometime. YOLO.![]()
yea my soul is still stuck somewhere in late 80s and early 90s but bhai jaan dil jawan hona chahiye umer main kia rakha he!
Well, it depends on the strain. The Indicas induce the symptoms you describe: a chilled, laid-back, feel, almost like sleep. The Sativas are the exact opposite: they actually enhance your experiences, make you active mentally, and create a really cerebral buzz.
That's why most of our cricketers were smart back in old days 70s/80s and 90s. They always had the stuff with them even on tours (remember qasim omar story?) but after 2000 i guess our team saw only M Asif a lone charsi in the team.
"Wasim bhai aap thaktay nahein hein?"
"Nahein, mein cigarette nahein peeta...
...
...
... mein charas peeta hun"
I haven't heard the Qasim Omar story. Do tell.
Asif was more afeemi than charsi. He was arrested with salajeet, the panacea that every neem hakeem peddles.
He also accused several of his teammates [and other cricketers] for being involved in match-fixing and use of drugs. He was handed out a seven-year ban for the allegations. Shortly afterwards, he lost his bank job. “I spoke the truth and I was penalised for it and my career was destroyed. But I stand by what I said,” said Umar in an interview with DNA years later. He added: “Honest and straight forward people can’t survive in Pakistan cricket which is perhaps the worst cricket system in the world. I spoke the truth and my career ended.”
Umar’s allegations were rather serious. “Use of drugs was common among many players and they used to transport these drugs in their kit bags,” he said. He accused Imran Khan (among others) for laundering drugs in their kits to UK. He also accused Viv Richards (no less) for taking drugs to “release tension and improve his stamina and endurance levels.”
sometime? I was a full time charsi in my young days now it's just an old story![]()
Why not now? What happened?![]()
LOL poor you. We have dealers here in Islamabad/Lahore selling Absolut Vodka on spot. They deliver at your home.![]()

Ab bachon ke hote yeh kaam ache nae lagte wo lerak pan thakhair wo be kia din thai!
Yeah there was home delivery in KHI as well because all the mullahs didn't want to be seen walking with black bags in the middle of the street. In the UAE whenever we wanted to buy nice brands for home, since you couldn't go to bars for a nightcap everyday or if going to Umm Al Quwain or Ajman, the port cities whose whole infrastructure depended on alcohol sale (there even were trollies inside the liquor, I say "shops" but were more like malls) because it was around 110 kms away, we used to call the bootleggers and then go pick up the package but it used to be really icky because the guy used to hide the bottle in his pants in the groin area and it was also all hot due to heat and smelly due to his non existent hygienic ritual, but all that was forgotten after the first couple of sips.
